Palin On Cain: ‘I’m One of His Biggest Fans’

"I'm not saying that Herman Cain is the flavor of the week. I'm one of his biggest fans and would never dismiss him," Palin said. She also said that she would not be making any decisions about her presidential run within the next 24 hours.

Herman Cain / Marco Rubio

That is the Republican ticket that the Democrats fear the most.

BalkanDeputy   September 29th, 2011 - 8:24 pm

I like Palin, but she's not running. Her job is to be a bullet magnet for the press .

Narcissist Extremist   September 29th, 2011 - 8:28 pm

This is the reason why Sarah has been buzzying around the sidelines, to make sure the right candidate gets the nomination.

Andy From Beaverton   September 29th, 2011 - 8:28 pm

Any presidential candidate for the Republicans has to have Marco Rubio on the ticket if they want to win.

Narcissist Extremist   September 29th, 2011 - 8:31 pm

Is he qualified by his birth status?

NewRiverPatriot   September 29th, 2011 - 8:31 pm

I wish she would throw her hat in the ring – imagine the pain her winning would cause liberals!

blakendecker   September 29th, 2011 - 8:34 pm

Cain/ Gingrich. Can you imagine the debates? They'd be servin' up some slices with an extra topping of American values.

amanuensis   September 29th, 2011 - 8:34 pm

I still like the idea of a Cain/Palin ticket. We could recycle the McCain/Palin stuff and simply lose the Mc parts.

rockstone   September 29th, 2011 - 8:34 pm

Has to? Jeez… whoa….. I'm glad someone figured that out now……….

Think of how it would have looked later had they not…….

That could have been as bad as wearing white after Labor Day.

Larse1   September 29th, 2011 - 8:38 pm

Yes….

That is how very sad they are right now….

Syrin23   September 29th, 2011 - 8:41 pm

Cain getting more support from true conservatives. I like, I like.

Syrin23   September 29th, 2011 - 8:41 pm

Not true. You could run a rock and potted cactus ticket and they would win. They would be FAR less destructtive.

timeguardian   September 29th, 2011 - 8:43 pm

Run, Sarah, Run!

blakendecker   September 29th, 2011 - 8:43 pm

Don't you have anything better to do? L-O-S-E-R

joda2   September 29th, 2011 - 8:48 pm

I thoroughly agree. She is studying each candidate and will endorse the one that best presents the right changes for our government to get it back on track. Boy whoever she chooses, that candidate will be on easy street because her following will all gravitate to that individual.

Roger   September 29th, 2011 - 8:49 pm

He was born in Florida.

But this administration could probably get him an Hawaiian birth certificate really cheap.

joda2   September 29th, 2011 - 8:49 pm

Marco is preparing for a presidential bid…VP is beneath him. Do you know of any VP who gets anything done? They are just figureheads. It would be a waste of Rubio's talents to make him a VP.

Roger   September 29th, 2011 - 8:50 pm

All this liberalism light that Bush kept pouring on us, it's not good enough and people are spitting out RInos.

I bet the establishment republicans are buying tums by the bucket.

sweetnsalty1   September 29th, 2011 - 8:53 pm

I'm on the Cain train.

TippingPoint   September 29th, 2011 - 9:04 pm

And presidential candidate must call for the deportation of Rubio if they want to win.

TippingPoint   September 29th, 2011 - 9:05 pm

Where do you see that? Ron Paul hasn't endorsed him.

JoeDoakes101   September 29th, 2011 - 9:09 pm

I read the WSJ editorial by DANIEL HENNINGER . . .

http://online.wsj.com/article/wonder_land.html

Cain is kosher with me. Palin is too . . . Palin 2012 . . . Palin/Cain 2012 . . .

Harlo   September 29th, 2011 - 9:13 pm

It's only smart for her, if she is thinking of running, to wait as long as she can to tell the media. She's knows that would give them less time to do hit jobs on her. This way she can wait and come in at the right time, just before the Iowa debates maybe. If she doesn't come into the race then, it might be too late… or not. Ya never now what Sarah will do.

snakeriver   September 29th, 2011 - 9:17 pm

No doubt since Herman Cain has now moved front stage and into the top tier of the polls, watch for the leftards to go after him anyway they can.

