Obama’s Tepid Words of Praise for Bush Too Much for MSNBC Hosts

MSNBC's Olbermann, Matthews and Maddow share their lamentations over President Obama's mild assertion that President Bush supported our troops and loves our country. Apparently, for the left, even those basic words of mild praise are not appropriate for President Bush.

Sounds like Chris, Butch and Bath Tub boy are not to happy with Barry.

Dave_in_Oregon   September 1st, 2010 - 4:34 am

Hey Chrissy, Olberwhatever., and that other guy……

November is really going to hurt !

SUCKS TO BE YOU OR ANYTHING LIKE YOU !

ScarySoetoro   September 1st, 2010 - 4:34 am

No Matthews, you were NOT proved right. You're a dope, and were wrong from the beginning, and will not be allowed to rewrite history. Sorry jerk.

skipper99   September 1st, 2010 - 4:35 am

Although somewhat distracting, the more idiots like Madow, Olberman, Schultz and other feeble and deranged individuals spout their crap, the more irrelevant they are becoming. Morons like them are daily reminders to vote out the Dem's in November, and Obama in 2012, unless impeached before hand.

triper57   September 1st, 2010 - 4:37 am

Consider the sources, a pack of slavering, rabid progressives.

Mike_Townsend   September 1st, 2010 - 4:43 am

On August 11, 2010 President Bush went to the Dallas-Fort Worth airport to personally greet the soldiers returning home from Iraq. As usual, President Obama is late to the party in supporting those who protect America. Here's the video if anyone wants to watch a president with class. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOC_JjNFkVw

Missy8s   September 1st, 2010 - 4:45 am

Oh the humanity!

The most anti American Resident in history had to acknowledge somebody else did the real job in Iraq but his adoring disciples just can't hack it!

I wonder if he'll ever acknowledge that he wouldn't be walking on the laurels of the surge strategy if it wasn't for President George W Bush initiating it…?

When Iraq falls in less than a year will that be GWB's fault…?

flytiegoode   September 1st, 2010 - 4:49 am

TarHeels77   September 1st, 2010 - 4:57 am

If Iraq falls at all it will of course be Bush's fault since he started that war based on LIES!! Over 4000 American troops dead, over 100,000 Iraqis dead, millions of Iraqis displaced, and nearly a trillion dollars wasted. Heck of a job Bushie!

Democrat_Decimation   September 1st, 2010 - 4:58 am

Yes. HelloLiars, what_what_what, Anexio, RetiredSailor and others that post here with the rock bottom point numbers.

TarHeels77   September 1st, 2010 - 4:58 am

Bush owes them that and MUCH more. He should spend the rest of his miserable life trying to atone for all the misery and death he is responsible for!

sorebird   September 1st, 2010 - 4:59 am

WOW are they sorry we won too?? I guess they forgot that Sadam is one of the dead Iraqis–you know the one that had killed millions of Iraqis and the one that worked with GE–the parent company of MSNBC to funnel oil for food money into offshore accounts.

Missy8s   September 1st, 2010 - 5:02 am

So you're admitting that Chairman O should take no responsibility for anything that happens on his watch because it will all be GWB's fault and his present decisions have no effects on outcomes…?

TarHeels77   September 1st, 2010 - 5:02 am

The President should have quoted all of Bush's lies about Iraq and WMD and connections to Al Qaeda to remind the American people how we were misled into this irresponsible war. Good job President Obama. You promised to end this travesty, and you are keeping your word!

50,000 troops still in Iraq and soldiers getting killed every day in Afghanistan and all those people care about is one sentence of tepid praise from a sitting president to a former president. Maddow is rationalizing Obamas war in Afghanistan by blaming Bush for it. When does the blame bush game stop?

shamballa108   September 1st, 2010 - 5:14 am

That's the typical modus operandi of today's "progressive" liberal.

Talengtp   September 1st, 2010 - 5:33 am

Sure let's do that. While we're at it, we can play clips from democrats like Clinton who stressed the need to go in there and get the WMDs. But wait, I have your follow-up talking point handy right here…somewhere… *rummage*…*rummage* …ahh here it is. Something along the lines of, "Well she was LIED to, and Bush was the one doing the lying." Ok, I see your talking point, and raise you a, "Well, she suddenly decides to believe Bush on THIS one issue when everything else that comes out of his mouth is a half truths and shouldn't be listened too?"

But yea, let's do all of that.

claspur   September 1st, 2010 - 5:46 am

president Soetoro couldn't get into that…. you know why, right?
Too many democrats supported, and gave their official 'Okie-dokie' for Bush to go to war.
Also, way too many Dems believed Sadaam had WMD too. Hillary and Bill sure did, along with Algore and Kerry.
There's all kinds of video to support what I say there.
If you recall, Sadaam was firing on our jets shortly after Kuwait? That's a reason right their to take him out.
If Sadaam didn't play his 'fart-around' games with the weapons inspectors and let them do their jobs, that dictator would still have his torture and rape rooms going full-tilt, plus have at least a half-dozen new mass graves filled with victims of his tyranical regime by now.

