NJ Gov Christie Delivers Brilliant Laceration of Teachers’ Union

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie confronted by a school teacher at a town hall meeting. What follows is a detailed, specific and reasonable explanation of everything that is wrong with public employee unions and their hateful, destructive tactics.

This guy needs to run for president!

Dave_in_Oregon   September 9th, 2010 - 3:52 am

NJ….. You have a WINNER !

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER…. CONSERVATIVES ONLY !

mustafamonde   September 9th, 2010 - 3:52 am

Best Governor–EVER!

TotallyRecalled   September 9th, 2010 - 3:52 am

She had to open her mouth and get schooled…and he brilliantly revealed the hypocrisy of the teacher's union.

This guy is awesome.

KeyserSozay   September 9th, 2010 - 3:54 am

I'm from NJ and this guy is the real deal. He has been a voice of reason in this mess we are in. He won't run until he gets the state straightened out. He cares that much. The teachers are flipping out, but most others get it.

cecil91   September 9th, 2010 - 3:56 am

It would be wonderful to have such a rational and fearless cost-cutting person in the WH. Instead, we get another run-of-the-mill leftist political gasbag.

tatankachief   September 9th, 2010 - 3:58 am

Let's all hope this guy is on the road to the White House.

4arepublic   September 9th, 2010 - 3:58 am

God Bless Gov. Christie. We must find and elect more leaders like him that strive to do things with honor and integrity. We must start in November and never let up until we rid this country of any politician that even remotely resembles a progressive socialist- regardless of party affiliation.

DrEdu   September 9th, 2010 - 3:58 am

I live in NJ

Thank Heavens for our Governor!

He is cleaning this rat's nest!

And YES…he should continue putting the Teachers' Union in its place: they are a band of crooks that prey on our taxes and abuse of on our Kids' money.

vaaljonny   September 9th, 2010 - 4:00 am

what a contrast to our 'idiot-in-chief' who only yesterday was once again estolling the virtues of spending more money that we do not have to create jobs that do not exist

ushone   September 9th, 2010 - 4:03 am

Common sense…how refreshing!

gwar5   September 9th, 2010 - 4:04 am

Chris Christie at it again? WOW. My morning coffee just got even better and the sun is a little brighter.

How come nobody else is articulating what this man says, because it is so common sense and is the anti-Obamadrama. There ought to be 1000 Chris Christies out there just saying no to these pinhead unions that are bankrupting us.
.

kelbabe   September 9th, 2010 - 4:06 am

what can i say i lived in nj my whole life .gov.christie hit the nail on the head here. the teachers union is ruining this state with there no compromise attitudes .well contracts run out, then look see what compromise the unions will have to make .i thank god for gov. christie and his straight up, no -nonsense ways .people are paying co-pays everywhere else in this state now it's time for the teachers to ante up……………….GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR FALLEN HEROES

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 4:06 am

I know he says he won't run for President …but so did Obama. New Jersey folks …take advantage of your governor …and take care of him, too. The Unions hate this guy. Gosh, WE need another 500 Chris Christie's NATION WIDE !!!

KevinT633   September 9th, 2010 - 4:10 am

WOW! maybe I will move back to Jersey

claspur   September 9th, 2010 - 4:10 am

I hate The NEA. That communist organization needs to be dismantled when We take back the house and senate.
The last thing I read about them a couple months ago was, Them indoctrinating the kids, forcing the teachers to have their students read Saul Alinsky's, Rules for Radicals. (Don't believe me? Look it up. When first reported, I looked-it up right on The NEA's own website.)

Chuck47   September 9th, 2010 - 4:15 am

She was most likely a plant by the union based on the preparedness of her question. Christie is the best. He cut her a new one.

cdu4   September 9th, 2010 - 4:19 am

Great case for human cloning!

RightUnite   September 9th, 2010 - 4:19 am

He owned her!!! Love it!!

Hesed   September 9th, 2010 - 4:23 am

Ah yes, the teacher's union tries to strike back. Poor little teachers. They suffer so much, while the rest of the state suffers more, with less benefits.

