I have always wondered at the percentage game played by the left.
If you mention welfare and the fact that there is to be a far higher percent of blacks on welfare than whites, they balk at that data. They will readily tell you that numerically there are far more whites on welfare.
If you mention that any wealthy person in America is likely to have paid numerically (dollar amount) as much in taxes as possibly hundreds of poor people paid in a given year; they will balk also. In this case they will assert that it's the percentage that matters.

If an individual points out that on percentages there are more Afr i can American individuals receiving wel fare, the leftist balk. Leftists will tell you that numerically there are far more whit es receiving welfare. So percentage is not important, quantity or the exact number is paramount.
If an individual points out that a wealthy individual in this country has likely paid more in taxes in any given year more than hundreds of poor or middle class individuals will pay all together in multiple years combined, (quantity); that same leftist will assert that this issue of quantity is not important here. What matters is PERCENTAGE of income. And the leftist gets to say when and where quantity vs. percentage matters.
Now why is that?

Obama is delusional. Not because he said that the policies of GWB caused so many of the problems we are experiencing today (he's actually right about that). He's delusional because he doesn't see that his policies have only made things much much worse.

The only good thing Obama has done is prove that it's possible to be a worse president than GWB.

Think about this for a minute. We had a good president in Reagen, but outside of that, you can't find another great president without going back to Calvin Coolidge.

Why was Coolidge great? Because he did next to nothing and was smart enough to know to just get out of the way and let the people of America unleash their creativity and work ethic.

In all my years on this planet, I have never heard a President blame his predecessor with such frequency. When you run for President you are supposed to lead. You take ownership of the job on day one and don't point to the failures of the previous leader. Obama has had over three years to correct the course, but instead he has made things far worse. And not for nothing, but the housing crisis is what caused this problem and Bush put forth a plan in 2003 to make changes and Barney Frank and the like stopped it…. so it is liberal policy that got us in this mess.

As for Bush's two wars, it was said all along that it was planting the seeds of democracy in the Middle East and what do we have? An Arab Spring — unlike anything we've seen in the last 50 years. Of course, Obama wants to take credit for that.

If Bush is to blame for the terrible economy that we are in, then Clinton is responsible for 9/11.

The amount of money the federal government hands out in direct payments to individuals steadily increased over the past four decades, but shot up under Obama, climbing by almost $600 billion — a 32% increase — in his first three years. And Obama's last budget called for these payments to climb another $500 billion by 2016, at which point they would account for fully two-thirds of all federal spending.

According to the Census Bureau 49% now live in homes where at least one person gets a federal benefit — Social Security, workers comp, unemployment, subsidized housing, and the like. Food stamps. This year, more than 46 million (15% of all Americans) will get food stamps. That's 45% higher than when Obama took office, and twice as high as the average for the previous 40 years. Disability. The number of people on Social Security disability has steadily climbed since the 1970s, thanks mainly to easier eligibility rules. But their numbers jumped 10% in Obama's first two years in office, according to the Social Security Administration. That sharp rise was due largely to meager job prospects since the recession ended in 2009. When employment opportunities are scarce, experts note, many who could otherwise work sign up for disability benefits instead.
