I find it funny that the republican party is the party of Lincoln. The party that fought a war against the democrat slave owners of the south. Obviously at the time it was an economic issue as much as it was a moral issue, for the south at least. Fast forward to 1876 – the republican party strikes a deal with the southern democrats over the disputed election between Samuel J. Tilden(dem) and Rutherford B. Hayes(rep). Thus ending Reconstruction, restoring power in the Southern states to the white supremacist “Redeemers” (who were Democrats). The Redeemers subsequently disfranchised African-Americans in the South and barred them from holding any political offices. Basically trading their previous “great cause” for the white house.
Somehow during the 60’s even though the southern democrats were carrying, business as usual – the democrats in the white house managed to make jim crow illegal, and restore voting rights, etc.

10-4-09 Well, here we are in Oct. 2009 and really are no closer to an “Obama give-a-way Health Care plan”. Do you think maybe the plan we have already, is OK? I feel bad for those who do not have a plan because they either are not covered at work or can’t afford one. But to make a wholesale change in the existing system when it will only help a minority of people does not make any sense. Barry Soetor Hussein is just trying to further his plan to take over the country and make it a haven for illegals, takers, crooks, minorities and people like him.
