Obama Official Slammed At ‘Occupy DC’ Hearing

From Fox News: Republican lawmakers, who questioned whether NPS Director Jonathan Jarvis' decision to let "Occupy DC" stay in the park were politically motivated, said an exception had been made for a group that for all intents and purposes is camping, not protesting, and contended that the National Park Service was unequally enforcing the law.

"It's not your job to determine which protest group, how to treat protest groups differently. They are breaking the law. Why aren't you enforcing the law?" asked Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill).

I hope Barack Obama and his minions are ready for 1-20-13. I am counting down the days.

BobbyGG   January 26th, 2012 - 1:47 pm

Liberals are allowed to do whatever they want on public lands. Conservatives are not. Got it.

Iamwitheileen   January 26th, 2012 - 1:48 pm

Thank you Rep Walsh…for getting it done for the 'real' American people who think that the police were NOT doing their job not only in DC but around the country!

Thank you for exposing him…
Law enforcement in these cities have created a whole new sect in this nation of the 'politically correct' homeless!

Now they can 'legally' park their butts on any bench anywhere and say they are the 99%…don't bother me…I can do whatever I want…and you won’t stop me!

DO YOUR JOB AND STOP GIVING THESE MALCONTENTS PRESS!

Sarcastic   January 26th, 2012 - 1:49 pm

Enforcement of the law, any law, in the United States is dead. We are now a Banana Republic, with a dictator at the helm.

Bill_Lumbergh   January 26th, 2012 - 1:49 pm

So "Occupy DC" is much like the Boy Scouts, but with drugs, rape, and poor hygiene?

LuKuj   January 26th, 2012 - 1:49 pm

I wish the pro-life protestors would have tried to camp there like this (they never would have since they are careful to abide by the laws and rules). I bet they would have been evicted immediately because Obama doesn't support them.

doublezero12   January 26th, 2012 - 1:50 pm

I voted 'against Inglis' at first, but I'm certainly pleased with his replacement. Go Gowdy!

Oregontea   January 26th, 2012 - 1:55 pm

OMG behind Mr. Gowdy is a beautiful woman. Behind mr. Jarvis is a zombie.

Doyouwantmore   January 26th, 2012 - 1:56 pm

That was fun to watch. I mean really really fun. Its fun to watch people squirm under the glare of logic and reason and critical-thinking.

Cowboy Logic   January 26th, 2012 - 1:56 pm

Obama cannot begin to comprehend the tidal wave that is going to sweep over him in November.

That Mr. Jarvis that is testifying, is nothing but a high volume douchenozzle.

Cowboy Logic   January 26th, 2012 - 1:59 pm

Dot!

Obamaisatraitor   January 26th, 2012 - 2:01 pm

Pray you are correct.

Forbes revealed today the much pitied secretary of Buffett owns her own 2500 sq. ft. home in NE near HQ and just bought another 2500 sq ft. home in Surprise Az with pool and PGA Putting Green. Forbes best estimates her salary between $200-$500K. She IS paying too much tax but is not exactly a middle class secretary living on normal wage.
What a travesty !

MonkeyBad   January 26th, 2012 - 2:01 pm

This is simply unbelievable. I have no idea how to respond to the twisted mind of a liberal democrat like this guy. I can't believe he can cross the street without getting run over.

MR2   January 26th, 2012 - 2:06 pm

I can just see the homeless moving enmass to National Parks, Monuments, Cemetery's, Forests, Buildings, etc. – protesting the "housing market" for long-term "vigils".

pdirt   January 26th, 2012 - 2:06 pm

Joe Walsh ROCKS!!! (sorry, I just had to say it)

RedDogz   January 26th, 2012 - 2:06 pm

Guys like this used to be honorable and trustworthy. I never thought I would live to see the day that career government employees would allow themselves to be used as pawns. They sold out their country for the sake of their paychecks. If they felt pressured they should have gone public.

LibertyWriter   January 26th, 2012 - 2:08 pm

How many people have been cited for sleeping?

answer, none.

God help us. Unions are killing us.

urinthematrix   January 26th, 2012 - 2:09 pm

Drugs, rape / public sex, poor hygiene, yes, but no smoking and no trans-fats.

Mr. Jarvis cannot be the shining star of the NPS….please tell me he is not.

Bullonay   January 26th, 2012 - 2:16 pm

I think the family will go to Jellystone Park this summer and protesting the poor treatment that is given to Yogi Bear…we'll see what Ranger Smith has to say about that!

Bullonay   January 26th, 2012 - 2:18 pm

Looks like someone out of an old Twilight Zone episode…

Doyouwantmore   January 26th, 2012 - 2:19 pm

I'm going protesting at the lake this summer. Can't wait.

