How many Americans have died for freedom of Americans and other men, only to have elected a radical Marxist that is taking it away. What are you going to do about it?

Mad Jewess   March 23rd, 2010 - 8:15 pm

Tx, it says in the Christian New Testament that there will be ‘false Christs’ right? He is a false Christian.

Mad Jewess   March 23rd, 2010 - 8:18 pm

Listen to his voice. Be careful, this is like a strong delusion.

Lovecraft   March 23rd, 2010 - 8:21 pm

He seemed sensible for the first bit,but when casting such a wide net over churches, avoiding the mention of temples and mosques immediately raised red flags. Sounded like a classic shakedown, cloaked in terms of justice.

Now as for the Bible and how we should redistribute wealth, perhaps these faith-based, non-profit organizations would be able to thrive if they had the full support of the state, but the state has its hands in these pies too and can drown out their voice. Also, if we weren’t burdened by high taxation, national debt, moribund entrepreneurial class, and Political Correctness, justice could very well be allowed to flourish.

LizardLips   March 23rd, 2010 - 8:26 pm

Sounds like Mr. Obama’s point man on the war against Christianity. Jesus never spoke out against wealth, except to say that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it would for a rich man to get into heaven. In other words, he can’t buy his way into heaven. This man is a charlatan and fraud.

When you open the gospels of Matthew, Mark or Luke and read that Jesus went into the towns and villages preaching the good news of the gospel, it is interesting that you don’t find him saying, “I died on the cross for your sins! I was buried! I rose on the third day!” And since he did not say this, I guess he was preaching an OTHER gospel….OR, you have misunderstood what Jesus really preached and have simply reduced it to being some pamphlet talking-point to be passed out on peoples’ doorsteps.

Remember, you get an exemption base on Religious beliefs and won’t be fined if you refuse obammie care. Everybody should claim the rexemption. For those of you that have small businesses and now have to provide health care – it is going to cost you an arm and a leg, so when you have to fire or lay someone off make sure its the ones with the obamma bumper stickers. The Widow’s Mite
Bible Story
And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: for all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Mark xii, 13-17

Now after that, Jesus ordered his disciples to go and threaten other people to give the poor widow woman all of their money.

_____

Ok, ok that last line I made up, but from what this idiot says, that is how he reads the Bible. I don’t think Jesus would have ever advocated theft in any manner.

He must be scrubbing up with the same loofah Bill O’Reilly is.

Keefer Hazlewood   March 23rd, 2010 - 9:32 pm

My interpretation of the Bible, and especially the New Testament, is that wealth does not equal good moral character and that the love of money may lead to evil. It demands that we be fair and honest. It also calls upon us to help the less fortunate. But, to my knowledge, it does NOT CALL FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH.

LIB   March 23rd, 2010 - 9:39 pm

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. – Acts 4:33-35

Yes, from each according to his means, to each according to his need. That was the early church of Acts. Hmmm, didn’t somebody else once say something like this? Oh yeah. His name was Marx!

Lynn   March 23rd, 2010 - 9:54 pm

Our freedom is speech is next. Look at what happened Ann coulter when she was speaking in Canada. The conservatives are now hated and the marxists are welcomed in this country. We have been sleeping and sending our kids to school and letting the government raise our children, and this is what happened. We have put our faith in our two parties and they are leading us in the same direction.

Michael Carano   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:08 pm

I was reading the responses at this site, and all I can say is it is pretty scary. It seems that critical thinking is a lost art in America. The social dimension of Jesus’s Gospel was always clear: feed the hungry, clothe the nakes, visit the sick. The Good Samaritan story: against prejudice and for taking care of one another regardless of who they are; the Beatitudes: blessed are those who seek peace and justice (in a nutshell); his miracles about healing: provide for the physical and mental needs of those who sufer; His many actions against the legalism and the letter of the Law: live by the spirit of the law by action; Freedom and salvation: that which you get when you have the metanoia experience and begin seeing things with new eyes.

Without the last thing, Christianity is just another club that people can self-righteously cling to and in ignorance believe they are better than others. Jesus was a radical as shown by his ideas, but for many modern Christians it is all about rigid confomrity. Dorothy Day of the Catholic Worker had it right–the Right has it wrong.

Michael to Lynn   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:20 pm

Lynn, The Bush administration did more to clamp down on our freedoms than many will ever know. The Patriot Act is not about protecting us from those beyond our borders who want to do our nation wrong. It is about controlling the masses within our borders when they finally wake up and realize that the corporate/monied interests have and are draining the resources of the middle class by the top five percent in the last 30 years (since Reagan). Public education once educated our children to be thinking adults. Charter schools and the No Child Left Behind legislation of Bush (the intentionally unfunded mandate) will be the death knell for our once proud educational system, and it will turn out a lesser person unable to parse the falsehoods of those who manipulate the masses. The two parties have one head, and with that I agee. That head is the head of Mammon and shareholder profit, capitalism run amok. Jesus would turn over the tables of the money changers, and I am afraid would be ridiculed and discriminated against by many on this board. The would probably call him a dirty Marxist.

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:21 pm

The wording is “incorrect”…redistribution…is taking from one to give to another and that is wrong.

What a man works for is his…and it is his to give away as he sees fit!

GOD asks a believer, and asked all the Jews in the Old Testament, to give 10% of what they have and they would be blessed for ’sharing’ not redistributing!

Every church that I have ever known that has a “Christ” centered belief gives to help the poor and underprivileged…every church!

