If these people ever had to live or work in the proximity of polar bears they wouldn’t be quite so fond of them. They are huge, smart, mean and destructive. Every passenger on a jet plane creates 400kg of greenhouse gases? Are they serious? First of all, the commercial is really just smut. Snuff footage with bloody polar bears. Secondly, the ad really presses thoughts of 911 which is distasteful whether it was intentional or not. Why did they choose a city street location with the tall skyscrapers? It’s sick. This is the liberal mind. If anyone here over 30 years old has spoken with someone under 30 in the past few years, you are probably as horrified as I am. If you look at what they watch, it is mostly Comedy Central and MTV– Two radical and intellectually dishonest media outlets. Okay. Lets just say this ad is true and we are all killing polar bears with our boarding passes. Let’s put it into perspective. The US Congress recently asked for a military version of the G550 jet for generals, congress, senate, etc. They never got those G550’s but they still have their private jets. So, that’s 435 planes in congress and 100 planes in the Senate going in into D.C. a few times a year. We’ll leave out the executive and judicial branches, just to save energy here. Now private jets hold about 4-20 passengers depending on size, so we’ll use a medium average of ‘10′ passengers per plane. And these planes burn fuel whether they have one passenger or 10 passengers. So with that said who do we blame? The airline industry or the passengers? And what about private/charters? Are they to blame to? And did teh crew working on this ad fly anywhere during the making of it? So did they actually kill a polar bear or bears in the making of this propaganda? And what about Al Gore, who uses a private jet on every occasion he travels. Okay, forget about Gore’s jet. Let’s look at Al’s footprint, leaving out any costs or spoilage from the manufacturing of his Oscar. Al’s home electric bill is $1400/mo on average. That’s 23,000kwhs/mo, guys. Average large home consumes about 1500-3000kwhs a month. Al’s natural gas bill is about $1100/mo. So why does Al Gore all this energy? Is his home running all the power for Current.tv or something? Why does he need more energy than you and me, and gets a pass on carbon emmissions? Does his popularity, his Oscar, and the overabundant wealth require more energy?

The reason why has nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with a change to hunting laws.
Now that Polar bears are not hunted, their population has increased from 5,000 to over 25,000. Of 5 major populations of Polar Bears being monitored, 4 of the 5 have grown in population last year.
Also, don’t worry about a Polar bear stranded on a small piece of ice. A Polar bear can swim for upto 200 miles!

Jet fuel weighs 6.84 pounds per gallon and a jumbo jet burns 3000-3500 gal/hour to carry 350 people. works out to 67lbs of fuel for each passenger per hour. I know short flights will be more wasteful but tenfold? Where does a jumbo jet create additional matter. it can only output exhaust in the same quantities that it consumes.

What the science DOES clearly show is that carbon dioxide levels tend to lag behind increases or decreases in temperature over time. CO2 levels rise AFTER an increase in temperature, and fall AFTER a decrease. While this, of itself, ought to belie the idea that increased CO2 levels somehow “caused” previous warming events to have occurred, the AGW community doesn’t care about the truth, because the myth of AGW is merely a means to an end for them as surely as anti-Semitism was to the Nazis.
No amount of data, nor any scandal, is going to stop these people. They want to ram through Copenhagen NOW, before the most recent ten year dip in temps gets reflected in data showing a significant decrease in atmospheric CO2, as it surely will if their measurements are as accurate as they claim.
They’re committed to money, power and socialism, and it’s pretty clear that the only way to get rid of them is to strip them of their power and authority through the efforts of people who — unlike them — have nothing to gain here; but plenty to lose. Speaking truth to tyrants has always been risky, and speaking truth to their sorcerers and other hangers on sometimes riskier.

If anything, I will make a point of flying more often this year and driving my car as much as always (which actually isn’t very much anyway). Anyway, it’s comforting to know we’ll be able to rely on fossil fuels as our primary source of energy 50+ years from now, even though the planet will undergo a few decadal colling/warming cycles in the interim.
