EVERY Obama promise comes with an expiration date. Some quicker than others.
Here’s the problem.
Politicians have always lied. And then lied about their lies (”I didn’t have sex with that woman . . .”).
Now, with a video camera attached to every cellphone, everything every politician says is preserved for posterity.
However, they don’t seem to care and for sure they don’t acknowledge what they said in the past. Even if confronted they’ll mumble through something like “Uh well, what said then was true then but the circumstances have changed. These are desperate times.”
This will not change until we experience the change we though we were going to get with Obama. You know, getting rid of every politician who practices “business as usual” politics — the politics of pure power over all else. Obama has demonstrated that his only agenda is to sweep as much power under the federal rug as he can manage. Doesn’t matter what it is — banks, auto companies, healthcare, climate change, etc., etc., etc.
If you think he’s going to tuck his tail and hide in the Oval Office the next three years, you’re wrong. Between now and November he will try to jam through everything on his wish list and it will take years to undo the damage.
For all who voted for the “man with no resume” I’d only ask that the next time someone like Obama comes on the scene you do a better job. As voters, you failed the rest of us.

This was before the statement by Jim DeMint; “If we’re able to stop Obama on this it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.” became the war cry of the Rethug’s. After too long a time of trying to get Rethug’s to come to the table and work together, Obama gave up and decided to have the Dem’s go it alone. What other choice was there? The Rethug’s made it very clear that they were not going to vote for anything other then a bill they authored and wrote, and since they are the minority party, that’s insanity. Obama tried to get consensus, but because of Rethug’s obstruction was forced to reconciliation. Oh well, this was the gambit the Rethug’s took, and just like all the times they shut down the government to get their way, they lost.

and then just repeat them over and over. When I hear republicans speak it’s like they have all been given
the same script to repeat over. I never listen usually to any talk radio and yesterday I happened to and
the entire time on this local station all people did was called in and bash Obama. It’s like that was the
only purpose for the show. I’m glad there is not democrats out there doing the same thing it shows more
intelligence by not doing this negative talk show stuff. We need health care reform and many people have
devoted their valuable time to see that we get this as people are really dying because of this. It’s been
decades and many Presidents have tried to get this passed. If we had honest debate instead of the name
calling and out right fabrications it would be a honest way of deciding on important issues but that is
not the way things are being done.

The health bill has already passed the congress and the senate. This is just the reconciliation. In Canada they are all very happy and proud of their health care and it only costs 2/3 of the US system – incredible. I have lived for the past 40 years in two European countries with national health care. The economies of both countries have been irreparably broken by the impossible expense of nationalized health. The people are now dependent on nanny healthcare and the governments cannot find a way to make it work without a steadily growing deficit. Both countries have massive illegal immigration–just like US. Nationalized healthcare means doom and destruction for every country that tries it.
In fact the US already has it–medicare. So how do you like being told which doctor you can have? How do you like being cross-examined and made to fill in forms to be sure they get paid? How do you like being kept waiting and then being shuttled through examinations by a nurse, then passed by the doctor for a 3 minute blessing before being shown the door? This is characteristic Nationalized Medicine. If you think private medicine in all about money, wait until you see government-run healthcare. And look what it has done to our economy.
There is a very large, SIZEABLE majority, and that large SIZEABLE majority is the PEOPLE, and WE DO NOT WANT THIS BILL.

