This is hilarious. First he is a rental cop! Could never qualify as a real law enforcement officer. I am retired officer and this man had no statute to execute an arrest. The man did not have to remove his sign. If the “want to be cop” had arrested him, the sign holder would have had a great lawsuit. This is simple to rectify. Simply sue the officer for Official Oppression. This man’s civil rights have been violated, and his freedom of expression, and freedom of speech have been trampled. Go to the U.S. Attorney General, Mr. Holden and aks him to file a civil rights lawsuit.

Just imagine that this was 2003 and an anti-war protestor was treated thusly by, say, the Alabama State Police, or the Crawford, Texas police??? I was (am) strongly pro “War on Terrorism” (or does it not exist under Comrade President Obama??) but I defended anti-was protestors as loudly as I could. Dissent is American. Crucially so. You have to be careful in times of war not to aid and comfort the enemy or disrupt essential activities, but your voice against YOUR government’s policies should be heard and protected. This protest was over health care and anything should be allowed, especially on public property (during school hours–different rules should apply). Will the county School Board fire this clod? Not bloody likely, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, race baiters par excellance, would be their faster than the speed of cameras and microphones.
If this keeps up, there probably won’t be an election in 2010. This is going downhill too fast!

OK, i get it. You can have a sign over there, but not here, unless, it has a picture on it, BUT if it doesn’t have a picture you can post it over there but not here. Now if it has more than 10 words on it, you can post it within 5 feet of the other sign with the picture on it, but more than 5 words you can only post it 50 feet away from the original sign with the picture. Now if the picture is more than 5×5, it has to be posted 22.5 feet away from away property that might possibly have a sign that has a picture less than 5×5, this so the smaller sign does not feel insignificant. You know, signs have rights too. Now, these LAWS only apply if there are not any other signs posted prior to and or after 16.3 hours earlier or later which ever comes first. Damn, sound like the tax code!!!

Well my husband has had a good laugh with this one but I have a few “thinkings” here. #1 – If this is a town hall meeting then “school rules” do not apply, it is just a building for a meeting just like any other type of citizen gathering. Now I can understand maybe still holding to no weapons on school grounds but for “dress code” or “signs” then nope those rules do not apply! #2 – I would challenge the school board to present a written code that must be followed AT ALL times for school property usage.
