IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU! IT’S NOT ABOUT YOUR SEXUAL PREFERENCE – IT’S ABOUT PUTTING YOUR OWN INTERESTS ASIDE FOR YOUR COUNTRY! Your sexual preference is not the sum total of your identity either. The military is already burdened with too many lawsuits brought by women, do they really need more special needs soldiers with a penchant for litigation? Do we really need to make the vast majority of strait soldiers uncomfortable? Not ‘homophobic’ – uncomfortable; just like female soldiers would feel if they had to share showers and toilets with men. Is there a great movement of females lobbying for the right to share barracks with males that I’m not aware of? So many gays have already served in all wars, many were highly decorated, all were courageous. Were they screaming ‘I’m Gay!” No – because it is irrelevant. Their bravery had zero to do with who they slept with.

This is not about ‘civil rights’ – this is about special rights. And if a gay person really loves his/her country enough to enlist, and it does take a great love, they would realize, like those who went before them, that “Don’t ask, Don’t Tell” is no sacrifice at all to make for your country and fellow soldiers.

Obama has no idea what it is like to be in the military and does not understand the day to day efforts of the soldier. He is not able to make a decision on be half of the military of a Christian Nation.

If he does this he will be destroying a structure in place for more than a 100 years. He is a self centered, that will put the life a soldier on the line to gain favor.

Also if it is so bad to have gay men in the military then why do they let them in now? Its called don’t ask don’t tell not don’t even think about it. There are currently gays and lesbians in the military and there always has been. They just can’t tell anyone which goes against the oath they take when they are sworn in. The government is forcing them to lie which is wrong. The military has kicked out people with the skills to help in our current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq(translators)

This NEEDS to be repealed NOW and it WILL BE.

Doesn’t this seem a little silly. Obama ran on a platform of getting us out of an unpopular war. Not only are we still involved in an unpopular war but it is getting worse. If I were in the military would I want to fight under a president that deneied that we had accomplished anything by going into Iraq — other that pissing off the world for our — as they call it — arrogance?

You can be openly gay in the military . . . . and still get the lack of support from the most limp wristed president we have ever had.

(c) Obama hasn’t considered that not all ship designs of the fleet are able to support segregated sexes. Older frigates and submarines are a perfect example, just how and what are his intentions regarding under new policy. Also with long duration deployments at sea, does Obama intend to turn the ships into some sort of “Love Boat” “French Cruiser” fleet? What of the men and women who do not wish to serve and live in close quarters with homosexuals, what accommodations will be offered?

I can already see some gay guy making a pass or looking at a fellow sailor showing on one of these combat ships, and next thing holy hell breaking out…

The Military Code of Conduct is a basic and general document that outlines with specificity the behavior the fighting man or woman must abide by. There is a fraternization portion that details indiscriminately the sexual behavior and the rules the military person must obey. If the gays can not abide by that Code of Conduct without making any changes to suit their lifestyles then they do not need to be there, period. As for their personalities and the manner in which they act in uniform that too must be held to account and punished when acting out of form. This is called discipline, without it, the military fails. Failure to accept discipline, means a failure to conform to the way of life that supports protecting and defending each other in circumstances of armed conflict against an oppressor or enemy. If you can not count on your fellow soldiers to have the same focus as you because they are entranced with their sexual preferences, they do not need to be there.

It’s disgusting that he perpetuates the falsehood that the struggle of gays is even in the same ballpark as blacks. He is a two faced pandering politician who will cut the throats of anyone who holds him back from his own perceived popularity.
He will leave the gay people behind as well as all the others he leaves behind when they no longer can offer him a value – like a vote.

If a straight soldier doesn’t want to share a foxhole or close quarters
with an openly gay soldier, will he be forced to? If he still doesn’t,
will it result in some kind of sanction or reprimand? Will this cause
problems with troop cohesion? Will this result in gays being grouped away
from straights? Will brass or higher ups fight with their straight soldiers
over these matters, and if so, what will this do for unit cohesion? Does having

What is the most disturbing is that the gay officiers won’t be held to any sort of standard while having power of young straight subordinates.
If Obama changes DADT, new recruitments will diminish and will hurt our military’s ability to do their job.