DarthShatner   September 1st, 2010 - 5:48 am

We finally have an event in Obama's America where he isnt giving bush credit for something!

Go Figure…:

When you succeed at something you give thanks to others.

When you fail at something you should take responsibility.

Obama see's it the other way around.

One other thing: look up the Iraq Liberation Act. Tell me who wrote it.

Those clips were prior to the UN inspection team finding the truth that there were NO WMD in Iraq! Why did push force the inspectors out and start the invasion anyway? Is it because he wanted as much death and destruction as he could get? "Bring em on!" Of course he says that when his sorry ass is thousands of miles safely away from the "bringing!" He sure didn't show that cockiness during Vietnam, LOL!

mikemc1970   September 1st, 2010 - 6:03 am

gc5341   September 1st, 2010 - 6:04 am

Rachel, Chris, and Keith,

What a sad commentary that these three purveyors of wrong headed ideology are paid substantial amounts of money to spew such nonsense. Rachel is MSNBC resident feminist lesbian spouting out progressive views that are antithetical to the spirit this Country was founded on. In this clip she has her knickers in a knot because President Obama gave tepid credit to former President Bush for the Iraq War. She does not have the grace to give Bush his fair due because she's all about shaping facts to suit her evil purposes. MSNBC relishes giving it's media platform, the airways that the public beneficially allows it to use so that feminist, man hating lesbians, like Rachel Maddow can run her mouth.

TarHeels77   September 1st, 2010 - 6:12 am

UrinalMint   September 1st, 2010 - 6:14 am

Read Joe, I am a dufus, Biden's comment this morning :

"We have a written agreement with the Iraqi government, signed by George W. Bush, binding President Barack Obama to withdraw all troops by the end of next year,"

SO, all Barry-Bop did was follow what Bush had initiated. In other words, while campaigning when he told you he would end the war, he lied. It was already in the cards. Barry-Bop actually followed the law this time.

Yeah just like it was GW's fault cause Gore & Tipper got divorced to, and lets not forget it was GW's fault fro the BP Oil spill as well we mustn't for get that !!! BO takes no responsibility fro his action and especially not fro the actions of others e.g GW Bush !!! I can't wait until they follow the script this time next year when the last brigade is pulled and airborne coming home, the shit hits the fan and Maliki retreats back there in Iraq What's BO to do then ??? 6 months since election have been held there and still not an schred of evidence of any type of Gov't set up in Iraq but yet troops are being pulled out permanently, What could possibly go wrong ??

HelloLiars   September 1st, 2010 - 7:21 am

Obama’s first draft of his speech:
I want to thank President Bush for lying us into this war using the fear of WMD and the rage of 9/11 to dupe the people into supporting it. I want to thank President Bush for firing General Shinseki for having the gall to suggest that we would need over 250,000 troops to do the job right when your brilliant plan of under staffing, under equipping, and no plan for victory was all they needed. I would like to also thank President Bush for diverting our cross hairs from the guy who actually attacked us so we could line the coffers of you corporate donors. In fact, the CIA found a document from Osama where he says thank you Mr. Bush for being so incompetent in your leadership that his recruitment is skyrocketing . Osama also thanks Bush for helping with his long sought after goals of Saddam dead , US troops out of Saudi Arabia, and the US economy in ruin.

THANKS AGAIN PRESIDENT BUSH !!

Talengtp   September 1st, 2010 - 7:22 am

I realize the brain damage you suffered makes some things a little difficult to comprehend for you, so I'll try to elaborate. "Source?" was not referring to the time frame…I was asking for the source of the story that the UN Inspection team did not find WMDs. If you're going to take part in the grown up's conversations, please try to keep up. It's very distracting when you have to constantly stop what you're doing and explain the basic concepts to people such as yourself.

EightiesSupport   September 1st, 2010 - 7:49 am

Obama's muffled critique of established U.S. policy yesterday was quite tacky, but this network is funny in equal measure. I would never see any of it if not for Breitbart, admittedly. Rachel BSE Maddow is really vibrating now about evildoers who fomented the recent downfall of Jimmy Carter's and Bzrezizisznizki's 1979 friend for "buffering Iran" (talk about messes to inherit later…). It is so touching, her consistent concern for the welfare of Manhattan-Bethesda-Brussels elites. As long as they have the MSGESeagramsCanal+NBC Fedayeen their plight will not go gently into that good night

The war was based on intelligence reports – reports that the Brits still stand behind. Reports confirmed by Joe Wilson, believe it or not. It was also based on Iraq's repeated violations of the Gulf-War cease-fire. Read "Saddam's Bombmaker" by Dr. Khadir Hamza.