Lies aside, anybody that did their homework knew what this guy was about. Anybody that took the time to look before voting for the most important position in the world knew what this guy was about. Of course most of the mob believes that talk radio concentrated on his middle name or his color (because talk radio hosts all racist) or his radical friends so didn’t listen to the message that spoke about his former speeches and interviews that betrayed his lies during the campaign. How do we get out of this before additional damage is created during the next three years? There is no way out but, for starters, get involved in your communities, tea party organizers, repeatedly call your representatives and senators and ask them not to vote for whatever is going on that you disagree with. I work in a place where the majority are liberal democrats who believe the constitution is just an old document, who also believe in America becoming a socialist country like European countries, and who believe Obama is doing a great job. Believe me when I tell you, it is impossible to get this people to read anything other than their daily local newspaper and/or to listen to anything other the three major networks. These people are uninformed, uninterested, and very ignorant.
The independents and moderates in this country need to learn to get their information from sources other than the ones mentioned above. I did not vote for Obama or McCain and I knew what would happen if Obama was elected. I read and researched other sources and learned that Obama was the most liberal senator in the senate with only two years of senate experience. He did not cast his vote very often and when he did, it was always to the far left. He was also perceived by his coleagues as cold and aloof. Obama had never managed anything, his only experience was that of a community organizer and activist. His friends and associates were people who believed in communism. When Obama repeatedly said, “we are going to hit the ground running” some of us understood that to mean that the government would try to pass their liberal agenda as fast as they possibly could. When he said that he would rather be a great one term president than a mediocre two term president, some of us realized that he doesn’t care if he is a one term president as long as the fabric of this country has been changed to socialism.
Most Cuban-Americans that have been here for the last 20 to 50 years will tell you that ‘they have seen this movie before’. Castro also spoke of change and was very charismatic in his day. Castro was and is very anti-american just like Obama seems to be, ashamed of his country…. he has apologized to everyone in the world, and their dogs and bowed to foreign leaders. The people in Cuba who believed Castros’s lies, them and their posterity are still stuck there and living without any hope of change.

The Senate bill was passed with a SIXTY vote super majority. If/when the House passes the EXACT same Senate bill it will then go to the President for his signature and become law. At that point the reconciliation of specific aspects of that new law would take place back in the Senate with a simple majority needed to pass the fixes. Reconciliation is not some voodoo process, it has been used 21 times since 1980 – mostly by Republicans – including the Bush tax cuts that have burned through 1 trillion dollars and continue to add to the national debt.
We have a despot in the White House. He will incrementally take control of our lives until we are no different than Venezuela.

Ok, let me say that I am an independent conservative and from everything I have heard from the conservative camp, I have been adamantly opposed to this bill. However, I have not heard much more than empty rhetoric and band aid alternatives from Republicans, who I usually agree with.
I watched the youtube scare video listed above in someone’s comments, I even watched it over and over, pausing it and typing in all the pages and sections it listed and what it was supposed to be. This took about 20 minutes and then went to the page mentioned at the end of the video. The page was not correct and did not link through. I then did a search on the House of Reps website and found the original bill. The pages listed on the video did not seem to match up, but I did a search on the various topic items he had mentioned, such as coverage for illegal aliens, end of life care, etc. What I read seemed to contradict what was in the video, specifically saying that there would be NO coverage for illegals or forced end of life rationing.

Now let me say this fellow conservatives: I do not want big government in my life, but I have no problem getting some reigning in of outrageous health care costs. As a small business woman, I have had to buy individual coverage that cost me hundreds of dollars per month and has very little coverage. I am truly sick of having to worry about whether to go to the doctor or emergency room because of the bills that I’ll end up paying, such as $3000 last year in bills not covered by my insurance, in addition to the $2800 for my insurance coverage payments. And this company AARP United Health, is constantly denying me benefits and limiting what they will pay. For example they will pay either the cost of mammograms and ultrasounds, OR the cost of the doctor’s reading of the tests, but NOT BOTH, which is outrageous. I just returned from England, and although they do have some problems with their system (I read the papers there) everyone (fellow conservatives/tories) I spoke to in over a monththere said they were very happy with their system and so glad they don’t have to worry about bill and losing their houses and every thing they have worked for their entire lives because of cancer or a serious illness (which I worry about all the time having it run in my family along with diabetes).
For those who keep labeling it the evil socialism, then think about this fact someone pointed out to me when I was saying the same thing: How is it different than the already existent Medicare, Medicaid for low income folks, or social security? Right now if you are poor or old, you don’t have to worry. But as a 54 year old woman trying to run her own business, I do. A lot. I don’t mind paying into a govt. program or a regulated private one, or even paying higher taxes as they do in England, as long as I can stop worrying about going to the doctor or losing everything I have worked hard for all my life while watching all my doctors driving around in BMW’s and Mercedes and whining about getting sued. –Isabella Garcia

