Carper, D-Del., but Dodd deserves to be singled out here because the firefighters union is a pet constituency of his. In 2007 he campaigned all through Iowa with the firefighters union. It was one of the few distinguishable features of Dodd’s ill-fated presidential bid.
The text of the amendment is below:
(Purpose: To provide additional funds for FIRE grants under section 33 of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974)
On page 77, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following:
SEC. X (a) The amount appropriated under the heading “firefighter assistance grants” under the heading “Federal Emergency Management Agency” under by title III for necessary expenses for programs authorized by the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 is increased by $10,000,000 for necessary expenses to carry out the programs authorized under section 33 of that Act (15 U.S.C. 2229).
(b) The total amount of appropriations under the heading “Aviation Security” under the heading “Transportation Security Administration” under title II, the amount for screening operations and the amount for explosives detection systems under the first proviso under that heading, and the amount for the purchase and installation of explosives detection systems under the second proviso under that heading are reduced by $4,500,000.
(c) From the unobligated balances of amounts appropriated before the date of enactment of this Act for the appropriations account under the heading “state and local programs” under the heading “Federal Emergency Management Agency” for “Trucking Industry Security Grants”, $5,500,000 are rescinded.

Last Thursday, December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order “Amending Executive Order 12425.” It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other “International Organizations” as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.
By removing language from President Reagan’s 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates – now operates – on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
What, exactly does this mean? It means that INTERPOL now has the full authority to conduct investigations and other law enforcement activities on U.S. soil, with full immunity from U.S. laws such as the Freedom of Information Act and with complete independence from oversight from the FBI.
In short, a global law enforcement entity now has full law-enforcement authority in the U.S. without any check on its power afforded by U.S. law and U.S. law enforcement agencies.

Oddly, the truth isn’t “mean”, but perhaps you can say that posting our security procedures online and “not being able to take them down” is the “hope and change” we should expect. Oh, as I understand it the “kindness” of releasing the Yemeni “combatants” from Gitmo was, “warm and fuzzy”, but they are apparently the heads of “Al Cada in the Saudi Peninsula”, for you non-political types, the ones who took credit for the act of terrorism, which is more apparently “warm and fuzzy”. Here’s a kudo for Ms Incompetano, but then perhaps in your best effort you can “dispute the facts”, because the only “Standard political rhetoric” came out of this administrations pie hole, jack.

You do realize that the Congress has been owned by the Dem’s for the last 3 years, I’m guessin’ that you don’t quite understand how we don’t get out of a recession by raising the national debt limit or printing money without anything to back it (even Brazil, Zimbabwe, the Chi-coms and Russia, told us not to) and spending trillions more that will actually put us over the new $14 trillion debt limit in short order.
Odd to say that lemmings go over the cliff derrière to nose, there’s no real change and hardly “warm and fuzzy” and ever not so rhetorical.
