Passenger Posts Video While Stuck on Plane For Three Hours in 100 Degree Temperature

Tony Morales sat on the tarmac at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, AZ for hours on Sunday, and he says passengers on the Delta Airlines flight were told the air conditioning couldn't be turned on because of a problem with the engine.

Uh that would be Obama's HOPE AND CHANGE BRIGADE'S DOING, GWA..

Before that passengers have been held on the runway for up to, in one known case, TEN HOURS. Obama decided to HELP AND THEN, AFTER VISITS FROM AIRLINE EXECUTIVES DECIDED THREE HOURS WAS FAIR.

A real humanitarian……Obama.

May he fly only coach on rainy days after 2014. :-) ))))

flyright66   July 27th, 2010 - 5:08 pm

Wow! Delta just isn't getting it! You CAN NOT do this kind of thing to people!!! Until it hits them in the bottom line, they will continue with these kinds of practices!

imageodei   July 27th, 2010 - 5:10 pm

All he got was a $100 certificate? Nice job Delta! You need to fire your customer relations head right now!

DontTreadOnMe   July 27th, 2010 - 5:11 pm

Southwest Airlines has the best business model going. Never late, always reliable. Every other airline you take your chances with.

gaymedia   July 27th, 2010 - 5:14 pm

A hundred WHOLE dollars?? OMG how will he decide where he's going to fly to? $1000 would have been more like it. Delta's my airline and I'm going to write them and let themknow how P'd off I am at seeing this. That could have been ME and then there would have been a big old felony FBI arrest at Sky Harbor from me opening the door of the plane and refusing to comply with their assinine little plan.

GOP HACK   July 27th, 2010 - 5:17 pm

delta post profits charges for luggage, food, drinks no peanuts?
WTF DELTA!

I NEVER FLY YOU ANYWAYS!

TheUltraworld   July 27th, 2010 - 5:21 pm

I remember when flying used to be fun. The customers were treated like customers & not cattle. If you complain or make a scene now, the FBI carts you off. With this increased security, there needs to be a passenger's bill of rights. Passenger's can't be treated like this, but it's happening more & more lately. I only fly if I have to. The entire experience sucks now & the airlines wonder why they're broke.

Holdmynose   July 27th, 2010 - 5:22 pm

They won't fix the problem until someone dies. Just like BP is finding out…an ounce of prevention……

doogle   July 27th, 2010 - 5:44 pm

Since he had phone service, he shoulda dialed 911, had police and medic respond. Might've gotten somebody's attention…

knobby05   July 27th, 2010 - 5:52 pm

He should have faked a heart attack, that way he could have gotten off

mariodebarrio   July 27th, 2010 - 5:54 pm

ooooo a voucher for $100. i smell a lawsuit. if we complain about leaving dogs in the car in the summer, why is delta not in trouble for doing the same here. they treated them worse then dogs.

Jamesb   July 27th, 2010 - 11:00 am

When I was a kid you had to exit the plane down portable stairs they pulled up to the aircraft door. What happened to all those old fashioned stairs? That's how you get off the aircraft in Cancun, why wouldn't that work in Phoenix? Hmmm?

I know, it's because of ISLAMIC TERRORISM – for "security reasons" they must keep people TRAPPED on AIRLINERS.

Please people, remember ALL of the inconvienences caused you by creeping Islamic criminals and their worldwide support system .

Bimmcorp   July 27th, 2010 - 6:02 pm

Some how or another, they will find a way to blame this on George Bush. They always do.

SuperCat   July 27th, 2010 - 6:04 pm

Yeah, calling 911 would have done the trick

Sunsetsabunch   July 27th, 2010 - 6:15 pm

So do we give up our rights when we board a plane and become prisoners as soon as we board ???????

I guess we do …… this cannot continue !!!!!

Three hours in a plane on the tarmac in Phoenix Az with no A/C …. yep we are their prisoner because I don't know anyone that would voluntarism sit in their sweat for three hours !

I think I would be in big trouble because I would go bonkers… I am not sure what I would do…….

wilmac   July 27th, 2010 - 6:34 pm

they should charge you extra for a detoxifying sauna.,you should thank them.,probably added 5yrs to your silly little life.

HarryCan   July 27th, 2010 - 6:35 pm

Was that Snookie doing the reporting?

CBrooks1976   July 27th, 2010 - 7:11 pm

In an extreme case like this one someone should have kicked the door open and got out.
If TSA and the airlines want to go public with their new rule stating that upon entering an airplane you surrender to their custody and no longer have the right to come and go as you wish, thats fine with me.
But not having told these people that ahead of time and lacking any legal support for hold people against their will any damage to their plain or crew is their own fault.