Poor little teachers.

If only we had more leaders in the legislatures, and in our federal government, that would do what is right, and control spending regardless of the costs, in a just manner, as Christie is doing.

But in a dim world, that's not likely. There are unions to fund.

BarryYugobama   September 9th, 2010 - 4:23 am

Chris Christie pron, first thing in the morning? He's just not scared, he will not play games with these people.

Sickofobama   September 9th, 2010 - 4:28 am

Christie is good for the state of NJ.

Don't know if he's ready for the big stage.

He's soft on illegals and agrees with the Victory Mosque being built.

Conservatives only need to apply for the job of POTUS.

cdu4   September 9th, 2010 - 4:33 am

At least you know where this guy stands, and you know it comes from a philosphy, not a lot of touchy-feely populist emotions.

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   September 9th, 2010 - 4:38 am

Unions are an embarrassment and a drag on America. They are organized crime, ongoing criminal enterprises. It is a pleasure to have a prominent politician so eloquent with common sense and truth taking a stand and making the unions look like the greedy mean basturds they are.

PaBowHunter   September 9th, 2010 - 4:40 am

Christie is a superstar. Unless he has a major gaffe, he will one day run for President.

Sickofobama   September 9th, 2010 - 4:41 am

I'm sick and tired of politicians being soft on illegals.

They are the biggest moochers of them all and then they come in here and act like they own the place.

The Victory Mosque is not anything the Iman reports it to be – it is an affront to all those killed on 9-11 and a conquest site for those murdered that day by Muslims.

And Christie doesn't have a problem with this.

I and the majority of Americans do.

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 4:41 am

…we need another 5,000 Chris Christie's Nation Wide at all Levels: Fed, State County & City.

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 4:42 am

Now this would be the ONLY cloning I would approve of. GO Gov. Christie.

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 4:44 am

And it probably went right over her head.

sliderblazey   September 9th, 2010 - 4:44 am

now thats Capt. Kickass

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 4:47 am

All that has to happen is for the next President to basically CANCEL the Executive Order that JFK wrote allowing for Government Unions to begin with. Yes, it is that simple. We need someone with Big Cajones to do this and stand up to the ACLU, et al.

cdu4   September 9th, 2010 - 4:48 am

I share your outrage over these issues, but I feel that Christie's economic policies and viewpoints are currently more useful to NJ. Unfortunately, it is hard to find well spoken, effective politicians that have it right on every issue.

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 4:49 am

What an Understatement ….MMMM, MMMM, MMMM.

cdu4   September 9th, 2010 - 4:50 am

Got that right, greedy thugs that can't compete on merit like the rest of us have to.

Shiori   September 9th, 2010 - 4:51 am

Poor teachers. They're actually expected to like, do work and stuff. And they only get like, two months off in the summer, two weeks off in the winter, with personal and sick days. How can we mean tax payers expect them to teach our kids to read and do basic math under that sort of pressure? When will they have time to teach the kids to build global warming bunkers for the coming climate apocalypse? Why, they barely have enough time and money to teach the kids the required Obama hymns.

Mara123   September 9th, 2010 - 4:56 am

You know it is sad that we have teachers so left that they cant understand what Christie is talking about, an to think

these are the same teachers that are teaching our kids, so really how good can these kind of teachers be? I

wouldn't want my kids anywhere near a teacher like this one that cant put 2+2 together.

sliderblazey   September 9th, 2010 - 4:58 am

well, Tom Corbett seems to be running away with this one, we're on the right track thats for sure

sunflowers   September 9th, 2010 - 5:01 am

Isn't this refreshing.? I mean we are always dipicted so poorly. I love this NJ persona. I feel like a proud mama.

RawFish   September 9th, 2010 - 5:02 am

That was beautiful!!

The Only way to fix education is to privatize education…….Even this teacher with the leopard print is uneducated.

Unions are full of a-holes – I bet if there was an audit of the pensions – you would find that they have all be robbed.
Abolish the Teachers Union!!