Even World Vision that I had opportunity to volunteer for years ago…had a mission not to enlist Americans to redistribute their wealth…but to ’share’ their wealth and they did!

That ad he mentioned…had nothing wrong with it! It only meant to remind Americans that by giving what they could to ’share’ their wealth…they would be changing the lives of many who had no wealth!

GOD never demanded that we redistribute our wealth.

If you want to look at organizations that ‘redistributed the wealth’ you need look no further than the Jim Jones compound for all worked for all and not for one.

They truly distributed the wealth amongst each other! When they joined the group, they took everything they owned and redistributed it to all! It is a ‘hippe’ commune theory that does not work!

The best society is the society that works for their own wealth and then out of the goodness of their hearts they give to others…and Americans always have from the poorest amongst us to the richest amongst us have done just that…that is what has made America great!

There is no reason that Americans should be poor!

The role of government is not to take all and redistribute what we work for…but when we pay our fair share of taxes due they distribute it responsibly and they are not! They foolishly waste millions every year! Just recently they lost $70 billion of TARP money with no explanation…how many poor citizens could that feed and house?

Wake up…America…just because a man/woman has a title behind their name identifying them as a soldier of Christ…does not mean they are such and are declaring the right thing!

If this particular man is promoting redistribution of wealth by taking from those who work for it to give to those who cannot, he is wrong…even Holy Scriptures tell us that a ‘man is worthy of his hire’!

No man/woman is perfect. I believe it was Biggy Munn (sp?) Coach of U of M who said…”no man is perfectly useless he can always be used as a bad example”!

Government is a jealous god. I wonder if any of these “Christians” are familiar with the words “as you sow, so shall ye reap” or that we are required to earn our daily bread “by the sweat of our brow?” Jimmy Carter tried to blur the distinction between Christian charity and socialism, too. Funny how selective these government-worshippers are about the separation of church and state except when it supports owning other human beings and all the other evil that comes with that. I seem to remember Jesus having said also that the poor will always be among us. The statement wasn’t qualified with anything like “…unless a man from Kenya passes himself off as the Messiah, with the help of an absolutely corrupt media, and provides bread and circuses for all of those who would be forced by government to carry those who won’t take care of themselves.

torah2   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:26 pm

Lib,

Since you know your bible so well, you also know that those who belonged to that “early Church” had joined it VOLUNTARILY, and could leave it at any time. These were people WILLINGLY selling all that they had and GIVING it to their CHURCH. They did not sell it and give it to Rome, or to their neighbors-they gave it to the Apostles. And it was given to those OF THE CHURCH CONGREGATION.

Marx didn’t care whether you wanted to belong to a certain community or not-you had no choice. Marx didn’t care whether you were willing or not. Marx didn’t even believe in God.

Educate yourself or stop lying.

Roger   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:29 pm

It seems that nobody ever remembers the situation in which the woman pours oil over Jesus and Judas rebukes her. He says that she could have sold the oil and given it to the poor. Jesus then rebukes Judas saying that the poor will always be with us. So, Judas, not Jesus, was the radical redistributionist.

There is a case, however, to be made for ridding us of the federal reserve, because the bankers and their friends get easy money by gaming the federal reserve system and this does lead to many people on the other end of the economic spectrum from being able to get enough wealth to keep themselves well. I don’t covet what they have, but rather think the system is set up favor the big bankers. Obama is doing nothing to stop this. Ron Paul would.

Michael   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:49 pm

Roger, you are on to something there. I suggest we start state owned banks and put the people before profit. I think one of the Dakotas has one, and it does a marvelous job of putting the interests of the people first. Ron Paul is good on some things, but by his being a social conservative he misses the mark. He probably likes police and fire protection, maybe even when to public school and public libraries, drank public water, and drove on public roads, all examples of what we do for one another to make a better world for all of us.

torah2   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:53 pm

Michael Carano-that you think you belong to a group of “critical thinkers” is the scariest thing yet! The moment you linked yourself to the progressive movement you lost all credibility as a thinker OR a Christian.

You worship a God of your own making, a false God. The Jesus of the bible was loving and charitable BUT He also said “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth; I come not to send peace but a sword”. The Jesus the bible speaks of ALSO plans to return and crispy fry a whole lotta people. That will be pretty radical to you won’t it?

Michael   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:56 pm

Stinky, if you think Obama is a Marxist or a Socialist, you have a lot to learn about the politcal spectrum. Obama is a Center-Right politician. HIs health care plan is all Republican-like in its major parts. Like Bill Clinton, Obama sides with the corporations. NAFTA and the rescinding of the Glass-Steagell Act came under Clinton. And Obam has put in the corporated stooges by having Timothy Geithner, Summers, and Bernancke on board, all of whom could have been nominated and chosen by Republicans if the opportunity came up. Obama would have to go quite a long way to even get close to the Socialist designation you want to assign to him. There is nothing wrong with beng a newbie to politics, but I caution you to listen and learn for a while first and you will not make such ludicrous remarks. I don’t imagine you are a Birther too, are you?