I think from everything I've seen that Herman Cain can hold his own against the coming attacks from the left. No doubt look for the Uncle Tom remarks etc etc. We remember how they orchestrated the viscous and unproven attacks on Supreme court nominee Clarence Thomas at the time.

Harlo   September 29th, 2011 - 9:18 pm

OR, to stay on top of what the candidates are saying and what political moves are being made so when she steps in the race she'll know what she's stepping into. I don't think Sarah wants to make any mistakes this time around — if she's running.

Pete Daniels Band   September 29th, 2011 - 9:19 pm

Sarah Palin is the only one who can possibly come close to achieving the objectives she mentioned in this evening's interview.

If those objectives are indeed paramount to her, she'll enter the race.

Harlo   September 29th, 2011 - 9:19 pm

Yes.

Harlo   September 29th, 2011 - 9:20 pm

Yes, Rubio is talented but he needs to wait and gain more experience. Let's not put another boy in the white house when he's not ready. Rubio needs to wait 4-8 years, then he'll be ready. AND let's not put Christie in either — he's waaay too liberal.

wilmac   September 29th, 2011 - 9:20 pm

So when did you loose control of the interview Judge.,,EEEErrrrr you asked one question.. which she didnt answer,, then Sarah took over.,,,LOL….I never thought ths Guy ever knew what he was talking about when i watched,,over 2yrs ago…

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:24 pm

Herman Cain is an ignorant piece of crap. Unfit for office.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:24 pm

Cain is not presidential timber. Not by even the low standards of Obama.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:25 pm

Herman Cain is the flavor of the week and there is a reason he rose and crashed before. He is unqualified.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:26 pm

3 Bad Debates for Cain and a stupid 9-9-9 Plan. A national sales tax would be a disaster.

Harlo   September 29th, 2011 - 9:26 pm

I'm sorry guys but Cain's 9-9-9 plan just doesn't make sense. He can't even tell us how he came up with it — other than to say he had some people who helped him but he couldn't tell us who they were. Don't get me wrong. I like Cain but when he couldn't really explain how he came up with his big 9-9-9 plan, that blew it for me. If he hadn't made such a big deal about his plan all the time then I might not feel the same because I was diggin on Cain. So far, I'm still liking Ron Paul. If Palin runs then I'll see. I'd like to see Paul and Palin debate.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:26 pm

Palin/West.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:27 pm

Palin is too nice. Cain is a Mitt Romney stooge.

bossmechanic1   September 29th, 2011 - 9:28 pm

I could love Cain/Palin or Palin/Cain. Do exploding liberal heads cause global warming?

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:28 pm

Cain is a ZERO. Rubio is a rookie. Wrong Combo.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:29 pm

Palin is running and you are a fool.

Harlo   September 29th, 2011 - 9:29 pm

You mean Perry or Romney, don't you?

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:30 pm

Cain is ignorant and weak on most issues.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:30 pm

Palin/West is better. Cain not so much.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:31 pm

Cain is too amateur to beat Obama.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:32 pm

Palin has to run. Cain is a TARP Loving Federal Reserve stooge.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:33 pm

Herman Cain has a problem with Perry yet no problem with the man that gave Massachusetts socialized medicine. Cain is Romney's stooge. Cain is silent on Romneycare.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:33 pm

Herman Cain is full of crap. He supported Mr. Romneycare in 2008. Cain is a fraud.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:34 pm

A national sales tax would be a tax hike for 46.4 percent of households. Cain is a damn fool.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:35 pm

If you want Obama re-elected vote for an amateur that will raise taxes for almost half the country.

MikeNad   September 29th, 2011 - 9:36 pm

A national sales tax has been a disaster in Europe. 9% National Sales Tax is a terrible idea.

grainbird   September 29th, 2011 - 9:43 pm

And they will never be done with Thomas. The liberal media will dog him until he is retired or they are completely irrelevant. Whichever comes first.

