You really should've brought your rally to the Lincoln Memorial and joined in (not to mentioned the fact that all would've been welcomed). You could've learned a thing or two about concern for your fellow human being, then brought it back to the NAACP and start doing something productive for a change.

Hey Benny, I not only applauded Dr. Kings speech when I heard it the first time in 1963,I've tried to live my life since according to "Content of Character" and imagine my surprise to find that for all these years blacks were judging me by the color of my skin.

The parents are adamant the vouchers were yanked as just another move by the many Black economic plantation owners who need to keep Black Americans in the dark in order to maintain a voting base. What this man just said is a sin. The people at the Glenn Beck rally would have cheered MLK Jr. loudly and lifted him upon their shoulders. It is the 33%+ of racists within the Democrat party who would not have cheered MLK's speech. These radicals stole MLK Jr's dream. MLK Jr. was a Christian minister, a product of 100 years of Black GOP tradition and somehow these Socialists stole his message along the line by choice. They even lie that because LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act, all Blacks must stay Democrats. Well, LBJ didn't sign the act by choice. The long term pressure applied by the activist Republican party on the Kennedy administration eventually forced him too. But then, LBJ went too far with the Great Society & created a mass of people who expected reliance on the Government.

NAACP has eroded away from its foundation. Those political parisites that run or are its mouth piece are doing it more harm for its transparency of corruption.

I have news for Ben Jealous. He wouldn't applaud at a MLK speech. He can't even deal with the fact that MLK was a Republican. But its not really that big of a deal. Most blacks at that time were Republicans. Who could blame them? The dixiecrats best exemplified by KKK members like Sen Robert Byrd made the democrat party unhospitable. JFK bugged civil rights leaders and used the FBI to keep them at bay. Lyndon Johnson who was President in 1968 and actually signed civil rights legislation which received nonpartisan support, once called MLK, "that n*gger preacher".

You would think that after all these years some sort of "advancement" would have happened by now.

Sadly, I guess that's just not their objective. Same with the Democrats. With all their money and support, you would have thought the working man would be better off. Nope.

The truth is that we don't have the same opportunities in the black community. They will always be stuck thinking that they need people like Obama and Sharpton to get ahead. The black community has consistently been fooled by racial hucksters like Sharpton to believe that they will achieve freedom and justice (what they really mean is monetary gains) by following the likes of him and voting for democrats that support the unions that keep them in the grip of government programs. Notice that the only one achieving monetary gains are people like Obama and Sharpton who use their own people as pawns. Look at SEIU and the Public Schools teachers unions. What was one of Obama's and the Democrat Congress first moves in office, to get rid of a program that offered school vouchers in Washington DC to minority's. That program gave students that wanted to reach for something better an opportunity to do so. But in the eyes of today's "civil rights movement" (Ben Jealous included) that can only be achieved by another government program. That is taking from someone (hopefully the white guy) and giving in to the black community. Thats justice to them. But these programs fail time and time again because they are not earned and moreover they are extremely inefficient. They (Democrats) will continue to support the powerful democrat contributors that line their pockets, such as the teachers unions over the same people who want just the opportunity to get out of the endless horrible cycle they feel trapped in. Just watch the videos of the Lottery they held to get into programs such as school choice, of the tears of the children and parents who were not selected. They are trapped. We need a total reorganization of the school system in this country. One that teaches the basic skills to get ahead in this country instead of the touchy feely self esteem and cultural diversity garbage – the first step is to get rid of the US Department of Education. Reagan tried it, but he had Democrat majorities and there was no way those self absorbed a-holes in congress were going to get rid of their silk lined purses.

I attended the rally and everyone there was appreciative of Mrs. Kings remarks and would most definitley have sided with Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. Alveda King is the true legacy of the civil rights movement, not these race haters.
