How about lowering taxes? Do you know how many jobs are lost because companies move out of this country because the taxes are too high here? Although she's out of her flipping mind, as someone who pays the premium for my company I can tell you that unemployment premiums are quite low and aren't keeping anyone from being employed.

The bigger issue of course is that it's all deficit spending and doesn't work any better than the the stimulus bill. All we are seeing is an exapansion of the economic behaviors we have seen over the last 10 years, spending money we don't have and artificially inflaring the strength of an economy. The problem is that it's not even creating a faux propsperous economy anymore like it did during the Bush Administration.

I guess what Nancy Pelosi is admitting is that an unemployment insurance check puts money in people's pockets, and this money will be spent , for products, and that increased demand for products will provide jobs in order to produce those products, etc., etc, etc. My question is … why do liberal socialists pretend they don't understand the concept of tax reductions to accomplish this very same effect? Why do they not want the best for this country? Why do they pretend they never heard of Milton Friedman? Haven't they seen that communism has failed wherever it's been tried?

Nancy Pelosi has no idea how to fix this economy. If she did she wouldn't give Congress raises, fly a private jet, waste millions on those trips, and waste money in the bills she passes. What needs to happen is cut spending and direct funding into the right programs, not just back to your constituents. Pelosi is right, if your definition of "job" is "something you get paid to do". Whenever government "creates jobs" it does so by taking a little money from a large number of people (the taxpayers) to give a lot of money to a small number of people (the 'newly employed'). Pelosi has realized that what the small number of people are paid to do is a trivial detail; it may as well be standing in line.
