This will be a show trial. For what purpose?

If proper criminal procedures were followed, the case in a civilian court would be dismissed. The criminal justice system is not the proper forum for response to attacks that do not involve individual criminality, but a worldwide movement seeking to destroy Western civilization.

These folks were denied “a speedy trial” so that alone is basis for dismissal of all charges for any acts that preceded their arrest and regarding which information was available to the government. They were not “Mirandized” so their confessions are inadmissible. But that’s irrelevant anyway as the facts are overriden by procedural misconduct by the government in this particular venue. I hope that the Judge has some cojones and acts according to law. Then after release of the miscreants, the Obama administration can “explain” why it had recourse to this “venue,” one in which the guilt or innocence of the perpetrators is meaningless considering the violation of “the rights” of these perpetrators, who are being treated as “criminals,” and not as members of a group seeking to bring down our culture and civilization.

The Constitution is not intended as a suicide pact. The conduct of this group requires use of a specialized forum for their disposition. The unwillingness of the administration to acknowledge the nature of the threat comprimises the safety of members of this society. You need to wonder regarding the rationale for the apologetics and justification for the attacks that issues from members of this society as if they were detached observers rather than participants affected by the epic struggle between the Islamics and civilization. The medieval unevolved animal behavior of Islamics cannot be countered without violence.

You need to wonder also concerning an executive that previously acceded to extension of judicial oversight to matters that had previously been within the purview of the executive and accorded “rights” and access to courts to people involved in terrorist against our civilization. This arrogation of power by the judiciary over the other two branches of government began with “Marbury v. Madison” and there has been creeping incremental unilateral expansion of judicial power. The executive should deny judicial authority over its exercise of its war powers and over the fates of prisoners taken in the course of the struggle. Immediate summary execution of those seized engaged in terrorist acts is appropriate and should be used. These are people out of uniform, not affiliated with a country, and who do not subscribe to the Geneva Conventions (which are nowadays no longer relevant anyway as they apply to a former conflict). There is no “reciprocity” due terrorists, who do not comply with any “rules of warfare” that are imaginary constructs of Western academics and inappropriate in the real world of struggle for survival.

These people are weak examples of America’s strength and belief in our Constitution and frankly an embarrassment as New Yorker’s who are tough and smart. I know the reich-wing is desperate to create a stink about everything because they have no power but turning New Yorkers into pansies who can’t take a terrorist trial for political purposes just goes too far.

It is absolutely appropriate and a tribute to the 911 victims and the American system that these despicable creatures are put on trial at the same spot where the crime was committed.

I’ve been reading some of the comments of “conspiracy theiroists,” ture believers. I wonder if you folks believe that the accused Islamic perpetrators have been FRAMED. If so, why have they sought to be martyrs for the cause in whose interests they purportedly committed the acts of terror?

Is there some disconnect for you folks? Do you realize the logistics necessary to support alternative theories as to how this came about and their implausibility? I suppose not. Paranoia is a terrible thing to waste.

I hope that some of you “true believers” in the “conspiracty theory” will mobilize in support of what you folks believe is truth and justice and demonstrate outside of the trial court in behalf of the defendants, who you assert are wrongfully accused. Don’t be fearful. An insanity defense is available to you if not to the terrorists who claim to be impelled by religious mandates as set forth in the Koran. But then, I suppose some of you “theorists” are more familiar with Islamic belief systems than their clerics, and so know what the sutras “really” mean. Don’t be hesitant. Demonstrate in the interests of truth and justice.