Michael   March 23rd, 2010 - 10:58 pm

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty, what do you think about the 708 billion dollar military budget? If we include all the costs for the national security state )NSA, CIA, Homeland Securtiy, etc) it is over 1 trillion a year, every year. Do you think it fiscally responsible to have hundreds of military bases in 120 countries around the world. You know, it gets pretty expensive running a global economic empire. The British, the Romans, the Autria, and the Russians all found out, and crumbled as a result. We cannot do anything at home for our people without hearing the Right cry about spending, yet they never question the military budget. War seems to be a good business that thrives. Just ask Kellogg Brown and Root, Halliburton, and Blackwater. http://www.nationalpriorities.org/

Obama is a committed marxist. People how knew him in college have come forward and talked about it. You won’t ever see them on MSM. Dr. John C. Drew was a fellow marxist in college, later out grew it, and says Obama was way into it and went into community organizing because that was the career path for marxists after college.

Not a conspiracy, just the way some ignorant stupid people still think because they never got the memo from the 20th century that marxist and socialism have worked and killed more people than small pox.

What does this guy think creates the prosperity that he thinks should be shared in the first place?

Do you know what a socialist or a marxist is? Have you ever met one? They would not call Obama anywhere close to where they are. The falsehoods that many believe really has me worried about thr future of our nation.

billydakidd   March 24th, 2010 - 12:11 am

Obama IS a marxist!!! He is using every tool at his disposal to bring down the country as quickly as possible and trying to disguise it as a catastrophy that he inherited. Of course he’s using big corporations… he needs to make the middle class suffer first. He will make life so difficult for us, while at the same time send us a life line, so that we can all see how great he is. He wants our dependency to be on government. He has just taken away our ability to get ourselves the healthcare that we want. He’s just created a situation where he will “be forced” to nationalize for our wellbeing after insurance companies are forced to increase premiums. But not until after we have been drained dry of our money. He wants to destroy our lives and degrade our living conditions, so that our lifestyles are more inline with the rest of the world.

Funny how social justice doesn’t include any type of plan for helping these poor nations to rise up and build better lives for themselves… it always includes degrading and ruining the lives of generally happy and productive peoples. Strange, considering how they want us to help others.

When you are on an airplane, they tell you incase of an emergency, put your own oxygen mask on first and then proceed to help others. Obama and his marxist friends are telling us to take our oxygen masks off because nobody else has put theirs on!

Mike   March 24th, 2010 - 12:17 am

The statements given by Jim Wallis in that video are very telling in regards to his Christian “mentality.” He flat out says he’s both a Marxist and a radical. Well then, what is a Marxist? A Marxist is somehow who shares the same philosophical ideals as Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, who also wrote “The Communist Manifesto.” A Marxist is a Communist plain and simple. By Jim Wallis emphatically stating that he is a Marxist he is also saying he is Communist. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels were both known “atheists” and atheism is inherent in the teachings of Marxism. Karl Marx said that religion was an “opiate” of the people. Vladimir Lenin (an avowed Communist) was highly critical of religion, saying in his book Religion: “Atheism is a natural and inseparable part of Marxism, of the theory and practice of scientific socialism.” Therefore, these statements are conclusive evidence that Jim Wallis is NOT a “true” Christian at all, in my opinion, but simply “cloaking” himself in “religion” to accomplish and carry out his Communistic beliefs and ideals. What Jim Wallis is espousing is NOT true Christianity at all but merely “scientific socialism” as Vladimir Lenin stated (’social justice’ in Wallis’ words) and Jim Wallis is simply doing it in the ‘name’ (under the guise) of Christianity in my opinion. If you call yourself a Christian and in the same breath claim to also be a Marxist (Communist) you cannot be considered a “true” Christian according to the “tenets” of Marxism that emphatically states that “atheism” is ‘inseparable’ to the Marxist (Communist) belief system.

So it is only natural that Barack Hussein Obama would pick Jim Wallis as his “adviser” on wealth redistribution because Obama is a Socialist and believes in ’spreading the wealth around’ and by all accounts he is also a Marxist as well. Obama couldn’t have spent “twenty years” in Marxist/Racist/Radical Jeremiah’s Wrights church without all of that Marxist teaching rubbing off on Obama as well, in my opinion. I’m sure Jim Wallis and Barack Obama have hit it off very well i.e. one Marxist to another – like two peas in a pod. ;)

What I recommend Jim Wallis do is for him to once and for all renounce his Marxist beliefs, repent of his errant and wayward ways, and come to the true cross of Christ (which he has apparently so disdained of its real value and worth), and then ask Christ for forgiveness of his sins and for leading people astray in the ‘name’ (under the guise) of Christianity.

billydakidd   March 24th, 2010 - 12:18 am

Jesus said you will always have the poor with you in Mark 14:7 “For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.”

I don’t know what God this guy worships…but it certainly isn’t the God of the Bible…and he certainly doesn’t know my Jesus. Socialism is pure evil.

Michael   March 24th, 2010 - 12:29 am

So tell me Hwan, what is your God like and how do you know what he is like? And what makes your Jesus more authentic than the one that Jim Wallis sees in the pages of the New Testament? Last, if socialism is pure evil, do you think capitalism has some evil tendencies too? If so, what might they be? Let’s see what Hwan has to say of relevance.

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   March 24th, 2010 - 12:44 am

Dear Michael at 11:07 pm…I believe in the defense of our nation and helping our allies to be secure throughout the world!

During the Clinton years…many overseas bases were closed to save cost! I am sure that many more can be closed.

However, there are crucial bases throughout the world that have been sort of a “finger in the dike” preventing destruction to the areas they are in.

South Korea, Frankfurt, Okinawa, Guam…strategically placed for a specific region of the world!

We must maintain these bases to keep a foothold in the regions that are in hot spots!