Chuck47   January 26th, 2012 - 2:23 pm

Hilarious. I think HER name is "ZICK".

IMCONSERVATIVE   January 26th, 2012 - 2:28 pm

The "law" today is what the left says it is. For example, and although this isn't a law, it shows the double standard. When GWB was president, the Senate dems didn't recess to prevent him from making recess appointments. This year, the Senate Republicans did the very same thing the dems did but Obama ignored them and made his appointments anyway and Harry Reid and the other dems said it was the right thing for him to do and no big deal.

In this case, if Tea Partiers were protesting in McPherson (sp?) Park, they would have all been driven out and told they can't protest there. But when it's a protest of the left against the right, then it's okay.

IMCONSERVATIVE   January 26th, 2012 - 2:32 pm

He's trying to justify his inaction, but he really can't. He should have just told the truth: "I'm not going to enforce the law here because the Executive Branch called me and told me not to."

IMCONSERVATIVE   January 26th, 2012 - 2:34 pm

"How many people have been cited for sleeping"
"None"
Next questions should have been: "Why not? Should they be? Are you going to cite them today? If not, why not?"

Tweety58   January 26th, 2012 - 3:06 pm

Fire him-give Eric Cartman the job.

emgreenlaw   January 26th, 2012 - 3:12 pm

Dang, and to think of the money we spent last summer camping and sightseeing in federal parks across this country…. the moral of the story is we just should have told the rangers at the gate that we were protestors, not campers, and we could have done whatever we wanted, stayed as long as we wanted, trashed the park and not paid our entry fee. What the heck is this country coming to???? It certainly has gone down hill rather fast these past three years, hasn't it.

AZCobraman   January 26th, 2012 - 3:15 pm

Well done Mr. Gowdy.

solgreatman   January 26th, 2012 - 3:20 pm

Absolutely right.

solgreatman   January 26th, 2012 - 3:24 pm

Lets all go camping in D.C.,shut it down.

janicegammill   January 26th, 2012 - 3:25 pm

Thank you Chairman Gowdy!

flyright66   January 26th, 2012 - 3:28 pm

This just makes me boil!!! Really disgusting the blatant politics of this '30 year veteran' of the National Parks Service….If this was a 'Tea Party' protest they would have thrown them out at the first sight of a pillow, much less a tent!!! AND, EVERY News outlet would've covered it showing the 'lawbreaking Tea Partiers' —— November, you can't come soon enough!

truthranger   January 26th, 2012 - 3:30 pm

So apparently folks if you don't wan't to pay those camping fees next time you visit a National Park all you have to do is call yourself a protest and its all ok.

And why pay those high hotel bill when your are in DC just pitch a tent on the National Mall and if you call yourself a protest the Park Police won't bother you.

losarkos   January 26th, 2012 - 3:36 pm

all that needed to be written. thanks.
time to take back our government and make it fair for "all the people".

losarkos   January 26th, 2012 - 3:40 pm

i just read on drudge where if obama and hillary ran as a team they would wipe the floor with their opposition.
this is truly scary and disappointing if true, it means the public buys into this lost of freedom and disdain for our constitution which was sworn by our officials to uphold

when did hillary clinton create a job? the only jobs obama has created in my opinion are for the czars.

This entire administration needs to be in jail! Look at how many times they will not follow the law when it pertains to their voter base. Their all lawbreakers and I DEMAND JUSTICE.

jdeldin   January 26th, 2012 - 3:45 pm

Love your post and can I borrow it????

Bill_Lumbergh   January 26th, 2012 - 3:49 pm

Apparently, according to Jarvis, people who are homeless and/or have lost their homes in this atrocious Obama economy, now have a green light to set up 'Hooverville' encampments on the National Mall. This would be a beautiful thing to see during the '12 elections…

wren08   January 26th, 2012 - 3:49 pm

Another Obama "robot"…he just got a can of "whoop ass" opened on him…..now look, there he goes with his tail between his legs…whimpering all the way……keep apologizing for this administration and you will keep your dog house!

BrendaC   January 26th, 2012 - 3:56 pm

Everyone needs to go to cspan and watch the entire meeting. (Well, skip the intro's) The Republicans wanted the Dept to abide by the law of the land and the Democrats did everything they could to defend the leeches. I thought they were going to break out the drums for a minute.

Knucklehedd   January 26th, 2012 - 4:44 pm

Heard it on the radio. It was a head-shaker from the word "go." Dems – and Jarvis – did everything they could to justify not upholding the law. It was pathetic.