If we manage to make it through the next three years still standing the country as a whole is definitely going to be a bit weary and punch drunk. Politicians and people who think like him are going to find it hard to do anything for at least a generation. Perhaps two.
As the days pass by I begin to understand what my dad put up with during the Carter years. Problem is what Obama is doing surpasses what Carter did and Obama is just past his first year.
I really hope things work out. But seeing things as I see them I can’t help but feel like I am living through the collapse of our country. At this point the only way to fix this mess is to press the reset button. Take it to the ballot box and try to effect change through the inside. This is our last chance to do so.

The fact is that Health Care Reform has already been passed by the House and a Supermajority in the Senate. So the idea of passing health care reform through reconciliation is simply not true. Even people who support the general notion of health care “reform” have got to appreciate that this bill is a cobbled-together monstrosity that nobody understands, and it’s being rammed down the throat of a country that sees the lawmaking process has gone out of control. With the economy in shambles and the world in dire straits, this administration has ignored our core problems and frittered away its first critical year in desperate pursuit of a political agenda (health care, cap & trade) that are detrimental to rebuilding the economy. It happened in 1975, when the Democrat-controlled Senate changed the Senate rules to sixty votes to invoke cloture. The prior “magic math” had been two thirds of the Senators present.
The thing not to forget here is that the country wants and the industries need health care reform.
If you ask people about the particulars of the health care reform bill, the vast majority of the country is for it. That is, once you get past the media and regressive spin calling it socialized medicine and the other misinformation chatter. Americans like and want the particulars in this bill.

May I suggest that we begin by agreeing that the United States Constitution should remain the supreme law of our land, and that the principles of the country’s founders; property rights, personal liberty, free markets, and a strictly limited Constitutional Republican form of government should remain intact?

We need health reform, we need to be better than 50th in life expectancy, better than cuba in infant mortality, and actually take care of our people. When my brother who lost his job because of a medical condition – is shunned and left to fend for himself – the system is broken. So, instead of having a comprehensive excellent piece of legislation, we are going to get the legislation that the Democrats have come up with and it’s going to be passed the way the founders intended, with a majority vote. With respect, the first part of your sentence is too broadly stated, and is pretty much meaningless on it’s own. The devil is in the details. It always is.
As to the second part, you are correct in that Republican Senators at least, are not on board with this particular legislation. Not even the RINOs, like McCain, Collins, Snowe, Gregg, Graham, et al. That should give some indication that perhaps the bill is perhaps too partisan. Let’s not be coy here. There’s no doubt that partisan politics is in play here for both sides. But the GOP did introduce their proposal for a health care plan, in 2009. They also favor tort reform, as a way to reduce coasts. And we can thank George W. Bush for the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. But for you to say that Republicans don’t wish to be part of the health care reform process in general, is simply false.

I too believe it’s time to stop the muckraking and try to do politics via intelligent discussion and perspective. Yes this health care thing is going to be tricky, even after it is made into law.
The main reason I stand behind it is because our offense (defense) budget seems to be many times greater than the moneys we spend on helping people and giving all our citizens a fair chance to thrive and succeed. The Regressives seem to think that anyone who is poor is just plain lazy. I really don’t see this as the case. I see the issue as being far more complex than that. The wealthy pay their employees so poorly that they are forced to aquire socialized health care and other forms of public assistance just to stay afloat. Then when the country wants to raise taxes to cover the massively growing demand for such things, the wealthy freak out. I believe some of this is greed, okay, well most of these problems stem from extreme greed, but some of them are just inflation pains…and of course inflation is caused by some of the same issues with greed etc. People just have to learn that if they are going to rely on a large number of people to help them gain their wealth, they have a responsibility to those people in return.
The days of slavery are over, much to the dismay of some. These people also need to remember that money and ambition isn’t everything. You don’t HAVE to have 17 homes! or 11 Ferraris! There IS such thing as enough luxury! Especially when there are people dying in the streets because of your greed. We CAN give up a small percentage of our greed so that others may have SOME small quality of life. It’s fine if people want to be lazy and poor, but most of the time misfortune is what causes people to have a lube-free adventure from behind via big health care! WE just need to restore a LITTLE balance to this world so that the majority rules again and not just the elite. It’s time for the working class to make the economy work for THEM!

