Commieobamie   November 24th, 2009 - 12:19 pm

AMEN!

Thanks! I’m goin to go kill two of them now, because that made me hungry.

B Holland   November 24th, 2009 - 12:23 pm

nothing wrong with being a vegetarian .

Veritas   November 24th, 2009 - 12:24 pm

Is it just me, or are these left wing groups getting more extreme all the time? This was bad, but the polar bears dropping out of the skies was worse. These ads are just crap!

Corey   November 24th, 2009 - 12:39 pm

Chemicals – pesticides and preservatives

Dirt – obvious

Poop – fertilizer

Even the vegetables don’t escape those lovely things :)

Pass the bird over here!

I’m sure there is some correlation between the use of the words “turkey” and “Obama” with which NBC has the problem.

YA THINK !

Kevin O.   November 24th, 2009 - 12:55 pm

B Holland: Sorry, there is everything wrong with being a vegetarian. Animal protein is needed for brain function, which explains libs with their lack of intelligence…..

annie   November 24th, 2009 - 1:18 pm

I like this. But she forgot to mention how they get their heads sliced off and how they’re shot full of hormones. And the effects working at slaughterhouses has on human beings.

I’m all for good treatment of animals & fowl.

B Holland, why don’t you go over to the other threads and knock on Sarah Palin (which
I’m not a supporter or a hater of Palin), don’t you and the rest of your dumbass
left wing ilk know that eating meat has iron and protein which can help anyone think
and function properly, I see the reason why you liberals/leftist/progresstards are
vegeterians, is because none of you don’t want to use critical thinking and don’t
want any of energy in your bodies. It’s not just narcotic and medication drugs that
undermines your system and turn you into a whackjob, it’s also not eating iron &
protein which will help you function and be productive for the entire day! It’s one
man’s opinion your getting from me.

Liberalism is a Mental Disorder!!!

I am thankful I’m not a turkey. I would rather be the eater than the eaten.

I am also thankful I can pee standing up.

Charles   November 24th, 2009 - 1:33 pm

Animals were placed on the earth by God to be eaten. I dont believe in the mistreatment of animal however. Humane and decency should prevail in regards to them, and those that abuse animals should be legally bound to the law. That said, I am having turkey for Thanksgiving.

momatolya   November 24th, 2009 - 1:49 pm

Hey,I got an idea. Let’s all stop, right now, today, eating turkey. I mean it, let’s let the turkey industry go down the crapper. Then let’s see how many out of work turkeys each PETA member will take in to feed and house until their natural deaths. If everybody stopped eating meat today what does PETA think that those farmers would do with all of their animals?

I don't understand this ad.   November 24th, 2009 - 1:51 pm

Why should I be happy that I’m not Sarah Palin?

there_is_no_fear_of_God_in_their_eyes   November 24th, 2009 - 2:02 pm

When God visited Abraham MEAT was on the menu!

And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. Genesis 18:5-8

And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. Acts 10:13

MMMMMmmm, MMMMmmmm, MMM! I’m hungry too! Thank God for turkey (and pigs and cows too)!

Birdie   November 24th, 2009 - 2:43 pm

Maybe PETA’s “beef” is with the mistreatment of animals, more-so than the actual eating of the meat? If not, it should be. I’ve seen some awful hidden camera videos showing the animal cruelty that goes on in some of these places and it’s un-called for. The world will simply not give up eating meat nor should it have to. These companies should be prosecuted for mistreatment of the animals under their care as well as the chemicals they’ve given their chickens via feed. God doesn’t advocate animal cruelty, but He does advocate the eating of animals, according to the Bible.

I wonder if the PETA employees will release their Dogs back into the wild or continue to walk them with the enslaving leash…. How cruel of these morons.

Eat animals! – its what other animals do.

When are we going to see the sad, sad story start running about the families that are so poor because Mom and Dad lost there job that they will be eating SPAM for Thanks Giving dinner ??

When will we see the tear jerker stories depicting the little kids, with tears in their eyes, being told by Momma that there is not going to be a Christmas this year because Poppa was laid off by his “mean rich boss” ??

When are we going to see video of the homeless families, freezing and starving, living in their rusted out Pinto ???

When will we hear about the epidemic in suicides because of financial disaster and depression ??

When are we going to see the reports on the block long lines outside the soup kitchens filled with the desperate unemployed ???

All of the stories we are used to seeing when a Republican is in the White House…

=============================
The LAST word that comes to mind with PETA ethical – they are anything but.
=============================
This is the group that recommended using human embryos instead of animals for product tested and defends animal treatment but is silent about the abortion of humans.

“Ethical” they are not.

claspur   November 24th, 2009 - 9:14 pm

Psssst….

Let me tell you all what’s really fun to do-here is… lmao

Go find any protest line of people…. PETA, or anyone protesting the likes of Fur, or whatever.

Walk their line, and observe what they are wearing as-to what they’re protesting.

