I don't think he will get this percentage again. Those of us who knew what Obama was like tried to tell our fellow Catholics, but they didn't listen. Now they are reaping the consequences,unfortunately. The bishops have released a non-political statement that was read at Masses this week explaining Obama's decision. Every Catholic who heard it is morally obligated NOT to vote for him, though that doesn't mean they won't. Please note I said a non-political statement. Not one word was said to advocate voting for a particular person or party. I think far fewer Catholics will vote for someone who is telling them they have to pay for others to do what they consider a sin.

I have tried to explain to Catholics, who serve the labor unions first, just what they are voting for, and what they are voting against for YEARS. Those Catholics better get with the king Obama version of the Bible or they'll find themselves irrelevant as he installs a Catholic Czar to implement social justice in the church. The list of grievances is short but include lowering taxes once the church has paid it's fair share, allowing gay and lesbian bishops to practice without discrimination, birth control so nuns can remain in the convent even if they are secretly violating vows and setting an example for the youth so they might join knowing they won't get bullied and of course, abortions so all those hospitals run by the church stop interfering with my demands. Speaking as a live long, kindergarten through bachelor degree Catholic who has taught CCD classes and Freshman and Junior religion classes in a Catholic High School – I can only say, WHO CARES WHAT CATHOLIC CHURCH LEADERS HAVE TO SAY.

Catholic Church leaders have been far too passive, understanding and accepting of liberals doing everything they can to destroy the long held cultural and religious values that a more vigorous Church once fought to defend. Rather than fight the destruction of virtue embodied in normalizing homosexuality, wide spread promiscuity, drug use and abortion, the Church has been passive with its own flock. The soft peddled admonitions against a sinful and promiscuous life from priests, too many of whom have kept their own deadly sins hidden, has given parishioners tacit approval or political cover under Catholic social teaching.

Time to take off the gloves. When Notre Dame University invites a man to speak at commencement who is a stalwart and unflagging supporter of late term abortion and opposes "born alive" legislation it should not matter that he is or is not President – it is scandalous.

Over 50% of Catholics voted for Obama. This is the shame of the Church. Allowing liberal priests, other religious and laity to turn Catholic social teaching into socialism could have absolutely no other result. One need only look at Europe to see the future of the Catholic Church in America. Europe is a place where cathedrals have become museums from which priests retire and where old women pray. It is a place where paganism and atheism are on the rise and drug use, alcoholism, promiscuity, abortion, assisted suicide and homosexual "marriage" are not only common place but becoming the dominant cultural norm.

If Catholics are angry about Obama's policies they have no one to blame but themselves.

I am Catholic myself, and not one Catholic is forced to use birth control pills just because they are a covered item under an insurance plan. The insurance plan is part of the salary/benefits package, and one could just as easily argue that the Church should be able to keep its employees from using "the church's money" paid as their salary to buy things that are against church law.

How can you kill something if it doesn't even exist?