Not true actually. Using 2008 OMB data:

Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, and “safety net” programs, that’s 51 percent of the budget. Interest on the national debt accounted for 9%, and surely some, if not most of that debt is due to unfunded or underfunded entitlements. If we presume, just the 51%, it still far outweighs the 22% that was spent on the budget in FY 2008. So it’s incorrect to say that we spend more on “offense” than we do helping people.
Now with that said, if you are saying that you would prefer to see us reverse our interventionist foreign policy, stop trying to police the world, and reap the financial benefits of doing such, then we agree. However, that does not mean that we should divert those funds to a socialist health care system. It means we should use it to keep the promises we’ve made, pay down our debts, restore the economy and the dollar, and reduce the size and scope of the Federal government.

I really appreciate comments like this one. Because they reflect what most people observe:
The strong negatives that get circulated concerning health care reform has the parrots who absorb the lies and then just repeat them over and over. When I hear republicans speak it’s like they have all been given
the same script to repeat over. I never listen usually to any talk radio and yesterday I happened to and the entire time on this local station all people did was called in and bash Obama. It’s like that was the
only purpose for the show. I’m glad there is not democrats out there doing the same thing it shows more intelligence by not doing this negative talk show stuff. We need health care reform and many people have
devoted their valuable time to see that we get this as people are really dying because of this. It’s been decades and many Presidents have tried to get this passed. If we had honest debate instead of the name
calling and out right fabrications it would be a honest way of deciding on important issues but that is not the way things are being done.
It’s not about right and wrong, it’s about figuring out something that works. Health care is NOt WORKING right now. 90% of the people on here sound like parrots! That is why I appreciate you NOQTR4TR8RS. You are making an intelligent argument rather than just spreading hate and fear. Obama’s plan might not be the best way to make a difference, but I think we can all at least agree on the fact that SOMETHING has to be done! The cost of living (especially Health Care) is OUT OF CONTROLL!

