Pentagon Stops Military Operations With Honduras

The Pentagon has suspended military operations with Honduras following last weekend's military coup. Several foreign countries are now calling for ousted President Manuel Zelaya to be returned to power.

This wasn’t a coup. Zelaya was trying to become a dictator like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. The military, legislature, and congress all stood firm on democratic principles, yet Obama is backing Zelaya, a leader who had reached his term limit as president and, by law, could not run again.

It’s troubling to see such support for a want-to-be dictator like Zelaya. We’re seeing Obama’s true colors emerge: he’s a staunch socialist who will do anything to stay in power as long as possible. We might as well have Hugo Chavez for POTUS; after all, Hugo Chavez, himself, said that Obama was to the left of him, after the liberal messiah nationalized GM and bullied Chrysler into a deal with Fiat.

Right on, Woody. Honduras has a constitution that states two term limits is max. I didn’t think we were supposed to meddle in the affairs of another country, Obama. Like, for example, when you wouldn’t support the Iranian student protests on what appears to be a rigged election. But you will support a socialist dictator who tried for a 3rd term – and it is against their constitution.
It sounds like Obama is afraid of the words freedom and liberty .

It is a single term that their constitution limits, but the premise is the same. He was trying to wrest more power than he was given constitutionally. The people that were upset about his being blocked from landing should be grateful they didn’t shoot the plane out of their airspace. He was denied pemission to land and I am guessing permission to overfly. I was surprised he didn’t re-direct the pilot to one of the runways the narco runner’s use. He gets money from them and should have been able to get an Ok from them. I hope that Honduras holds elections and elects a new conservative president and Obama continues to stand with Chavez. That way we will know he has a hammer and sickle in his heart.