And I believe that we don’t do enough to secure our own borders here in America and that should change…especially with the overflow of illegal immigration into our nation through Canada and Mexico!

However, most of the monies given to military defense is wasted! We have learned that through various procedures of expose’. As much waste as there is in healthcare, but that can be corrected if someone wants to correct it!

The fact is…like our existing healthcare…there are areas that need to be fixed…but no one is taking the time to fix them.

Instead they just complain and keep pouring more money into the pit of no return!

That is not taking caring of our tax monies responsibly. We should hold these politicians accountable for this waste of our money.

Redistributing the wealth of America is not the answer. We already give millions and millions to the government to do what is right…they just aren’t doing it right and that needs to be fixed. So it isn’t giving to them that is the problem…they have always had plenty…it is just that they are wasting our resources of wealth!

Making the government bigger won’t fix anything…it will just create more chaos and more opportunities for waste!

There is always, always a way to streamline and do things better and so they are more cost effective.

Because our government is already so big…the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing…and waste exists everywhere!

So instead of making government bigger…we should think more in the lines of streamlining and making due with what we have to make it more efficient and more cost effective.

We have the knowledge and the personnel with the knowledge to do it…we just are not doing it!

That needs to stop and we need to use the money we have to take care of Americans and our security while still helping others around the world who need help!

So it is not just the military budget…the government has the highest salaries now and the best healthcare…why?

We all have the answers…and so does Washington…it is just that no one wants to get it done…it’s easier just making it bigger in their eyes.

But this administration is intent on making us more dependent on the government, but once the businesses go out of business due to the increased taxes they are going to have to pay and they lay off the rest of America…where is the money going to come from for anything…let alone the military!

I stand with defense…we are foolish not to keep our defenses up…especially in the world we live in today!

But waste needs to be stopped…and the government needs to be a better steward of what they are given!

Pastors/Priests and leaders in the church are required to show responsibility to their parishoners who give of their tithes to support the services of the church…and so should the government!

Michael Cerano” As I read your description of Jesus Christ and His social ideas, please explain if you received them from a bible, and if so what bible were you reading.
And as for your comment on state owned banks, that is north dakota that has the only state owned bank, please enlighten me on how they put people before profit,
Now they do have great programs, they try to help you start your own business, but there in lies the money, or should I say no money, if you dont have any you aint going get any, they are still a bank.
And of course, you ask Hwan What is his God like, and I will explain from the bible. My God is a jealous God, He is the creator of all things, even you, His words are pure, He is my rock, all are wonderful gifts come from above, There is no way you can read the Bible and snort such garbage as wallis does, or any of these left wing monkeys, there is no such thing as tolerance, social rights, or queer marriage, giving my money to some doped up slob who will not even get off the couch and provide for his family.
So until you can give me some scripture to back up your vomit, you might as well shut up.

Michael. Marxists shifted to fifth column mode just before the fall of the Soviet Union. I witnessed this first hand in my home town in British Columbia. Head of the local Communist Party D. M. left for Venezuela to organize its people (her words) early in 1990. Her “job” in Nanaimo was two fold, Part Time government employee, part time minister at a local leftist church.

Experience with Obama’s two Marxist ministers, Wright, and Jim Wallis makes it clear our President was a manchurian candidate aided and abetted by an activist network with deep roots throughout America’s system.

My background is nursing. I worked as a RN for a dozen years before immigrating to the US. I grew up during the period in Canada when universal medicine was introduced. Within a decade Canadian medical research and development fell by 80% adjusted for inflation as profits were sucked up into medical consumption. Nurse patient ratio doubled. While people were no longer denied immediate care, the quality, duration, and level of technology quickly eroded compared to the US. Today for example women expecting twins, or more will likely have these children across the boarder if there is ANY chance something could go wrong. Canada’s Neonatal care is quite a bit behind what is standard in US hospitals. Drugs are another issue. While American leftist politicians love to harp about how expensive US drugs are, they never mention Canadian policy is basically one of poaching. law in Canada expires patent protection much faster in the US to basically steal intellectual property. (A bone of contention during NAFTA negotiations) Most of these changes occurred with British Healthcare after its introduction just after WWII. R+D investment will quickly drain away from American shores over the next decade as profit incentive dries up. Best estimate I can give is a loss of two to three million jobs, direct and indirect due to this single issue.

Prime Minister Trudeau, like Obama, honey coated estimates of universal healthcare costs, and focused on spreading care around to anyone who needed it. Didn’t quite work out that way. As time progressed politicians to appeal to voters wanted to present themselves as good stewards of the public purse. Result was scrimping everywhere starting with nursing ratio. In the case of Obama care, not reported too well in the media, the bill will cut Two Trillion Dollars out of Medicare in its second decade. Those savings slated for preventative programs, like smokers who quit, fail to consider all this does is move individuals into hospitals, life threatening diseases, or end of life care, two to three years later (best case scenario that the CBO accepted at face value). After there will be no savings going forward. A doughnut hole of the second kind. Something Dr. Krauthammer pointed out on Fox, and I have witnessed first hand.