RuralDelivery   September 9th, 2010 - 5:02 am

Wow!!! More, more, more. It's amazing how a guy with common-sense and not afraid to speak it–loks like a genius!!

midwestmomma   September 9th, 2010 - 5:05 am

Burn this video and take it to the teachers at YOUR KIDS SCHOOL. Ours teachers got a 2% raise this year, and MORE programs were cut for the kids. Wooopeee! We are loosing our minds America, this makes NO SENSE! PUBLIC UNIONS ARE WRONG!

Chris Cristie is an American Hero!

pilgrim_mindset   September 9th, 2010 - 5:06 am

Chris is rocking NJ. We need 50 more like him.

vince_from_NJ   September 9th, 2010 - 5:14 am

That's my Boy! No teleprompter, No BS.

I'd be proud to see him in the White House some day.

_Son_of_Liberty   September 9th, 2010 - 5:15 am

The teachers unions are the poster children for what is wrong with America… a small group of people that expect everyone else to pay for their excesses.

I hope that once Christie is through straightening out NJ, he volunteers to straighten out America. It has been far too long since someone like Christie has come along. I’d love to see him debate oamericahatingmuslim because he would sweep the floor with him.

taxcut   September 9th, 2010 - 5:18 am

Put a wig on that guy and he would fit in with Franklin, Jefferson and Adams. This is the kind of leadership that our country needs. You might disagree with some of his positions, but there is no question that he stands by his principles…and does a darn good job debating an issue. He may not want to run for president, but eventually may see the need to do so…once he gets it right in NJ.

MrsThurstonHowell   September 9th, 2010 - 5:20 am

Who needs foreplay??!! Just watch that video!!!!!!!!

vince_from_NJ   September 9th, 2010 - 5:29 am

That's too funny! I have tears coming from my eyes I'm laughing so hard. Good job.

tonkaslim   September 9th, 2010 - 5:31 am

Republicans, please pay attention: He is providing the template. The unvarnished truth-teller is going to prevail. The majority of voters smell bullshit a mile away. Christie/Ryan in 2012.

tiredofit2010   September 9th, 2010 - 5:32 am

We need to clone him in all 50 States!!

Patriot813   September 9th, 2010 - 5:32 am

Dream ticket……Christie / Bolton 2012, could you imagine?

tiredofit2010   September 9th, 2010 - 5:34 am

My daughter lives in Leonardo and owns a small biz…she's thrilled Christie is in….will be out there next week…

tiredofit2010   September 9th, 2010 - 5:36 am

as does the entire Dept of Indoctrination…..

childofcorn   September 9th, 2010 - 5:41 am

Probably the only reason I'd ever visit Jersey is to see this guy rail on Dems.

childofcorn   September 9th, 2010 - 5:42 am

He's not conservative enough to be President though.

jerseygirl_jo   September 9th, 2010 - 5:49 am

SOrry, not until 2016..we will need him here till then. we have soooo much work to do ;) .

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 5:52 am

"Run-of-the-Mill Leftist"? I wish. Obama is a Marxist Socialist Nightmare who has us on a bullet train to hell.

PennPatriots   September 9th, 2010 - 5:52 am

Let's hope so.

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 5:56 am

I deal with a publisher in NJ who is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy due to the high taxes. Christie has done a lot to alleviate their tax burden. Hopefully, they will survive.

jerseygirl_jo   September 9th, 2010 - 5:56 am

Is he "for' the Mosque? Last time I heard something was ..when asked christie said he wasn't going to get involved because he thinks its a local issue?

and since he has enough on his plate dealing with all the bs in NJ maybe he was smart staying out of it. just a thought…..

JohnGaltRules   September 9th, 2010 - 5:57 am

i love love love listening to him

SubjectofUSSA   September 9th, 2010 - 6:00 am

Love this guy

jerseygirl_jo   September 9th, 2010 - 6:02 am

well, i for one did not think he was conservative enough to be governor, but he is surprising me every day.:)

and remember, Ronald Reagan would probably not have passed the "conservative" test or the "Tea Party" test either and he was fabulous.

