Once those Iranians see Parre’…..who are you going to keep them down on the farm……he.he.he…..oh the power of women

Dave   June 24th, 2009 - 10:23 am

Let me get this straight,Iranian’s are backward because they make their women cover their hair and they cut pieces of their vaginas off…
But when orthodox Israeli’s make their women cover their hair and they hack off pieces of their boys penises(circumcision),they aren’t backwards?

The only thing that bothers me about the woman is it’s likely she will be murdered by the sickos who created such a medieval existence to begin with. I realize her face was not shown so as to protect her, but the rest of her was quite beautiful to see, especially when one considers where she is. I pray she will be OK.

As for the ones who find it necessary to try to make a pathetic comparison to Israelis, get a life. Circumcision is not just a religious undertaking and is directly related to male hygiene. I’m of no Jewish background and was circumcised as a baby. Only a total wacko could promote the idea that it was part of some grand conspiracy. Additionally, Israeli women are not subject to Islamic rules in Israel and they do let their hair down. Very attractive as well, I might add. So take your neo Nazi garbage and stuff it!

Dave – Why demonize Israelis when commenting on this story? What do they have to do with the opression of women in Iran? How does the practice of circumcision – which is practiced by virtually 100% of Jews and Muslims and which produces a near zero rate of cervical cancer and reduced rates if HIV in a society’s women – have anything to do with protests in Iran or a disfiguring procedure on little girls? How deep is your hatred of Jews and Israel that it is the first thing you think of when reading this story? Your hatred is sad, deep, and bizarre.

P.S. The Israeli Army is 50% women (despite photographs of the Army your papers choose to publish that suggest otherwise) – Israel’s political leaders comprise women (Former Prime Minister Golda Meir being the most famous historically; Tzipi Livni currently). Don’t compare women’s rights in Israel to those in any country globally. They’re far ahead of the curve.

Hey Dave, I would rather live in Israel as a non Jew than in Iran as a non Muslim. How about you?

Andy   June 25th, 2009 - 10:34 am

Dave, there’s a huge difference. Islamic female circumcision is also practiced with the belief that it will prevent promiscuity.

In contrast, Jewish male circumcision is symbolic of being part of the covenant community and set apart from the world. (Many Christians, especially in the West, also practice circumcision for similar reasons, although theologically speaking, baptism is usually considered the normative Christian symbol for entrance into the covenant community.)

Becca   June 25th, 2009 - 2:20 pm

Dave, get real. As if you can compare male circumcision and female genital MUTILATION in the same. That goes further than apples and oranges. That’s like apples and…something very non-fruity. Unbelievable comparison. Male circumcision doesn’t damage the man’s sexual parts or ability. It just removes a little excess skin. The brutality still inflicted upon women around the world, where they remove the clitorus and mutilate her private parts (often in very non-hygenic ways where the risk of injury from infection is great) is not even in the same ballpark. Not to mention, as previous posters have mentioned, the female mutilation is done to “prevent” promiscuity. There are many arguments in the western world for male circumcision, though many now deem it medically unecessary. Certainly, none of the reasons are to prevent a boy from being promiscuous. In Iran, I wonder if a woman’s vagina is only worth a third of a penis…

????? ?? ????? ????? ?????? .???? ??? ??????? ?? ??? ???? ??? ??????? ?? ???? ???????. ??????.

Laffing at dummies   June 25th, 2009 - 6:23 pm

Dave, Becca is absolutely correct! Circumcision has two purposes one religious and the other is medically it helps prevent infection by removing the foreskin.

On a women it’s mutilate because it’s like removing the head of your penis. Backward oh yeah…