Is Obama a bleeding red marxist? Not really. HIs thin record points more towards the term “useful idiot”. Looking into Obama’s background there has been no release of his transcripts. Even as Editor at Harvard Law Review Obama never issued a single article. One does not know what courses of instruction he took after graduating from High School. In Dreams of My Father, Ghostwritten by Bill Ayers and a troupe of assistants, Obama claimed he sought out Marxist professors, and radicals. One of his Columbia “mentors” was an anti jewish ex communist muslim English Lit prof, Edward Said. (Who could not spell English words like Business, Commander, or Expressive in a note he passed to a reporter in 1992.) Professor Said, and Obama were friends right up to the man’s death a few years ago. My post secondary experience tells me most Marxist professors, etc are concentrated in courses of instruction more closely aligned with basket weaving than scholastic achievement. A witness in Hawaii who attended Punahoe with Obama stated the President only received a C grade in Math 10, and stopped attending any courses involving sciences by grade 11. Remember Bush being harassed by the media for a C grade for 4th year calculus and statistics?

President Kennedy knew a communist when he saw one, and offered economic policies aimed at “raising all boats.” Obama seeks to sink capitalism quickly before most can get to a lifeboat, throwing them lifejackets of just enough government largesse to cajole, or force them economically into voting for a new elite that will run almost every aspect of their lives. That is obvious. More Fascist than marxist. Sort of like Castro who spent most of his university activist years researching Fascist, and Nazi material before finding communism was easier to sell to the masses. Wallis is just another exposure of who Obama really is. The fact Obama is “in no hurry” to sign an Executive Order to fix Stupak’s abortion problem shows the President, like all Marxists around him believes the ends justify the means. It was ok to lie to accomplish the camel’s nose in the tent of capitalism. A second marxist minister/mentor only affixes this reality more. Voters may not remember a single incident, or are willing to forgive an occasional misstep.(Clinton). Obama has gone much further than this. That is likely sealing him as a one term wonder, perhaps less if Republicans can take the Senate in November. If that occurs the first thing on the new majority’s agenda is impeachment based on Obama’s failure to protect the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. After using the reconciliation route Republican majorities in both Houses can overturn all this bad legislation, and more.

Some people compare Barack Hussein Obama to Adolph Hitler. Would the IRS be considered his Gestapo? Would SEIU and ACORN be considered his SS and would they become his civilian security force that is just as big, just as strong and just as well funded as our military? Would the Obama group, Organizing for America (OFA), which is recruiting high school students as interns to push his agenda or grade school children who are being indoctrinated into singing songs of praise about the “Obama” be compared with the Hitler Youth movement? Would the Main-Stream Media (Lame-Stream Media) be considered his propaganda wing? Obama is a proponent of partial birth abortion and infanticide, because as a State Senator in Illinois he was against an anti-infanticide bill and voted down the bill, which would have protected live-born survivors of abortion. In the recent healthcare debate he showed what a true despot he was and is when he used water as a means to bribe two representatives of California to change their vote to yes. It is truly an evil despicable act when people in position of power use water (or food) as a means to bribe someone for political gain. It is an act a third world dictator does to his people. So is there a comparison? You decide.

Wow, Breitbart thanks for Posting this, as an Christian(Reformed Baptist/Theology), I’m glad I never bought his books long ago. When I first came to Christ, I saw his books at stores, and was really into his ideas, before I understood Biblical Truth better. There are many well intended genuine Christian believers or of Evangelical persuasion, that out of innocent ignorance get wraped up in what Reformed Theologians call Neo-Progressive-Orthodoxy or the “Emergent Church” movement that is just an offshoot of Liberal-Orthodoxy that started to creep into the Western church around the late 1800’s or you could even trace it back to the 1600’s. From these doctrines(Greek root means “teachings”) there is a misunderstanding of what the true meaning of the Gospel is, which they basically think that Traditional Orthodox Theology is not enough for sinner, that the purpose of the Gospel is take care of the poor in the needy, by the means of Government interaction, while it is biblical to not ignore the poor, downtrodden, or distitute, it is not biblical to teach “the ends justifies the means” or “communistic Living”, socialistic goverment. Captilism is not “entirely” a Biblical concept either, the OT,and N.T doesn’t teach any of these ideas, the O.T times were Theocratically governed. Many American-Christian Evangelicals misunderstand these ideas because we live in 21st-Capilistic Free Democratic Republic, therefore we mold the context of our time into biblical context, which will confuse everything. When you really study the Bible for all it’s worth, you learn that Christ, did’nt come to save us from our Poverty,(although he did heal the sick, feed the hungary) he came to soveriegnlly save sinners from their sin and eternal seperation from God. The promoters of the “Social Gospel” are not telling the truth of the true Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Galations 2:6-9 the Apostle Paul teaches that “if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you recieved(Christ crucified, died, rose again on 3rd day, man is a sinner in need of Savior, if they repent and believe in faith, they are saved for etenity) he is to be accursed.” The Gospel that Jim Wallis teaches is false teaching. Implicit in the redistribution of wealth, is the inequality of mankind.

Matt Lamar   March 24th, 2010 - 9:42 am

The man completely left Freedom out of the question. In the past we have had the freedom to “be good”(redistribute wealth) or not. If I am thinking like this man, I say why bother with political systems at all? Why not just have one great world universal church which forces us to pay whatever percent of our income they deem necessary to cure the world’s ills?

LLL   March 24th, 2010 - 10:31 am

This man is so radical and Marxist, and with the WH knowing how hard Beck is targeting these type associates of the President, something is fishy here, maybe a red herring. While everyone is focusing on another radical Marxist in the WH, what is WH really doing?

