It is up to the Registrar which forms of I.D. are required, but obviously, the precinct workers *have to* refer to the Voter Lists and see some form of I.D. or see the Sample Ballot in their hand that was mailed to the voter, that indicates this is a legitimate voter; and then they make you SIGN the Registered Voter Book, and then they hand you the ballot.

WHY would not having PHOTO ID make a difference?
And WHY should it be any particular PHOTO ID?
(A buyer’s club Membership Card with one’s name & photo is good enough to validate WHO you are.) How about a little common sense?!

I beleve the story mentioned that the individuals were registering to vote and immediately upon registering, voting. That begs the question. How can an individual that is just registering to vote already be on a Voter List? My inquiry does not apply to Cook County, Illinois, where I assume this practice is commonplace!

Good question. Never heard of such a thing. In our state, there are DEADLINES by which you must be REGISTERED before you will be allowed to vote (in any upcoming elections). Not sure how many days–something like a couple, three weeks.