Ten-plus years ago, I was in a McDonald’s eating a burger and fries with a Coke.
Right across a side-street, these knuckleheads were protesting this furrier business. (that was closed, btw…)

After I finished my fine lunch…*ack-cough… I slowly peddled-down the line of Yappers, noticing all the leather. ???
Started asking a few of them, “What’s the deal with that leather you’re wearing?” “Hey, you’re wearing leather sandals on….what’s-up with that?”

The best answer I got was from this guy… He said, “Well, next week I’ll be able to afford to buy something else.”
(right at that point, I almost ran-off laughing my …ahhh Bortbort lol

Most of these people thought I was policing them is the kicker here, guys.
They thought that I was one of Their Cops, is My point. (scarey) lmao

Sabba Hillel   November 25th, 2009 - 1:02 pm

PETA is a matter of “freedom of religion”. Just because they worship the aliens an put us into the food chain for them, does not mean that we can stop them. Of course we cannot eat animals. They are reserved for V

Openlcr   November 25th, 2009 - 1:05 pm

I’m a conservative and a vegan. The two are not mutually exclusive. I am pro ALL life. Not just some life. I am against abortion and aganist killing just for the pleasure of eating flesh. So stuff that ya’all!

Openlcr   November 25th, 2009 - 1:54 pm

Wow – did I shut everyone up? Let’s start over:
Why is it OK to kill another living creature just for our immediate gratification? When there is absolutly no NEED to do so. Come on give me something better then what was said above. Some that didn’t come from a cartoon. I mean offer real thoughtful support for eating animals.

forsooth   November 25th, 2009 - 2:03 pm

I agree with Openlcr — I’ve been a vegan for over 30 years. Whether I choose to eat or wear animals is neither a conservative nor a liberal issue.

AFAIK, PETA does not receive governmental (tax) dollars to promote their views. It is all straight-up contributions and sales of merchandise.

Don’t look now, but that is a VERY CONSERVATIVE thing to do!

With so many IMPORTANT issues on the political table, I fail to connect with the propensity of our conservative media to target poor ‘ol conservative(!) PETA.

mike barker   November 25th, 2009 - 4:19 pm

We kill the creature because we want to eat it and it tastes good.

This has been morally acceptable since Eden.

Those of us who have been eating animals since creation do not need to defend the morality of doing so.

AnimalsArePeopleToo   November 25th, 2009 - 10:24 pm

It’s about time Americans see the horror! Sitting at their tables in their Sunday clothing with their fancy napkins and crystalware, all the while completely oblivious to the deathcamps that hosted the poor creature that has now arrived to fill their fat cholesterol ridden bodies.

No one wants to see the truth. Like folks who deny global warming, these fat bloodsucking blobs of protoplasm stick their heads in the sand every time they say “pass the stuffing,” completely oblivious to the horrors their chosen ignorance only helps to promote. Wake up you disgusting canibalistic mutants! The world belongs to others too, and not just to you bloated animal bigots.

forsooth   November 26th, 2009 - 12:12 am

@Mike Barker: So…? Is PETA doing ANYTHING to prevent you from eating the way you choose? Eat as you wish. PETA, in a very American way, is pushing a particular point of view. In its essence, that’s what Repubs and Dems are doing.

@AnimalsArePeopleToo: Sorry to interrupt, but man-made global warming is a hoax. I do not subscribe to it for one moment. But, I am a vegan. The two paths do not cross.

BD   November 26th, 2009 - 5:17 am

I’m shocked that there are so many dumb, selfish people that have posted replies on here. Where did they all come from? Wow. Is that what the US is full of? I’m glad I’m in the UK!

Why is it ok to have a dog as man’s best friend but munch on the body of a bird?

Today I’m thankful that I’m not a mindless moron and have the ability to care about more than just myself.

Try eating tofurky. Ya know it tastes just as ‘good’ but without being the body of a murdered animal. It’s not hard to get, it’s not hard to love the taste of, it’s not gonna break your bank balance, and ya know what? You might actually feel better about yourself afterwards.

Synergy 77   November 26th, 2009 - 9:59 am

…and thank you for rainbows?
Would that be a homosexual rainbow, or a God’s covenant with Noah rainbow?

Folks, listen, PETA is harmless an impotent. Let them say what they want.
Eat meat and enjoy

Anon   November 26th, 2009 - 10:12 am

MEAT is murder, tasty tasty murder.

Make mine rare.

Fellow_American   November 26th, 2009 - 10:24 am

It won’t be long till they find that a bacteria or propolasm or some such that live in our water is going extint and starts protesting the use of water.

Fellow_American   November 26th, 2009 - 10:33 am

After all the wacked out liberal and I’m not a liberal vegans and veggies. I’m going Hunting tommarow and I’m going to KILL one in each of yall’s names and enjoy the meals I get from them.

Pat   November 26th, 2009 - 10:36 am

My first reaction was to beat my head against the wall from all the stupidity. But that hurts. Be a vegan if you want be as vegan as a you possibly can. Eat meat, raw, cooked or alive. I could care less. Why the hell does everyone feel the need to shove their views upon everyone else? Why the need for ultimate, constant control? It’ old, lame and trite but for crying out loud, live and let live.