I also thought this was a well written and well thought out reaction to Palin’s angry ignorant way of presenting her case:
Let me state clearly for the record: today’s tea party movement as manifested in Tennessee is a travesty that has completely moved away from what originated during the presidential campaign of 2008. What started as a grassroots effort in the Ron Paul campaign to support basic, fundamental values of freedom and small government has turned into an anti-libertarian, pro-neo-conservative revival meeting. The emerging leader in this effort is Sarah Palin.
Palin spoke at the so-called National Tea Party Convention. After waiting for Palin to smooze the attendees in Nashville who paid a minimum of $350 to hear her “I’m just like you” rhetoric, I was glad to see that she finally started to touch on issues. Too bad the first issue she raised was the wrong issue, the second issue she raised had the wrong prescriptions, and the most important issue she raised she ultimately, but artfully, reduced to more smoke-and-mirrors.
War on Terror – Palin’s Top Priority
Her first issue was calling terrorism “terrorism”. This was a clear broadside against a very vague Obama administration policy of attempting to defuse the War on Terror. Nowhere in her comments did she even come close to admitting that the War on Terror has been a dismal failure. To the contrary, without hardly even mentioning George Bush by name, she made it clear that, in her view, our country’s top priority should be to deny that terrorists have rights and to insist that the War on Terror be called the War on Terror. Like other neo-conservatives before her, she distorted and ignored inconvenient facts to support her view.
She made a big stink about the Christmas underwear bomber being interviewed for “only 50 minutes” before being read his Miranda rights…which she claims terrorists do not deserve to have. She stated that the interrogation ended at that point, and no new information came forth thereafter.
Three days before her speech, the major news outlets quoted the FBI as saying that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is talking to authorities again and providing “useful, actionable” intelligence. In other words, the suspect, after being apprised of his Constitutional rights, has been “chirping like a bird” to borrow an old cliche, providing the exact kinds of information Palin was claiming we would have liked to know. We’re getting the answers she said she wants, but apparently she’s not listening.
What made him talk? Was it treating him as a terrorist without rights? No, as it turns out, what made the difference was bringing in his family to convince him to talk. In other words, defusing the situation created successful results.
Palin knew about this news, so why did she behave as if it didn’t exist? There’s only one possible reason: she’s a neo-conservative, and she’s pushing a neo-conservative agenda. The truth doesn’t matter to her anywhere near as much as neo-conservative rhetoric matters to her. Instead, she believes in inciting people to anger for the purpose of promoting big government spending on defense and big government intervention in the world’s affairs, all while claiming to be an advocate of free enterprise and smaller government. This is diametrically the opposite of what Ron Paul argued in 2008 (as he has all his life). It is the opposite of what the 2008 “tea party” was all about.
Sadly, her audience applauded. In fact, they gave her a standing ovation when she criticized the idea that terrorists have “our American Constitutional rights”. The attendees’ response to Palin could not be clearer…they agreed that any person who is charged with a terrorism-related crime is not and should not be protected by the U.S. Constitution. Never mind that no trial has yet taken place. Open, public trials are irrelevant to justice or to defending the Constitution, in their view.
“Treating [terrorism] as a law enforcement matter puts our country at great risk,” she declared passionately and emotionally. At risk of what? She left that question unanswered. Instead, she pressed on saying, “because that’s not how radical Islamic extremists are looking at this. We know we’re at war, and to win that war we need a commander-in-chief, not a professor of law standing at the lectern.” That’s pure neo-con rhetoric.
C-Span helped underline the neo-conservative takeover by claiming in their on-screen captions that the tea party movement began in 2009 in response to the Obama administration’s policies, presumably because of the Glenn Beck broadcasts that called for a “9/12″ movement. In this way, even C-Span ignored the fact that it was the grassroots of the Ron Paul campaign who, on December 16, 2008, the 235th anniversary of the original Boston Tea Party, raised over $6 million for their candidate, thereby crowning the real, already existing tea party movement.
Let there be no mistake here. Palin made it clear that she opposes treating acts of terrorism as “an international crime spree” (once again to wild applause). She very much prefers treating them as “acts of war”. Yet, it is the treatment of such crimes as “war” which have given the terrorists a status they could never have achieved on their own: that of being enemy combatants instead of scummy criminals. The whole point of treating them as criminals is to lower their status, to reduce their impact, to undermine their support. Neo-conservatives oppose treating terrorists as criminals because doing so undermines their preference to spend as much money as possible on “defense” (a euphemism they use which really means “offense”) and to introduce American troops into world affairs in as many ways as possible.
Obama’s Foreign Policy
She next went on to identify what she called the results of the Obama administration’s foreign policy, as follows:
“North Korea tested its developing missiles.”
Never mind that these missiles were developed when Bush and the neo-cons were in charge.
“Israel…now questions the strength of our support.”
Yes, what a shame that we’ve created a small amount of diplomatic distance from their anti-Palestinian tyranny. In her view, we should be burying the Palestinians or herding them into the equivalent of prisoner of war camps instead of treating them a bit more civilly.
“Plans for a missile defense system in Europe were scrapped.”
Yes, what a shame that American taxpayers won’t be required to fund Europe’s missile defense on European soil, given that the system she referred to was supposed to be built by the Pentagon at American taxpayer expense, not by the European Union at European expense. At the same time, she had nothing to say about Obama’s plan to put a similar missile system on U.S. ships rather than within the borders of Eastern European countries, where Palin wants them to go.
“Relations with China and Russia are no better.”
Does she mean as opposed to what happened under the Bush administration?
“Relations with Japan, that key Asian ally, are in their worst shape in years.”
