Yes, now it is with the help of SEIU, Democrats, and Liberal Think Tanks that would have us torn apart. My black and brown brothers are part of me. Not just since 9-11 but before. I’d encourage the people commenting here to remember some things:

1. It’s REALLY hard to interpret murmurs from a crowd. Most people here are responding to this video as if “the blacks” all spoke with one voice, in clear opposition, making a specific point against O’Reilly.

2. Think about how O’Reilly said what he said. He says (and this is a paraphrase to the best of my recollection): “After 9/11 we dropped all that race stuff.”

Well, that’s a broad and not-so-articulate way of putting it.

I get his point: we thought of ourselves as Americans and our primary focus was on national security.

But I can understand how a black audience member — who thinks of race as an important issue to him still — would pause and say to himself “Wait! It still matters. It wasn’t wiped away by that horrible moment.”

Think about an issue near and dear to you. Let’s use healthcare.

I — like most of the commenters here, I think — found the healthcare bill just awful. I lobbied against it, calling my congress folk regularly.

Now, imagine a horrible national security event.

Now, imagine a commentator months or years later claiming that “we put aside all that healthcare stuff and were united”.

I — and I hope you would too — would stop and say “Wait a second. That horrible national security event doesn’t change how I feel about healthcare. That’s still an issue to resolve.”

So, yes, if someone murmured from the crowd to say “we’ll never be united and we’ll always be divided by race”, then it’s a lost cause.

But I think the more charitable and reasonable reading is that most were balking at the idea that race somehow disappeared on 9/11. I could see how that sort of claim could worry, concern, or just strike as untrue someone from a different race.

Now just consider the ramifications if FOX news did the same thing with just white victims of 911. The thought of segregating victims of 911 according to race by any news media would not have the slightest consideration, except for the Black media. Yet they get a pass time after time after time. In conclusion it is my opinion that the overwhelming majority of American blacks place far too much importance on race to the extent that they are obsessed with race. As if people are nothing more than the color of their skin and nothing else matters.

The truth is that our bodies are nothing more than a vehicle that our souls need to use in order to interact and experience life on the earthly dimension. We will all sample many different kinds of vehicles over many life times according to ones needs. These vehicles come in a wide range of assorted colors,shapes and sizes.