From the looks of him, I wonder if he is sharing all his food. What a buffoon. And this is the President’s spiritual advisor? A confirmed marxist, no doubt communist. I tell you this country is in deep doo doo.

prehist51   March 24th, 2010 - 11:11 am

What all liberal, socialist, marxist, communist deliberately distort when trying to use scripture as their authority in supporting their wealth re-distribution is that the scripture never calls for, nor does Jesus ever call for the government to be the power that re-distributes wealth. Scripture does generously call for us to give joyfully to others. Scripture calls for us to feed, clothe, and take care of the poor, the widows and the prisoners. Matthew 25:35-40. The command is on the individual not government. Obama’s calls for responsible, charitable actions by Americans are good, what is wrong is the way he wants to implement others charity. In their call for goodness, kindness, and charity they are surplanting the real God with government as the all mighty, all seeing, all knowing god. Obama and his ilk want people to turn to the government for their hope, their salvation, not to the one true God.

Study after study shows that conservative Christians give more money and give more time to the less fortunate than liberals and the non Christians. I go to one of those rich powerful curches that Jim Wallis castigates in his talk. I know our church gives millions of cash dollars to the less fortunate around the world and at home each year. What Mr. Wallis doesn’t like is that this money is not funnelled through liberal organizations, but goes directly to the people. Along with the aid we give people hope in that a relationship with Jesus Christ is an eternal gift. I don’t think Mr. Wallis or Mr. Obama likes that kind of charity, they frown and don’t consider it charity when you feed, clothe, house, and visit the poor, the sick, and prisoners and also tell them about Jesus Christ. I think Mr. Wallis would really love it if our church just gave him the millions $ each year for him to decide who gets the help.

I want to distribute my own charity and have a say so in the message that goes with my charity. And that is what Jesus teaches. Feed, clothe, shelter, visit the poor, but these things must be accompanied by giving ‘Living water’ as well in order to be doing God’s will.

clay   March 24th, 2010 - 11:30 am

This is baloney – the bill NEVER indicates there has to be a re-distribution of wealth nor does he hate it or indicate it is a sin. He says only that it is harder for a rich man to get to heaven than a camel through the eye of a needle – probably because money corrupts, money becomes the idol and focus of your life instead of Jesus/God. This man is the enemy of America and Americans.

Let’s see… BO informed us in his book that he deliberately sought out to surround himself with ‘radicals”.
Yet, we were constantly informed by his advisor’s his associations with Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, etc. was a right wing attempt to smear a good man… and ‘our’ Mainstream media chose to ignore and downplay his relationship… were talking about self-proclaimed Investigative Journalists who ignored BO. So after 20-yr’s of sitting in Jeremiah Wrights pews, denying he never heard the good Rev. speak disparagingly about America, he walked away… but alas, he has now invited the Rev Jim Wallis into his Administrative fold to advise him on how to Redistribute the Wealth, along with Van Jones, Valerie Jarret, Patrick Gaspard, et al. I believe the video clip says it all, as each of BO’s WH insiders have also been captured on tape praising those like Mao, etc. Our country is being “Transformed” America… and no matter how many times they ‘redefine’ their terminology from “hand-out’s” to “Welfare” to “redistribute the wealth” to “social justice”… or from “Socialist” to “Liberal” to “Progressive”… it still remains that infamous “Lipstick on a pig” or “whip cream on BS”
It’s time to wake-up America and cast your “vote” in November

Palinurus   March 24th, 2010 - 12:56 pm

LOL. Jim Wallis is a marxist and a zealot, one who would crucify Christ himself for not being “radical” enough. Wallis is a deceiver and a disciple of, not Christ, but evil. In the meantime, I will continue scouring the Gospel for references that indicate the requirement of the massive welfare state or world government needed to accomplish the evil desired by Jim Wallis.

ps — footnote LOL to the character who said Obama is “center-right”. That is a howler. Straight for the Alinsky handbook.

That is a lie. Specifically the gospel is only this

Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
Jesus was buried.
Jesus rose on the third day.

THERE IS NO OTHER GOSPEL period.!!!!!!

This was the most important event but hardly the whole truth.
The gospel of Christ is recorded in quite a few more words than
what you represent and it gets down to the nitty gritty detail
of what manner of men followers or Christ ought to be.

“Be ye therefore perfect, as thy Father in heaven is perfect.”

I dare say your understanding of the gospel is fit for babes
who can barely digest the milk and that you are found wanting
on the weightier matters of the law.

Ephesians 4

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

The intent of the gospel of Christ is to learn to become like him, so that when we see God, we will be like him.

John 17
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall bbelieve on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, bFather, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Of course, none of this is to suggest that God would have people forced into charitable giving. That is counterproductive and just plain satanic to think such an approach is
either biblical or Christian like. God’s plan is to change the inner man and have him come to the proper conclusions so that he may become a self governing individual capable
not only of catching his own fish and making his own bread but capable of teaching others to do the same.

kmichaels   March 24th, 2010 - 1:49 pm

The belief that god is a socialist is a routine one found often in false churches teaching about other non-existent Christs.

A few popular believers is this false form of religion were, number one, Jim Jones, who believed in a socialistic Christ
and led his people to commit the gross sin of self murder. This is the origin of the term, drinking the kool-aid that is
so often tossed about.

Jerry Wright, Obama’s false pastor also taught this false religion. His version had the stench of anti-white and anti-jew
bigotry. His false religion which Obama is so fond of blamed the white people for most of their ills and taught that
you should be dependent upon governmental charity for your own well being.

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and various others believe is this same false religion.

This sort of belief leads people astray and causes them to err in grievous ways, leading to laziness, death and general spiritual destruction.