Knucklehedd   January 26th, 2012 - 4:45 pm

You forgot the rats.

vote24   January 26th, 2012 - 5:03 pm

Until the general "media" spotlight these things we are still huuuuge underdogs. Occupy the media, boycott liberal stations . If we actually did it together, things would change in a week. If ABC or NBC seem overtly liberal to you, quit effin watching them, yes all shows on that network, it's the only way. Your country or your CSI…etc. Last chance.

Tea Party Express Bus Is Rolling Through Florida
http://www.teapartyexpress.org/3273/tea-party-exp...

“Rallying for Victory” Tour to Bring Tea Party Issues to the Fore

Jacksonville, FL – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, is excited to announce the launch of its “Rallying for Victory” bus tour through Florida. The tour will start this Saturday, January 28th and will make six stops up and down the Sunshine State.

Amy Kremer, Chairman of the Tea Party Express, said, “The Tea Party Express is here rallying for victory against the policies of Barack Obama and the Harry Reid-led Senate. The current Administration has showed zero leadership and interest in listening to the voice of the American people. Our ‘Rallying for Victory’ tour through Florida will be an exhibition of the Tea Party’s strength and determination in pursuing and promoting Tea Party values.

“Florida is a key state in the presidential election campaign and one in which the future direction of the country could be determined. This will be the place to reject the Obama policies of promoting his big government, liberal policies that have killed job growth and added trillions of dollars of debt. It is critical to have an energized and engaged Tea Party electorate, just like we saw in 2010 as the Tea Party movement elected more Republican state legislators since 1928 and more Republican congressional representatives since 1948.

“Our ‘Rallying for Victory’ bus tour will bring together local and national Tea Party activist to raise awareness of the Tea Party movement and the conservative principles that will put this nation back on the path to prosperity. It is an opportunity to inform the American people that there is a free-market solution to get the economy on the right track and that the president’s actions have not accomplished what he has promised,” Kremer concluded.

The Tea Party Express plans to make stops in Jacksonville, Winter Park, West Palm Beach, The Villages, Gainesville, Panama City and Pensacola. The Tea Party Express will be joined by conservative leaders from across the country and will provide a platform for Presidential candidates to present their Tea Party qualifications. The organization is directing the public to its website (www.TeaPartyExpress.org) for the details of the stops. http://www.teapartyexpress.org/press-releases

Joe Walsh is a patriot!

Thank you Sir!

emgreenlaw   January 27th, 2012 - 7:16 pm

Of course you can!

Veritas_anquiro   January 28th, 2012 - 10:11 am

"Yes-s-s sir! Mr. Jarvis, Mr. Ranger, sir!!"
"Let's go Boo-Boo!! There's lots of yummy picnic baskets in MacPherson Square to be had!"

Blastwaz   February 1st, 2012 - 7:34 pm

That would explain his reluctance to enforce the laws about what happens at night in the park…

Blastwaz   February 1st, 2012 - 7:36 pm

There is no question that the law has a sliding standard based on politics. Zero citations in 100 days? GIve me a break.

Blastwaz   February 1st, 2012 - 7:39 pm

Why would anyone ever apply for a permit for a public event like this if they can just do it for free and call it Free Speech?

Richard71999   February 2nd, 2012 - 4:40 pm

"Is there bank robbery going on?.. we are in the process of gaining compliance.." seems fair to me

waterfaller   February 3rd, 2012 - 12:17 pm

This guy has no business being in the position that he is now in.

ncnativ23   February 4th, 2012 - 7:05 pm

What was left out is the reason why the laws are not being enforced. The laws are not being enforced to prevent the OWS protesters from getting MORE violent. They are being coddled to prevent more violence.

prwenduro   February 6th, 2012 - 8:56 am

I feel the prosecutor was unduly tough on the park official. The official, appears to me, to be trying to perform his job within the limits of his authority. If there are complaints they should be directed elsewhere. We are not the Gastopo. As much as I hate what the Occupy are doing I feel they should be allowed to protest, UNTIL they break the law, then law enforcement should step in.

LaffinatLeftist   February 6th, 2012 - 7:34 pm

Well those are living in public housing AND running for office on the Demoncrat ticket!

LaffinatLeftist   February 6th, 2012 - 7:38 pm

I hate to cut you off Mr Jarvis but YOU are a MORON!! What a dumbass!!!!

LaffinatLeftist   February 6th, 2012 - 7:44 pm

I think I'll be a protestor in McFurson(sic) Square with a tent and sleeping bag and I'd like to take a short nap of about 7 hours. I want to leave a wake up call for 8 o'clock tomorrow morning. Thank you Mr. Jarvis…… What a clown!!
