1. The Bush admn put this Solyndra loan on hold as too risky. As soon as Obama became president, his DOE made the deal.
2. Obama's DOE is forging ahead with more risky loans and bailouts: to subsidize an electric car that will sell for $80,000,to subsidize more solar panels, to subsidize ethanol(Republicans and Democrats are complicit in this) . . . .
Two simple questions:
1. When did our taxes become an Investment Fund for "Green" jobs, and ethanol etc?
2. Those who love hybrid and electric cars: how will you safely dispose of these highly toxic batteries, and
why would anyone buy such junk that has a less than 100 mile range(electric car)?

It's Keynesian economics. It doesn't matter what the money is spent on, just that it's spent. That's why Keynesian followers can be so crazy as to say that a war with aliens will stimulate the economy. We might as well build a Colossus in every city in America. When your economic models tell you that for every dollar the government spends, we get 1.25 to 2X the return like magic, you must spend as much as you can possibly spend because you get an automatic return on your investment.
Those of us in the real world who actually are tasked with creating a return on investment know that it takes a ton of work and a bit of luck to get a return on your investment. It's not just an automatic 1.25X return.
This same kind of logic of an input automatically forcing an outcome is also used in the climate models for CO2 forcing higher temps.
