The reason it continues is because the guy only got probation after he half killed his neighbor. He’s gotten the message that what he did was—OK! Geez!

Did anyone see on the tape anything that justified a claim of self defence?
And then getting probation for what looks like attempted murder.

Wow, that was a major assault and luckily it was caught on tape, though he should have been put away for years, the guy barely brushed against him, hardly enough reason to beat him to a pulp. Sad that neighbors can’t get along, one guy killed another recently because he was over watering his lawn. Just like the song say, we got to live together.

If you do any research on this case, you will learn that Sybille is a respectable former Coast Guard Lieutenant, and Vanwarmer is a trouble making racist. He moved in and was determined to harrass his neighbors. After several years of nasty racial remarks, Sybille, like any other human being, after years of taunting, lost his cool as his neighbor walked out of his way,again, to make another racial comment. Vanwarmer’s history of racism is what got Sybille’s sentence reduced to probation. Justice was served. Sybille was driven to violence from years of racial harrassment by a worthless racist. Sybille lived there first.

Also, DM, in the video you can clearly see Van Warmer walking into Sybille’s yard, and say something to him. Whatever that racist comment was, Vanwarmer trespassed into Sybille’s yard to say it, and after years of abuse, Sybille snapped. I’m white, so I never get racially abused, but I imagine I would have done the same.

“Too many racists on Breitbart”, did you see another video? Van Warmer was cutting his grass that was in the swale, between the sidewalk and the street. He turned around to cut in the other direction and turned on the sidewalk that runs across Sybille’s driveway. I am sure there were many words exchanged, and you can see Van Warmer turn widely, I’m sure purposely to annoy Sybille, who was walking nearby in his (Sybille’s) driveway.

Let’s just take as fact your contention that Van Warmer is a racists; so what? Is that illegal? Did he commit a crime against Sybille? How was Sybille defending himself? How do you justify breaking the law (Sybille)?

It doesn’t matter who lived there first, Van Warmer might be a racists jerk (I don’t know, I’m taking your word for it) but Sybille broke the law.

Of course after the guy’s caught on tape in a violent act the excuse comes forth, the other guy is a racist. Gee… didn’t see that coming, did you?

The guy with the shovel should have done prison time, I don’t care what was said to him. No wonder his neightbor is still pissed.

Probation? I’d probably still be mad, too. And- worse- the coward Sybille hit that old man when his back was turned. And, dear liberals, speech- even hate speech- is protected and sidewalks are public. We have no way of knowing what was said- by either man- but we can see the beating. Sybille should be in jail. What he did was NOT in self-defense. Further, he’s a disgrace to the Coast Guard.

I don’t know what a “groid” is, but I know it is another example of my problem with instant racism. “Where is the KKK” says Jackal – What is that? A “Groid” lover? says Dave – What is that? If you taunt me for years about anything, I’m going to eventually crack. A man can only be pushed so far before he breaks. Sybille broke. The judge and jury, in this predominantly white Texas town, heard the facts… and saw a reason to let the guy go. Yet based on this story, you don’t get the big picture. So Dave, if being a “groid lover” means I’m not like you, I accept the complement.

Too many racists

I don’t give a rats butt who these two are, or what they said or didn’t say to each other. What I said is, if you’re hitting someone in the head with a shovel if would sure seem that your are sure trying to kill.
And trying to kill someone is attempted murder.
Sure looks like the one guy was trying to kill the other guy.

So, the white guy (Vanwormer) actually murdered someone (shot her twice and stabbed her 14 times) when he was a teenager and got away with it on a loophole. Only fair that the other guy walks too. If I was Sybille, I’d move away from the murderer before he got to me and my family.

It is not illegal to be a racist yet…), but it is illegal to hit someone with a shovel. Justice was not served by giving Sybille probation. IF the roles had been reversed, VanWarmer would have been charged with a hate crime and attempted murder and been locked away for 25 years. I’d still be angry, too…as a matter of fact I AM!