Really? Based on what evidence? The only evidence I could find of any dissatisfaction with America in Japan had to do with three key topics: (a) the financial crisis created under the Bush administration, (b) the fact that Japan’s conservative movement has taken big hits of late, losing tremendous ground in their own government, and (c) the fact that the Obama administration is reducing America’s military presence in Okinawa. What a pity that Obama is actually hinting that the Japanese should assume responsibility for their own defense. Palin’s rhetoric has “neo-con” written all over it.
“People who are seeking freedom from oppressive regimes wonder if Alaska is still that beacon of hope for their cause.”
What was this weird rhetoric all about? It was about supporting Iranian dissent. What Alaska has to do with it, other than being Palin’s home state, I have no idea. What I do suspect is that such “support” from Palin’s point of view will eventually involve intervention in Iran, because that would also be clear neo-con strategy. She didn’t actually come out for such action, referring instead to a preference for “sanctions on Iran”, while completing ignoring the fact that the long history of economic sanctions is largely effective at strengthening anti-liberty regimes.
Once again, the attendees applauded her.
She also made a comment that we would do well to remember. “Democracies don’t go to war with each other. They resolve their disputes peacefully.” Not only is this not true historically (see the entire 19th and 20th centuries for references), but it’s likely to not be true in the future. Count on the neo-cons to get around this inconvenient fact as time goes on by redefining the word “democracy” to mean any country that’s on their side and “tyranny” to be any country that stands in their way.
She then did a typical neo-con bait-and-switch. She quoted JFK saying that we can’t put all the blame for the world’s problems on the previous administration. Then she followed this up by saying we need to return to the principles of protecting the Constitution and small, limited government. What a crock! It was the previous administration which sent the Constitution and small, limited government into the sewer.
Sadly, the Obama administration set her up for this argument over the past year by carrying out the bailout and spending policies of the Bush administration to the nth degree, thereby (in her view) relieving Bush and his followers of all responsibility for their actions.
Bailouts
Well, it took her awhile, but she finally got to the most important issue of all. She turned to domestic issues by saying, “Washington has replaced private irresponsibility with public irresponsibility.” Would this be a turn to true limited government rhetoric? Not exactly.
“The list of companies and industries that the government is crowding out and bailing out and taking over continues to grow. First it was the banks, mortgage companies, financial institutions, and automakers. Soon, if they have their way, health care, student loans… Today, in the words of Congressman Paul Ryan, ‘The $700 Billion TARP has morphed into crony capitalism at its worst.”‘
Morphed? What does she mean morphed? The TARP bailout, instituted by the Bush administration WAS crony capitalism at its worst! If she doesn’t like what Obama has done, she should be criticizing what Bush did as well, because the Bush administration laid the groundwork for the whole bailout paradigm in the first place.
This isn’t true small government rhetoric. This is co-opted rhetoric, used for the purpose of nudging the tea party movement back into the Republican camp while ignoring the Republicans’ role in the creation of the problems she proposes to address. This isn’t merely political posturing. This is a rewriting of history, a naked attempt to sway libertarian-leaning voters who backed Ron Paul in the hopes they will return to the old Reagan-era coalition with social conservatives and Christian evangelicals, to once again use libertarian-leaning voters to support a neo-conservative agenda to put Republicans back into power.
She played the “bailout bonuses” card while she studiously ignored the fact that the monetary and banking system itself rewards irresponsible behavior by bankers. I used to think that she just doesn’t get it. Now, I’m certain that she does get it. She knows that fiat money is the root cause of the entire mess, and she supports fiat money. The bonuses red herring has long been used to distract America’s attention from the real, root causes of the crises, and Palin is completely on board. She’s proudly taken her place on the smoke-and-mirrors platform.
“Where are the consequences to the top financial leaders for helping to get us into the worst economic situation since the Great Depression? Where are the consequences?” she asked, ignoring the fact that it’s the federal government nearly 100 years before which empowered the banks to do exactly what they did. The banks and the banking system did exactly what they were designed to do. They expanded the monetary system as a method of economic expansion by driving people into debt. Then, when the consequences hit the fan, the Republicans bailed them out. Palin, in other words, wants to scapegoat the bank presidents by pretending that they were rogue operators working outside the system, when in fact they were nothing of the sort. They worked the system as it was designed to work.
Once again, the clueless delegates applauded, while Palin masterfully used rhetoric about “the 10th amendment” and “dollars created out of thin air” to continue to seduce them.
It’s a strange paradox. One of the favorite bits of rhetoric that emerged repeatedly from the Ron Paul Revolution was the persistent cry that the people behave like sheep. How many of the attendees at this convention had uttered that complaint themselves in the past? Yet, here they were, offering themselves to be shorn by the first neo-con to utter throwaway rhetoric that sounds good to the untrained ear if you don’t listen closely enough.
There was a mildly amusing moment when she claimed (admitted?) that her own veto of legislation to accept Washington bailout funds was overridden by a Republican state legislature. Sadly no one laughed as they should have at the fact that Palin wasn’t governor when the bailout funds were presented to Alaska. The delegates didn’t even laugh at the fact that Palin admitted that she couldn’t even keep her own party’s legislators in line as governor. Most importantly, none of the delegates laughed in recognition of the fact that Palin had a long history of accepting Washington’s handouts when she was governor of Alaska. Instead, they remained dutifully and respectfully quiet, as they always do when their heroine once again put her foot in her mouth.
The above covers only the first 20 minutes or so of an hour long exercise in windbagging. I didn’t have the stomach to watch any more of it.
I believe there are many people in the revolution who are revolted by Palin and her neo-conservative handlers and supporters. They’d better take back the tea party movement pretty darn soon if they don’t want to be relegated to insignifance and obscurity, because the neo-cons are clearly playing for keeps.