Deskpilot   July 27th, 2010 - 7:14 pm

UNFREAKING believable! What is clearly left out of this piece is the total lack of understanding of the JETWAY A/C. It only works to supplement the aircrafts AC sys which is normally only running on the APU while at the gate. To cool down an aircraft cabin full of passengers takes a tremendous amount of air volume exchange and time, This is like using a window airconditioner for the Hancock Twr in Thugopolis.

liberalseatshit   July 27th, 2010 - 7:22 pm

next he will let passengers sue for $50000 and try to bankrupt the airlines and bankrupt America too

DontTreadOnMe   July 27th, 2010 - 7:54 pm

They are awesome people. Their pre-flight safety announcements usually crack me up.

Bill_Smith   July 27th, 2010 - 8:47 pm

That WAS me about 15 years ago. I had been a VERY frequent Delta flyer until we sat next to a hanger out in back of beyond at JFK for EIGHT HOURS before taking off for California. Yes.

Never again.

lynched1   July 27th, 2010 - 9:02 pm

"Problem with the engine"? What problem, the cost of jet fuel?

Taxpayer1234   July 27th, 2010 - 6:36 pm

What would stop passengers on the exit rows from opening the emergency exit doors? Aren't those equipped with escape slides, anyway? Heck, that's what I'd do!!!

OldmanRick   July 28th, 2010 - 6:04 am

The best way to return the favor is use another airline and refuse to use Delta ever again. Until you damage the bottom line, nothing will be done. Yes, years ago flying was fun. Now it's worse than a cattle car.

Unions are the biggest problem here. I was stuck at Dulles for 1 hour and 40 minutes after I landed because they couldn't get the line crews and baggage handlers out of the break room as a storm had just passed. Then they deplaned us and we had to stand outside in the same weather the ground crew couldn't;t work in (unsafe) until the bags were brought plane side. Unions will destroy our country with teh help of fearless leader. United Airlines by the way. At least the flight crew apologized. Kudos to them.

financial spread betting   September 5th, 2010 - 11:14 am

- all from the same account with our award-winning PureDeal platform. Learn how to spread bet with IG Index through our free TradeSense education programme, or view one of our free online semiIn my last post I spoke about the possibility of opening a second account. This may not be as important to you when you are just starting out and have a low level of capital but do keep it in mind. There are a couple of reasons why you should consider it if you are to take your trading seriously. The most successful traders out there have a number of accounts. The first reason for this is the ability to get the best quote. Financial Spread Betting is hard. Anything you can use to your advantage is great, even a half a point on the spread will make a difference.By having more than one Financial Spread Betting account you will be able to read multiple quotes at the same time (with a little practice!). You will then be able to trade of the better one.It will take time for you to reach this level but if you can trade this way then you will be ahead of a lot of traders. The second reason is contingency. These days spread betting trading platforms are a lot more stable. They don’t hang as much and they are very rarely down. The spread betting companies put a lot of time and money into making sure that this doesn’t happen. But…What if it does? What if the financial markets are going crazy and you want to trade? When you log on…whoops…you can’t log on.

financial spread betting   September 5th, 2010 - 11:18 am

Financial spread betting is a leveraged tool that gives investors the opportunity to trade the financial markets without ever taking physical ownership of the underlying instrument. This means that the trader/investor can speculate in the direction of any financial instrument, whether it is specific shares, currencies, commodities or indices without ever owning them. In the financial markets there are standard contract sizes. For example for the FTSE 100 index contract the standard market size is £10. With financial spread betting the investor nominates his own stake size, for example £2 per point. The bet is settled as the difference between the purchase and the sell price.Financial Spreads is appealing to ever greater numbers of investors for several reasons, not least of which is the absence of capital gains tax on profits (unlike conventional share trading, where CGT applies to trading gains in many countries), and the lack of stamp duty on transactions (most interesting in the UK; strictly speaking, the transaction is a bet, rather than an investment – hence the name.) However, by its very nature financial spread betting is more risky than traditional, fixed odds betting, or conventional traditional share trading, where participants are usually a little more protected. If you judge wrong, you are likely to lose a great deal in the absence of a stop loss and any losses made on a spread bet cannot be offset against capital gains on ordinary investments. The costs associated with financial spread betting are included in the spread (the difference between the bid and the offer price). Therefore the wider the spread, the more you pay to trade. So when considering a company to spread bet always compare the spread. The good news about the spreads is that these are generally getting tighter due to increased competition and explosive growth as investors are beginning to realise the advantages of financial spread betting; thus making the system more efficient.