Archimedes2   September 29th, 2011 - 10:01 pm

This is natural, as they stand for a lot of similar things. but I hope this is not a warmup for attempting to get on the Cain card, or vice versa. The problem with a Cain/Palin or Palin/Cain card is that they are too compatible, that is too alike. They do have areas on which they are thin. They are both thin on foreign affairs (Palin less so than Cain). They both have trouble rounding up support from the traditional GOP base. And a couple of other things. Better for Palin, or Cain, to choose a running mate who can complement them on such things. I know it sounds crazy after the way he crashed and burned at the outset, but I'm currently pulling for someone to get on the card for VP whom I would never have considered a year ago: Newt. Don't laugh. Newt has probably cashed in his chances at President, yes I agree, he's made some fatal errors, such as losing his entire staff. But he's still a center of gravity for a huge chunk of the political right. He's a fantastic debator, second to none, and although he's had personal scandal he's got a long, solid record with very little taint of political scandal. He connects with the party base but as I perceive him he has not sold out to the "permanent political class". I think all these things make him an ideal choice to supplement one of these excellent tea party candidates and bring the party base on board. (Also — can you imagine the VP debates? Wow!)

Archimedes2   September 29th, 2011 - 10:05 pm

My ideal card is a complete suite, with something like Palin (P), Newt (VP), Cain (TreasSec), Perry (SecState). Here's a novel idea: Palin connects with each of these guys and works out a deal under the radar, hammers out some basic policy and philosophy together so they have a consistent message, then announces very late in the game but comes in with a full slate, saying "Here's my Team, all ready to go!" The four of them fan out over the country and stump together. Obama/Biden won't know what hit them.

SupernaturalCat   September 29th, 2011 - 10:08 pm

he sounds like the only true conservative besides Bachmann..he'd get my vote

cdu4   September 29th, 2011 - 10:18 pm

Don't do it Sarah. You are a great American and a wonderful cheerleader, but you will muck things up and not get elected. Keep helping as you do best from the sidelines.

Obama, President of the United States of America 2012 – 2016…

mediazorba   September 30th, 2011 - 12:00 am

He also said he wouldn't support Perry if he was the nominee? Does this mean he would support Obama? What kind of conservative is that?

Over my dead body skippy.

Mr_Holland   September 30th, 2011 - 2:16 am

First she said this :

“Take Herman Cain. He’s doing so well right now. I guess you could say, with all due respect, he’s the flavor of the week."

NOW she says this :

"I'm not saying that Herman Cain is the flavor of the week."

And then she gets his name wrong ( Herb???) and has the unmitigated gall to blame the media????????

Here are some words that will NEVER change : " Sarah Palin is the flavor of the WEAK."

HERB Cain 2012 !!!!!

Mr_Holland   September 30th, 2011 - 2:52 am

No, no. It's HERB Cain. Get the name right.

sunflowers   September 30th, 2011 - 3:13 am

I think she may be waiting to let the GOP field to hash it out as much as possible without bringing her into it, because she cannot afford to bashed by the GOP field as well. She sits in a different seat.

Cycles678   September 30th, 2011 - 3:24 am

Mike,

I, too, would love to see a Palin/ West ticket. But what specifically is wrong with Cain? He has an impressive bio, has many achievements in the business sector not the least of which is a strong background in leadership, believes and lives by conservatives principles….what's wrong with him from your point of view?

Cycles678   September 30th, 2011 - 3:26 am

Obama is not a black American. He is African-American…..he cannot decide where his loyalties lie….Africa or America. This may be part of his problem.

IronTigersVet   September 30th, 2011 - 3:59 am

hey GoNad… go hump someone elses leg muttface.

ttcu5   September 30th, 2011 - 4:17 am

I hope a lot of people watch this. I heard her original comments on Cain and they totally misrepresented what she was trying to say. She in no way insulted Cain, except by calling him Herb. She was describing the media's treatment of the candidates. No one who pays attention could disagree with what she said.

USSBuford   September 30th, 2011 - 5:55 am

Sorry, it's Romney/Cain they fear. Rubio is still a novice (though undoubtedly destined for great things, like Reagan in 1968).

Eileen for Freedom   September 30th, 2011 - 6:07 am

I am not surprised…also endorsed Pitiful Perry…and Johnnie "manchurian candidate' McCain…for their re-elections in 2010…so why not Citizen Cain of the Federal Reserve!

Keep up the good work…Sarah…striking out on all (3)!

SassyFrasse   September 30th, 2011 - 6:19 am

Herman Cain / John Bolton 2012!

