Liberal Republican Scozzafava got the Party nod because not enough conservatives are active precinct committeemen (“PCs”) in NY’s 23rd congressional district. It was the PCs and only the PCs who voted to put her on the ballot. The conservative PCs were outnumbered by the liberal/moderate PCs. Those are the facts. It’s a numbers game, pure and simple.

Conservative? Want to really “do something” to change the Republican Party and, hence, history? Become a Republican Party precinct committeeman.

Becoming a PC should be every conservative’s first priority. Blogging and carrying a sign at a Tea Party or attending a town hall is great, but unless we have better leadership and candidates in the main adversary party, the Debtocrats will get returned to power. It’s all about the Constitution and all about winning the elections. The best way to restore the Constitution and to have better candidates who respect the Constitution is to join the Republican Party at the grass roots and make it happen. It’s a numbers game. The more conservatives we have in the Party in the precinct committeemen ranks, the more likely it will be that we’ll get better elected leadership within the Party and in the general elections. Michael Steele was elected not by registered Republicans but by the precinct committeemen in all fifty states.

We all wish you well, but, just a friendly observation after seeing you on Glenn Beck Show: You are going to have to demonstrate more SPUNK, ENERGY, DETERMINATION, and TRUE GRIT than what we saw on TV, or you’ll just be labeled a “BARNEY FIFE” character and become a big laughing stock.

Are the Republican’s ready for this battle? Something tells me no. Hoffman is gaining speed, especially around the country. And though the lady has the Republican money behind her, Hoffman has all Conservative America behind him and he is raking in the funds. He will need it also. With 12% undecided he will need all the help he can get. Besides talk radio Hoffman has 6 Republican Heavy Weights behind him and they are ready to stomp for him.

If anybody wants to talk about Hoffman’s pocket book being fat they need to differentiate that from Pelosi’s 26 million or Chris Dodd’s windfalls or Harry Reid’s millions. If they’re against millionaires, make it across the board. The Democratic leadership is rife with millionaires who got that way by making deals with your taxes. At least Hoffman didn’t get his money from me.

First off, I’m a long time Independent. I gladly sent that man money last week because I’m so glad that a group of people have decided to make it clear that principles are more important than party, and I believe it will be a huge step toward letting politicians, particularly the GOP, know that they can never win fence sitting.

They’ve alienated too many Americans that don’t want their lives owned by politicians that don’t listen. The GOP has forgotten what Americans stand for, and maybe there is a reason for the massive amount of Independents that just don’t trust them.

I’m gladly giving my money to Mr. Hoffman’s campaign even though I’m many states away. I think this is a message that very much needs to be sent to both of the major parties.

Here is what I would say to all the Independents, true Republicans, and even the many Democrats that didn’t sign on to have their freedoms and livelihood taken away: Donate to Mr. Hoffman’s campaign. Even if it’s only $10. Help make the point that needs to be made.

As of right now, it’s nearly a deadlock between the 3 candidates, and the other two are both about to spend half a million dollars or more in the last week of advertising, while Mr. Hoffman has a small fraction of that. Throw your $10 or $20 in the mix. It will make a difference.

Anyone who believes in the founding principles of this great Republic needs to send Mr. Hoffman some money to elect him to Congress!

Latest polling up at Glenn Reynolds, puts Doug Hoffman ahead with 31% of respondents. Dede is in 3rd place, polling under 20%. And, Owens is in 2nd place. (But the poll only takes you to 78% for a total. Leaving off reality, in this bargain.)

I still think Sarah Palin worked a miracle! She pointed. And, immediately Doug Hoffman got national recognition. And, half a million dollars in donations came rolling in.

You bet the politicians are raving mad. Perhaps, not quite Hitler’s bunker. But I hear their are bids on Reid’s liver and testicles. It’s not as if he wants to become a Happy Meal, though.

I think we’re seeing BS because the media is getting paid through advertising dollars. You just can’t run campaigns without spending money. I’ll even guess that on November 4th the media (after reporting fake exit polling data), goes absolutely silent.

Carol, I think they’ve all brought it up too much already to go silent because they’ve enjoyed talking about the ‘rift’ in the Republican party. They can’t wait to see the Dem win so they can gloat.

If Hoffman wins, they’ll have to acknowledge it, but they’ll still surely point to the “rift” that they’ll deem as the worst omen ever for the Repubs. If the (D) wins, they’ll also blame it on the Rift that is surely going to destroy the (R)s. But they’ll have no choice but to cover it. There’s only 3 major elections and every network is talking about them.

Either way, the whole country will now that people took a stand, and the (R)s run the risk of totally losing power if they lose more seats in 2010, unless they start to listen to the people that put them there.

Hoffman is not a politician. Some people say that as a knock. I think we NEED people in government that have actual life experience in business and the like and want to get in office to SERVE!! Hoffman Surges Into Lead in NY-23
New CFG Poll shows Hoffman 31.3%, Owens 27.0%, Scozzafava 19.7%

Washington – A poll released today by the Club for Growth shows Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman surging into the lead in the special election in New York’s 23rd congressional district to replace John McHugh, the former congressman who recently became Secretary of the Army.