2 Thessalonians 3

7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

Can you envision any of the false followers of Christ like Jerry Wright, this man in question, JJackson or Obama having the nerve to
suggest to people that if they don’t work that they should not eat? Or that they with quiteness work and eat of their own bread?

Virginia Gentleman   March 24th, 2010 - 1:58 pm

“The Bible doesn’t like…?” “Redistribution of wealth” is not what the gospel is about. Jim Wallis has been about this kind of fundamentalism from the very formation of the Post-American ne “Sojourners.”

kmichaels   March 24th, 2010 - 2:03 pm

God, through scriptures, often uses the terms “prove me herewith” on various subjects. In other words, that the proof of his gospel comes only after the living of correct principals.

We have ample world history to prove to us that forced governmental charity leads to nothing but loss of personal freedom, economic disaster, personal destruction and generally evil outcomes.

Obviously God wold prefer that you give out of the kindness of your own heart and leaves it up to your free will as to what you will give and how much you choose to give. When a old women tossed in a small amount of money to charity Christ pointed out that she gave more than any other person. Bystanders pointed out that the rich gave much more money than she did. Christ replied that she gave everything that she had, with faith in God, to bless her with the promised blessings of heaven (not government)

On the subject of tithing the scriptures say this …

Malachi 3

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.

America, up until this moment, has been blessed and a delightsome land, because it’s people have given freely to charity and just causes, not by force but by free will.

MichelleBarackHunterts   March 24th, 2010 - 2:48 pm

How many Marxists, communists, radicals, and terrorists does a president need to be associated with before Americans realize who this Manchurian candidate of a leader they’ve elected really is? How many fascists or former fascists do you think Bush had in his White House? None! Despite liberal hyperbole , not one. You know why? Because the fooooking media would have had a field day , as they did regardless, of tearing Bush down everyday for this or that. The problem is the media people. The media is the enemy of America. They elected Obama , they provide all the propaganda he needs to destory America. The media is destroying America through its vast disinformation campaign including now this “historic” pos bill they keep propping up.

Michael   March 24th, 2010 - 3:06 pm

God must feel really good knowing that all of you know exactly what she thinks. I guess that is what is meant by “all things to all men.” Funny how Paul who never met Jesus and as shown by his letters knows nothing about the sayings of Jesus is always trotted out. If one looks at the whole bible there is no theme more pronounced than that about the poor, the widows, the orphans and how the duty of the people of God is to take care of those without. The message is about social justice. Since we are near the anniversary of the death (and dare I say martydom) of one who understood this, Bishop Oscar Romero, I think we should celebrate the Liberation Theology that gets to the nub quite incisively.

Well, I follow a different teaching and put all this speculative thinking about god aside a long time ago. Still, I hold no animosity to Christianity, since the social dimensions of the Gospel will always be the hallmark of Jesus’s message. Let’s celeberate that with a reading of the Good Samaritan, a gospel story with a message about how we should treat those who are not only ill and suffering, but those we neither know or are like. Let’s remember that the Samaritans were a looked down group in ancient Israel, and Jesus in his wisdom (and challenging humor and irony) made the hero of his story a Samaritan, not a righteous Jew. In short, is Jesus lived in the present, he would have used the supposed righteous Christians on these boards as an example. Itta missa. Pacem in Terris

From the encyclical listed in previous post. My favorite pope, Pope John XXIII. He get’s it. Pay attention to the section on “Rights.” Open both your minds and your hearts. With Metta and Karuna.

Rights

11. But first We must speak of man’s rights. Man has the right to live. He has the right to bodily integrity and to the means necessary for the proper development of life, particularly food, clothing, shelter, medical care, rest, and, finally, the necessary social services. In consequence, he has the right to be looked after in the event of illhealth; disability stemming from his work; widowhood; old age; enforced unemployment; or whenever through no fault of his own he is deprived of the means of livelihood. (8)

Rights Pertaining to Moral and Cultural Values

12. Moreover, man has a natural right to be respected. He has a right to his good name. He has a right to freedom in investigating the truth, and—within the limits of the moral order and the common good—to freedom of speech and publication, and to freedom to pursue whatever profession he may choose. He has the right, also, to be accurately informed about public events.

13. He has the natural right to share in the benefits of culture, and hence to receive a good general education, and a technical or professional training consistent with the degree of educational development in his own country. Furthermore, a system must be devised for affording gifted members of society the opportunity of engaging in more advanced studies, with a view to their occupying, as far as possible, positions of responsibility in society in keeping with their natural talent and acquired skill. (9)

The Right to Worship God According to One’s Conscience

14. Also among man’s rights is that of being able to worship God in accordance with the right dictates of his own conscience, and to profess his religion both in private and in public. According to the clear teaching of Lactantius, “this is the very condition of our birth, that we render to the God who made us that just homage which is His due; that we acknowledge Him alone as God, and follow Him. It is from this ligature of piety, which binds us and joins us to God, that religion derives its name.” (l0)

Hence, too, Pope Leo XIII declared that “true freedom, freedom worthy of the sons of God, is that freedom which most truly safeguards the dignity of the human person. It is stronger than any violence or injustice. Such is the freedom which has always been desired by the Church, and which she holds most dear. It is the sort of freedom which the Apostles resolutely claimed for themselves. The apologists defended it in their writings; thousands of martyrs consecrated it with their blood.”(11)

The Right to Choose Freely One’s State in Life

15. Human beings have also the right to choose for themselves the kind of life which appeals to them: whether it is to found a family—in the founding of which both the man and the woman enjoy equal rights and duties—or to embrace the priesthood or the religious life.(12)

16. The family, founded upon marriage freely contracted, one and indissoluble, must be regarded as the natural, primary cell of human society. The interests of the family, therefore, must be taken very specially into consideration in social and economic affairs, as well as in the spheres of faith and morals. For all of these have to do with strengthening the family and assisting it in the fulfilment of its mission.

