Medina is a product of the tea party movement. I also learned that Palin has been friends with Perry since her governor days. He asked for Palin’s endorsement way before Medina started building up steam.
Palin’s also going out to stump for McCain. Probably feels obligated to do that in a way, because he invited her to run as his VP. I hope McCain loses.

For those of you who don’t understand what’s going on here, Palin is fooling you yet again.
You see, Sara got caught this weekend jotting down the answer to a staged question about the Republican Party agenda. This was embarrassing in that she had just accused Barack Obama — who recently fielded unstaged questions from House Republicans without the benefit of, umm, foresight — of relying on teleprompters.
But after being caught cheating, Sarah, as always, had to find a way to keep the simple-minded on her side.
Simple: She wrote something totally unrelated on her hand so the geniuses at Breitbart.com will have something else to talk about. It will make them feel good about supporting a stupid person. Again.
Mission accomplished. Again.
The criticism isn’t about that she referenced notes during a q&a session. Its the hypocrisy and the method in which she did it, scribbling in the palm of her hand. Its acceptable for a 5th grader but not a potential President. If she had used a couple of note cards no one would have cared. The hypocrisy is the criticism of Obama for teleprompters and then using notes herself, but there is another level to all this. Obama’s teleprompter is obvious, he’s not trying to hide anything when he is delivering prepared remarks, the secret notes in the hand that Palin used is an attempt to deceive the public.

I also don’t like that Sarah Palin endorsed Perry yesterday. I was informed that she had committed to doing it long ago. They’ve been friends since her governor days. I think she felt obligated.
A recent poll showed Medina ahead of White, the Dem favorite. And she is gaining on Hutchison fast.
I agree with Palin in that we need energetic, vibrant competition at these primaries, so that the cream of the crop will surface. I can’t see how Palin would favor Perry over Medina, at least not on principled ideas and values. So I really think she feels she owes him.
Keeping my fingers crossed for at least a run-off for Medina.