The poll of 300 likely voters, conducted October 24-25, 2009, shows Conservative Doug Hoffman at 31.3%, Democrat Bill Owens at 27.0%, Republican Dede Scozzafava at 19.7%, and 22% undecided. The poll’s margin of error is +/- 5.66%. No information was provided about any of the candidates prior to the ballot question.

This is the third poll done for the Club for Growth in the NY-23 special election, and Doug Hoffman is the only candidate to show an increase in his support levels in each successive poll. The momentum in the race is clearly with Hoffman.

“Hoffman now has a wide lead among both Republicans and Independents, while Owens has a wide lead among Democrats. Dede Scozzafava’s support continues to collapse, making this essentially a two-candidate race between Hoffman and Owens in the final week,” concluded Basswood Research’s pollster Jon Lerner, who conducted the poll for the Club.

Hope we have a lot more like him out there willing to just run. He may not be the most cool or charismatic guy, but at least he’s real. Kind of nice for a change actually, I don’t want a celebrity politician or someone great at reading cue cards and teleprompters.

The Rockefeller wing of the Republican Party for decades has been driving the party farther and farther to the left. They and their wealthy friends donate to anyone BUT a conservative. It’s a brilliant strategy. Instead of joining the Democrat party, which they already have a strangle-hold on, they continue to work to move the Republican Party farther and farther toward tyranny. They have blocked all conservatives from national office despite that conservativism is THE dominant political philosophy per this week’s Gallup poll.

Was feeling the same way about this race and situation, until I got some back story. Seems like this chick came out on top of the party polling or nomination meetings 4 out of 4 times. She has, and here is the kicker, a fairly strong appeal to the regional repub machine. Looks to have strong conservative values in the fiscal side, against Obamacare, strong in national defense. A bit weak in some social areas ( or weaker than most conservatives), but all in all not a horrible candidate at first blush. Just saying she might be worth looking into. My fear is an independent can help some miserable dem slip in the side door, and Bob’s your Uncle, the repubs lose again. Just thinking…..

There is a difference between conservative and far right wing.

First Sarah Palin abandoned the GOP candidate to replace John McHugh upstate.

Now Dick Armey, the former Republican House majority leader who’s behind the anti-tax tea parties, is abandoning his party’s candidate in an increasingly bitter split over a seat that should have been a GOP layup.

Armey argues that GOP standard bearer Dede Sozzafava is more liberal than Democrat Bill Owens, and that Republicans should back conservative Doug Hoffman.

The northern district has been solidly Republican for years, and moderate Republican McHugh won with 65% before joining the Obama administration to be secretary of the Army.

But the acrimony on the right is threatening to let Owens sneak in. A Daily Kos/Reseaerch 2000 poll today found him getting 35%, followed by Scozzafava at 30% and Hoffman at 23%.

President Obama set up the fight by nominating the district’s former representative, John McHugh, as his Army secretary. Maybe Obama is as fiendishly clever as his more paranoid opponents believe him to be.

Regarding her nomination: She just needed a majority in a small repub council vote in the area, and she is a long time politician up there with supposed close ties to several of the members on that council. It’s obviously speculation, but do you think there was absolutely no input from the larger Repub groups outside the district trying to influence those votes? I’m just saying, don’t take her nomination as anything other than a group of 4 or 5 people that were supposed to represent republicans doing anything more than selecting a long time politician rather than a true conservative.

Secondly, she is not fiscally conservative at all. She was for the stimulus package when not even congressional republicans were not. The only thing I’ll give you at all that she’s on the conservative side is for gun rights. That doesn’t make her a republican.

She won’t even commit to running as a repub in the next election, and she won’t commit to voting for a repub speaker of the house in the future. Why wouldn’t she commit to those things? A vote for her is truly wasting a vote.

She is for gun ownership rights just like our bufffooon Senator Kirstin Gillibrand WAS until she went to Washington. She was chosen through a process that INFURIATED local Republican county clubs and party members. The decison was based on business deals and her corrupt husband that is the local AFL-CIO president.

She SOLD dozens and dozens of votes in the NYS Assmbley, having a more radical left voting record than most Democrat members. She would fit in very well at the salons and tea’s with Eva Braun Pelosi, Bob Boxer, Dick Feinstein, Bernadette Frank, Elaine Grayson and Keith Olberwoman. By the way, when is Olberwoman going to “Come Out” and announce that he is gay ??? She would very quickly do a Arlen Spector and switch over to the Demonazi party.

Newt’s argument is pathetic and shallow, very rare to see him so shallow. He makes the argument that Pelosi will be “Speaker for life” and Obamakins will be re-elected in 2012 if Skeevatsa loses ??? Come on Newt !!! This is the election is THE ELECTION that will change the script for future elections and save, if possible, the “Republican” party.

This movement is not about “party” control or numbers per se. It is about principal and philosophy. It is about turning the dominant numbers of RINO’s into our version of the “Blue Dog’s” and restoring Conservatives to the majority within the party. Make the RINO’s follow us rather than us follow and be bullied and held hostage by them.

I agree we need less politicians and more Conservative Americans in the House and the Senate.