Bolton, a personal friend and former Yale classmate of Clarence Thomas, once said this:

"There is no such thing as the United Nations. There is only the international community, which can only be led by the only remaining superpower, which is the United States."

He also stated that "The Secretariat Building in New York has 38 stories. If you lost ten stories today, it wouldn't make a bit of difference."

Bolton would balance a Cain ticket with vast legal, foreign, and administrative experience. Rubio, best serves his career and the Country by completing his Senate term before setting higher ambitions.

AtTheRubicon   September 30th, 2011 - 6:23 am

Every time the liberals attack Cain we need to accuse them of being racist, and be very aggressive and vocal about it.

AtTheRubicon   September 30th, 2011 - 6:27 am

My prediction is that Sarah will wait until 2020 to run. She is a young woman, she still be just 56 years old then. She has figured out how to bypass the MSM and get her message out directly to the people. I believe she will use the next few years to build her stature and message, much the way Ronaldus Magnus did.

Gregory8   September 30th, 2011 - 6:33 am

Yes, it's true that Rubio isn't a natural born US Citizen, and can't be Vice-President.

Gregory8   September 30th, 2011 - 6:34 am

He passed you up, How Come? He also passed me up, how come?

Gregory8   September 30th, 2011 - 6:35 am

Does that mean he can do Presidential Things?

Gregory8   September 30th, 2011 - 6:36 am

Welll, step #1 is to hypothetically get rid of the I.R.S.

Step #2 is get incomes from somewhere else.

So, something has to be done to help the business climate who will want to expand and hire workers..

So, reduce the Corporate Tax Rates to a lower level…?What level?

The poor people aren't paying anything, and should have "some skin in the game"…So, work on that a little bit.

I personally do not like the 9% VAT, or sales tax at all…I'm in the l5% tax bracket…So, I get to keep all of my income and pay the 9% tax instead of l5%. I'm paying about $5,000 per year….so, I'm saving 6% which is only $300 per year…

That is why Bbot will not report the following: SANAA, Yemen — In a significant new blow to al-Qaida, U.S. airstrikes in Yemen on Friday killed Anwar al-Awlaki, an American militant cleric who became a prominent figure in the terror network's most dangerous branch, using his fluent English and Internet savvy to draw recruits for attacks in the United States.
I thank you Obama. BBots will only offer their hate.

eukodol   September 30th, 2011 - 8:09 am

MaskedPhrogg   September 30th, 2011 - 8:12 am

Why don't you want the ppl who are not paying their fair share to start supporting the nation that supports them?
Is it because you ARE one of the freeloaders?
Is that the question I should be asking, why don't you want to pay your fair share.
You whine and squeal like a pig when someone else makes lots of money and pays lots of taxes. How about you start paying *your* fair share.

keeemosabe   September 30th, 2011 - 8:17 am

Another Al Qaeda fan, huh? Prefer siding to alQaeda than supporting your president and your country. That about sums up the RepugniCON mentality. Such PATRIOTS! Thank you for sharing your true feelings.

MaskedPhrogg   September 30th, 2011 - 8:25 am

And what pray tell are those facts?
You're link doesn't tell us anything new or different. The way Cain dismisses the question w/o giving an answer leads me to believe I may be wrong in giving him the benefit of doubt. My stance thus far has been that it is quite evident Herman Cain saw more reward in leaving the FedRes than remaining a part of it. That is a positive in my view.
All this burying of one's head in the sand when questions are raised about Cain's past with the FedRes will catch up to him. Auditing the Federal Reserve is neither impossible nor irrelevant. Not auditing the FedRes System is arguably against the Law. The Constitution, from which all other Federal Law arises, explicitly puts management of money into the hands of Congress. Congress is derelict unless and until they audit the private firm that currently manages the money supply.

MaskedPhrogg   September 30th, 2011 - 8:31 am

Only in your dreams ya poor nutter

1389AD   September 30th, 2011 - 8:39 am

Herman Cain never said that he was opposed to an audit of the Fed.

He merely said that he didn't think that the audit would find any wrongdoing. That's his opinion based on what he saw back then. That was a long time ago. An audit now (which, as I said, he does not oppose) may uncover problems that none of us, including Cain, is in a position to know about.