Now if CHristie would get us out of the cap and trade BS we are in :(

Maddogwelby   September 9th, 2010 - 6:04 am

Now all NJ needs is for the conservative wave to overwhelm the Dem leftist so at last fiscal sanity can prevail and the crook public service unions can be shown for what they are, Scumbags who only have their self intrest in mind during a period of 10% unemployment. Unions blame the rich for their success/risk taking and covet the fruits of that risktaking without having any risk on themselves, only in this case the Taxpayers are the rich.If they were't so greedy just maybe some of the rest of us could actually have a living wage.

LizardLips   September 9th, 2010 - 6:06 am

Mmm mmm mmm, you go governor!

BeEtLjOoZ   September 9th, 2010 - 6:07 am

Well not entirely a bad idea, then one may recognize when Alinsky tactics are being used on one's person. Sure it will teach one bad apple how to use these type of tactics, but it will teach ten others what to look out for, avoid, and when necessary point out and marginalize.

JBnID   September 9th, 2010 - 6:07 am

Let's count in SCOTUS (9), all of Congress (535) and the President and VP (2). 546!! THAT is how many Gov. Christies we need!

smellyfinger   September 9th, 2010 - 6:07 am

I wish Teachers would read The Constitution of the United States of America

Buhlz_I   September 9th, 2010 - 6:07 am

Atta boy…If you don't run for President, we're going to draft you. Sorry bud America needs you.

jimvann   September 9th, 2010 - 6:09 am

As a Georgia native, I can't help wondering why, in a state of some 7 million people, we can't find one Chris Christie. The best we can do is NEA puppet Roy Barnes, and Nathan Deal, who has been part of the pathetically broken Washington "Keystone Congress." Please Governor, do NOT be seduced into national politics. Stay in New Jersey and lead the country by example.

JohnGaltRules   September 9th, 2010 - 6:10 am

if you liked this i hope you saw his response to a star ledger reporter about 2 months ago..best political video i have ever seen

JBnID   September 9th, 2010 - 6:11 am

An up thumb isn't enough for that one. THANKS!!

JohnGaltRules   September 9th, 2010 - 6:12 am

as a NJ citizen, i would agree to let him go..because i know its the better thing for all of us. i love this guy

jimvann   September 9th, 2010 - 6:14 am

Oops, my bad. nearly 10 million. It's worse than I thought.

JBnID   September 9th, 2010 - 6:15 am

So, you'd rather concede the battle because your guy isn't perfect?? Get a grip!! Vote AGAINST the libs with whoever is willing to run against them. There are no perfect politicians, only those that come closer to the TRUTH.
Christie is as close to an HONEST politician I've ever seen in my lifetime.

eleutheroo1   September 9th, 2010 - 6:16 am

Gov Christie is awesome! Conservatives have a difficult road ahead, if they're elected to office. There will be much crap to shovel in cleaning up the mess the libs generated. We need more people like Gov. Christie, who will not only stand up to, but articulately defend the conservative position in the face of liberal opposition. It's going to be a tough job, because the libs are used to, and very comfortable with, their gov't handouts.

JBnID   September 9th, 2010 - 6:17 am

An HONEST politician has always been an oxymoron. NO longer. Christie gets my vote if he runs nationally.

kdizzydaze   September 9th, 2010 - 6:20 am

She went off script and got all emotional at the end of her initial question. She then gave the head sway back and forth not even interested in hearing the Governor's answer – I was waiting for her to give him the hand's to the face cause that apparently is how you win arguments these days. The Gov had to politely excoriate her to get her to behave like an adult and listen to his answer.
Worst of all, he laid out a well thought out, articulate, honest, accurate and fair description of the issue and she still doesn't want to listen to him and will be back in her echo chamber with all her socialist teacher buddies in minutes of the end of this video.

rowley   September 9th, 2010 - 6:23 am

Abolish the Fed. Department of Education.
Abolish all unions for any govt. employees, Fed. ,State, or local.
No contract to any unionized business for work for the govt.
No union employees should be allowed to work in the medical industry.
No international unions should be allowed in the USA.
Trade guilds should be run by the workers. No union leaders should have unlimited terms of office.

