There is no “American flag.” You might have gotten used to the military flag of the US Federal Government since we have lived under occupation since the War of Northern Aggression, but it is not “American” in any way shape or form. In fact, the organization behind it sends Americans to die in wars that benefit foreign governments. The US Civil flag comes closer to what you probably have in mind.
