I thought that Obama did a very good job in handling his speech addressing the Native American convention, and expressing his concern about the Fort Hood tragedy. No complaints from me, he could not have ignored the assembled without addressing them first, but he address the incident in a fitting way. this is the first time I have given him kudos in a very long time, but I try to be fair about the issues.

It appears that your job description is writing posts in defense of Obama. He was wrong in how he handled the situation. The first thing I thought of when I heard it was that he was out campaigning again. And then he goes on to say that whatever they discussed during the conference is his #1 priority. Really? And you want anyone to believe that you don’t often defend him?

I find this highly inappropriate just for the reason that America is concerned about a tragedy that was at the time occurring and people needed to know and hear encouragement from the President and I didn’t feel much of that. The shoot out would have been more appropriate at another time. It like someone that gets up on stage steals the microphone and yells out that someone else had a better music video.

Obama simply cannot say anything ‘heartfelt’ about our military, unless it would be that he’s ashamed of all the countries we’ve ‘invaded’. The President should investigate some American History. Crispus Attucks (a Black man)…the first man to die for this country! Then he might appreciate the sacrifices made by young men and women in the military which gives him the ability to laugh and ignore tragedy.

It warmed my heart when Obama didn’t acknowledge Perry at the Fort Hood Memorial. Sitting next to the hater Gov looked uncomfortable, too. Perry screwed up his chance to be respected by the President when he bashed Him at the Tea Parties, etc.