Chicken_Shitte   September 9th, 2010 - 6:25 am

I've already prayed for that.

wonder_all2   September 9th, 2010 - 6:27 am

Christie is the best thing since sliced bread! Love that guy.

hezaAZsmitty   September 9th, 2010 - 6:29 am

The man just rocks! NJ enjoy him while you got him, the love he has for his State also applies to the country. At some point his better angels will guide him toward the Presidency. I can just visualize him haveing a conversation with the Democrat leaders about the economy. In the words of Chris Matthews," that sends tingles up my leg." actually it puts steel in my spine, the steel neccessary to persevere.

TexasStomp   September 9th, 2010 - 6:30 am

Why when the GOP sees how Christie grows in popular support every time he makes such statements and directly confronts unions…..don't they GET IT???

The GOP candidates are all hiding out, afraid to say things they imagine we don't want to hear, can't handle. And they look like equivocating politicians instead of leaders every time they "avoid" bad news, like WE DON'T KNOW BAD THINGS ARE INEVITABLE, LIKE WE CAN'T SEE HOW BAD THINGS ALREADY ARE???

No wonder the GOP is next on the TO DO list of most voters. GUTLESS WONDERS. If their candidates would just take Christie's lead, tell it like it is, they WOULD SWEEP…..LITERALLY….IN NOV.

Instead they hide behind safe rhetoric and "general" statements that inspire NOBODY and instill ZERO CONFIDENCE IN THEIR ABILITY OR WILLINGNESS TO MAKE HARD DECISIONS REGARDING IMPOSSIBLY BAD SITUATIONS ACROSS THE BOARD.

THE GOP IS RIFE WITH EQUIVOCATING WEASELS TOO STUPID TO SEE CHRISTIE'S HARD LINE MESSAGE IS THE ONLY "TUNE" THAT PLAYS.

MrsThurstonHowell   September 9th, 2010 - 6:34 am

We moved to Ga in October. I absolutely agree with you. Its like saying,"Would you rather be shot or stabbed?"

Both candidates are equally horrible.

Baloshka   September 9th, 2010 - 6:36 am

Your mind must be "loose". Why does an entire generation spell the word "losing" with two o's? Was your teecher frum a Hysterically Black Kolledge?

minkxy   September 9th, 2010 - 6:36 am

but hes for amnesty

Baloshka   September 9th, 2010 - 6:38 am

Former Governor of Texas, Price Daniel: " Teachers are glorified baby-sitters."

Dave_Tn   September 9th, 2010 - 6:41 am

Guess the greedy useful idiots in the unions didn't "think thru" their communist overloads plans on Cloward and Pivening America.

ThunderOnDeLeft   September 9th, 2010 - 6:41 am

omg I love this guy — now this is what we need at a leader to get EVERYONE BACK IN LINE – bravo

Whats_Up   September 9th, 2010 - 6:45 am

Actually …I adjusted my figure to at LEAST 3000 Chris Christie's. Need to replace ALL of the STATE and COUNTY Politicians, too.

HelloLiars   September 9th, 2010 - 6:46 am

Cristie is right, TEACHERS SUCK.

why do we need education anyway? Educated people always seem to vote with the libs. We need stupid people to enhance our voting numbers at the polls to get the rich what they deserve. MORE MONEY !!!

HelloLiars   September 9th, 2010 - 6:47 am

I think we should let brilliant scholors like you teach your own kids at home. What a great idea.

Eileen for Freedom   September 9th, 2010 - 6:49 am

'LEAVE NO DEMOCRATZI 'LOON' STANDING IN NOVEMBER'!

America…we need to support financially each and every CONSERVATIVE like Governor Christie! Even if you don't live in their states…we need to send them support! We will not support the RNC because they are not supporting us and our candidates! It is going to be up to us…to give the financial means to fight the opposition and their boat loads of financial support!