Nattylite   November 26th, 2009 - 11:37 am

Save a turkey, eat a hippie. I bet those peta knotheads didn’t have a problem eating burgers while in high school. Emphasis on “high”. Don’t try to dictate how I live and what I eat. I would say what all the people who cry for the poor defenless animals can eat, but the filter would catch it. And I agree with Bow Hunter, didn’t make it to the top of the food chain to have a bunch of herbivores tell me how to live. I’ll take a wing and some stuffing with lots of turkey gravy please!

Peter   November 26th, 2009 - 12:20 pm

Well, I guess I have to disagree with both sides of the argument to some extent. According to the Bible, God originally gave us a vegetarian diet, along with all the animals.

Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

However, after the fall of man and the entrance of sin into the world, and especially after the global catastrophe of the Great Flood, God added animals to our diet as well (to be eaten without the blood). Perhaps things changed so much that a vegetarian diet would not be sufficient for us anymore?

Genesis 9:3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

With meat given to me by God, I have a real problem with those who would forbid me to eat it. But if you want to choose not to eat it, well, we still live in a free country!

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, …
3 … commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

And there you have it! What could be a more fitting fulfillment of these verses than Thanksgiving Day, when we take time to count our blessings and thank God for His blessings throughout the year?

Happy Thanksgiving!

forsooth   November 26th, 2009 - 12:41 pm

Y’know, I really don’t get this bit about “THEY’RE (PETA) TRYNA FORCE ME TO CHANGE!! WAH! THEY’RE DICTATING TO ME WHAT I CAN DO AND NOT DO!! WAAAHHH!!”

What crap! When the gov’t FORCES you to buy insurance or go to jail, that’s a “FORCE!”

But, when PETA runs a 30-second ad, it doesn’t force you to do anything. Get a life. (And save one or two while you’re at it.) Who eats turkeys? Obama :-)

As far as the hunting goes, I don’t enjoy killing and maiming animals for pleasure (a la Nugent)…Sorry. My guns are meant for protection and the sense of security they, perhaps falsely, bring.

jp2feminist   November 26th, 2009 - 2:12 pm

Doesn’t anyone ever question why the major television networks won’t air pro-life commercials? I guess they consider offering options other than abortion to be as radical as this PETA commercial.

Atom&Yves   November 26th, 2009 - 3:46 pm

When I was a youngster living on a farm, my father would grab the turkeys by the neck, swing it in a circle and crack it like a whip. POP! Head in hand and headless turkey squirting blood and scrambling every which way until it died and was ready for the boiling water for plucking. Yeah, it was fun, fresh and DELICIOUS. Ah, the good old days. Skru peta

forsooth   November 26th, 2009 - 5:47 pm

@jp2feminist: Doesn’t anyone ever question why the major television networks won’t air pro-life commercials?

Good point. VERY good point!

@Peter: oh, please…

@Atom&Yves: My mother did the same with chickens. What a way to go, huh? Ah, well, at least they were dead when they were boiled. I believe that the little girl in the PETA ad alludes to the known fact that many turkeys are scalded (to easily remove feathers) while still alive. That’s what they get for being turkeys, right, dude?

TeaBaggingTheLeft   November 26th, 2009 - 7:04 pm

Gee, all these teeth designed for tearing into meat – and a wiener designed for insertion into a… never mind… If I had finished that sentence, the party van would have shown up in front of my house for a taxpayer subsidized trip to a re-education camp.

I am going to go use my head to hammer a cap screw into dry wall… It isn’t the proper application of my body parts, but it is my right ain’t it? And I’m sure in a few years the left will champion it as an alternative lifestyle that holds merits far greater than any traditional western morality.

It is funny, the proponents of Darwinism proclaim selective pressure as the factors behind life. I hope it is true, because their lifestyles create a selective pressure that will expire their genetic stock.

No meat and malnourished, all gay and no children – a reproductive dead end… HURRAY!

michael   November 26th, 2009 - 11:21 pm

I’m having ham.

forsooth   November 27th, 2009 - 12:56 am

@TeaBaggingTheLeft: Dude, you need to get out.

@michael: Thanks for that, Michael. Now, go back to sleep.

Atom&Yves   November 27th, 2009 - 8:54 am

forsooth: Dudette, do you eat lobster, crawfish, clams, escargot? Many cultures fry/cook ‘live’ insects. Or are those examples of being boiled/fried alive different, for some reason? Many creatures eat their prey ‘alive’ (no boiling/frying). If there’s one thing made evident by the video, it’s that the poor little girl’s teleprompter needed a much better script writer. And, why do humans have canine teeth?

Ben   December 1st, 2009 - 5:01 pm

MediaCurves.com conducted a study among 321 viewers of PETA’s “Grace” Thanksgiving advertisement. Results found that viewers were less interested in animal rights issues after viewing a controversial ad. More than one-third of viewers (36%) reported that the advertisement was “not at all effective.” In addition, more than half of the viewers (56%) indicated that the ad was “disturbing.” More in depth results can be seen at:

Thanks,