What I don’t get is why the right doesn’t think we need health reform. It would be easier to pass a bill if the right brought some viable options to the table instead of playing the partisan politics game. My family pays approx $500/month for health insurance and it is not a good plan, have over 1K in out of pocket expenses until we finally get to copays. This is ridiculous for a family of 4 where the husband and wife work full time and pull in a combined total of 58k gross a year. We are making more payments a month to doctors and hospitals than we are for our house utilities…where does insurance come into play? And all those dr/hospital bills are for a new baby and typical dr visits, nothing out of the ordinary. I don’t get it, I try to understand the right…heck I even voted Bush to his 2nd term but now that I am out of college, married, working, and having my bills to pay every month I am realizing how tough it is and how changes need to be made. We don’t live outside of our means but struggle paycheck to paycheck figuring out how to pay the bills. Where is our help at…if we were a little poorer we would get govt assistance and if we were a little richer we would be a little better off, but we are stuck in the worst spot and from what I see and hear so are many other Americans…we need some reform and changes…does my family not matter?

I see you’ve chosen to disregard the many questions I posed to you in response to your post of March 4th, 2010 – 2:43 pm. Guess you really aren’t interested in a serious, civil discussion after all. You insult conservatives for not wishing to discuss anything. Then, when I chose to engage you in a civil manner, asking direct questions, and giving direct honest responses, you turn a deaf ear, end the conversation abruptly, and resort to one-sided speeches, and changing the subject. It is very typical of the current type of blind partisanship and hypocrisy that has become the norm. You disappoint me, Scott, but I can’t honestly say that you surprise me.
That’s why I posted an article with similar questions and answers! Looks like the economy is really starting to turn around! I can honestly barely keep up with work the past month or two, it’s getting crazy! Whatever Obama is doing, I hope he keeps it up! Anyone else make a KILLING on the market today? I did.

okay not to give the repubs a pass when it comes to lobyists, but Obama has made deals with pharmaceutical companies, Unions, and who knows who else. Lobyists on both sides is the problem and why most people have a hard time trusting politicans to do the right thing.
