I think the birth certificate is a red herring. What he REALLY doesn't want anyone to see are the college transcripts. Somewhere on one of those he most likely listed his place of birth as Kenya in order to get preferential treatment as a foreign born student. He may have lied on the transcrip even though he was possibly born in this country. He probaly also listed his religion as Muslim for the same reason.

i think, of all the arguments, this is the worst. there are many arguments against the mosque at ground zero that i understand (tolerance, building codes, where the money is coming from…) but this one seems a little stupid.

mecca is a center of the muslim faith. there are not synagogues or protestant churches or mosques at the vatican. this argument is also undermined because mecca is in the middle east, a bastion of non-religious freedom. we live in america, THE bastion of religious freedom.

i can understand intolerance and such. but this argument is just plain idiotic. in a sense, water buffalo is arguing that: "when one never going to happen impossible thing occurs (church at mecca) then the other thing can occur." easy way to win an argument is to present an idea as truth when it is false and then dismissing ALL other concepts. good work, buff.

President Obama is absolutely correct. Our core values as set out by our Founders and placed in our U.S. Constitution stand for the freedom to practice religion and that INCLUDES the ability to LOCATE a place of worship anywhere it is legal to do so.

I notice Breitbart's fair and balanced coverage completely ignores the fact that SENATOR ORRIN HATCH also supports religious freedom. He has experienced the religious bigotry that his own right-wing so proudly proclaims and embraces.

Harry Reid is a good man but he is wrong, wrong, wrong on this issue. I wish him the best of luck on his re-election campaign that he has remarkably revived.