17. Of course, the support and education of children is a right which belongs primarily to the parents. (13)

Economic Rights

18. In the economic sphere, it is evident that a man has the inherent right not only to be given the opportunity to work, but also to be allowed the exercise of personal initiative in the work he does. (14)

19. The conditions in which a man works form a necessary corollary to these rights. They must not be such as to weaken his physical or moral fibre, or militate against the proper development of adolescents to manhood. Women must be accorded such conditions of work as are consistent with their needs and responsibilities as wives and mothers.(15)

20. A further consequence of man’s personal dignity is his right to engage in economic activities suited to his degree of responsibility.(16) The worker is likewise entitled to a wage that is determined in accordance with the precepts of justice. This needs stressing. The amount a worker receives must be sufficient, in proportion to available funds, to allow him and his family a standard of living consistent with human dignity. Pope Pius XII expressed it in these terms:

“Nature imposes work upon man as a duty, and man has the corresponding natural right to demand that the work he does shall provide him with the means of livelihood for himself and his children. Such is nature’s categorical imperative for the preservation of man.”(17)

21. As a further consequence of man’s nature, he has the right to the private ownership of property, including that of productive goods. This, as We have said elsewhere, is “a right which constitutes so efficacious a means of asserting one’s personality and exercising responsibility in every field, and an element of solidity and security for family life, and of greater peace and prosperity in the State.”(18)

22. Finally, it is opportune to point out that the right to own private property entails a social obligation as well. (19)

The Right of Meeting and Association

23. Men are by nature social, and consequently they have the right to meet together and to form associations with their fellows. They have the right to confer on such associations the type of organization which they consider best calculated to achieve their objectives. They have also the right to exercise their own initiative and act on their own responsibility within these associations for the attainment of the desired results(20).

24. As We insisted in Our encyclical Mater et Magistra, the founding of a great many such intermediate groups or societies for the pursuit of aims which it is not within the competence of the individual to achieve efficiently, is a matter of great urgency. Such groups and societies must be considered absolutely essential for the safeguarding of man’s personal freedom and dignity, while leaving intact a sense of responsibility.(21)

The Right to Emigrate and Immigrate

25. Again, every human being has the right to freedom of movement and of residence within the confines of his own State. When there are just reasons in favor of it, he must be permitted to emigrate to other countries and take up residence there.(22) The fact that he is a citizen of a particular State does not deprive him of membership in the human family, nor of citizenship in that universal society, the common, world-wide fellowship of men.

Political Rights

26. Finally, man’s personal dignity involves his right to take an active part in public life, and to make his own contribution to the common welfare of his fellow citizens. As Pope Pius XII said, “man as such, far from being an object or, as it were, an inert element in society, is rather its subject, its basis and its purpose; and so must he be esteemed.”(23)

27. As a human person he is entitled to the legal protection of his rights, and such protection must be effective, unbiased, and strictly just. To quote again Pope Pius XII: “In consequence of that juridical order willed by God, man has his own inalienable right to juridical security. To him is assigned a certain, well-defined sphere of law, immune from arbitrary attack.”(24)

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid … the three ? … all for one and one for all!

LLL   March 24th, 2010 - 6:49 pm

I have been searching and cannot find where the Obama’s have made any contributions to anyone throughout their career. I see alot of take though. I wonder how Auntie Odinga is doing, if she is still living in the slum. Has anyone helped this woman yet? (How about a donation from you Beck?)

Roger, you said, “Implicit in the redistribution of wealth, is the inequality of mankind”

That is true only if you attach a dollar sign to one’s worth.

Jeremy   March 25th, 2010 - 1:06 am

Michael, please back up your vomit with scripture, not a mans own way of thinking.
You will always fail when you put forth your intelligent way of thinking to the word of God.

Why not ask the “Reverend” Jim Wallis which congregation he pastors? You’ll find out that he has no house of worship or congregation that he pastors.
His “Call to Renewal” group is what he represents under the banner of “social justice”.

I’m not surprised that he’s a Marxist.

bill-tb   March 25th, 2010 - 8:13 am

Radicals talking about forcing people to give up what they earn … Yeah, I bet Jesus was for that.

A moron talks to his “useful idiots”, as Stalin used to say. The gulags await.

If Jim Wallis is a Christian… then Adolph Hitler was a great humanitarian.

Our corporate plutocracy is just fine? Everyone here must be one of the

You guys need to be careful what you take as fact. All of the clips above have been grossly taken out of context to satisfy an agenda that was placed forth by whomever created this post. Jim Wallis is by no means a Marxist. Well done on editing clips to make him sound like one. But this distortion of fact is hurting our country, creating an even deeper divide than already exists. If you want to discuss something, then discuss it without piece-mealing together an inauthentic package that supports your views. And all that follow so willingly under a false pretense for an argument . . . try opening your mind up enough to think of other possibilities and ways of looking at things. You believe these things, not because they are true, but because they satisfy your pre-held opinions, and you don’t have to do any of the work that comes along with a true exploration of knowledge.
