What does she know? I lived through the Carter to Reagan transition. When Reagan took office there was nearly an immediate bump in my paycheck due to the Reagan tax cuts.
I remember, however, that Reagan had to compromise with the democrat congress/senate in order to increase military spending to defeat the Russians in the Cold War.
Listen to almost any of Reagan’s speeches. They were very conservative – especially the ones that dealt with the so called “War on Poverty”.

Reagan may have done so when he was a Democrate but, he saw the error of the Welfare State mentality and was awakend by the the American Exceptionalism. The best way for the country to thrive and generate revenue for the Gov. was to cut taxes. His policies led to the start ups of Microsoft, Intel, Cisco, etc. All were small shops that were given tax incentives to grow and now how many jobs to they provide. Of course, Liberal policies have forced many jobs to be sent over seas. NAFTA,GAT etc..
There would be no tech revolution if not for Reagan, in my expert opinion.

I listened to him this whole summer in NY but it was so hard to see his conservative side because he was trying to be all things to all people. Ronald Reagan may have raised taxes in his state but he found that that strategy did not work. That is why he became so fiscally responsible as a conservative. That is how he learned the best way to correct the destruction that was Jimmy Carters’ Administration. That is the way who ever will beat Obama will be able to correct his mess.

Overall in the USA conservatives outnumber liberals by 40% to 19%. It is really just a matter of conservatives running on a true conservative platform and then being a true conservative while in office. Bush failed to be a conservative by expanding social programs while president, thereby wasting more taxpayer money. This did damage to true conservatism. Conservatives also now outnumber liberals in every state of the union. The MSM got away with bashing Bush for eight years and laying the economic blame upon Bush, even though it was pretty much all Democrats that caused the sub prime lending mess. We need to stick with our conservative message and do so even after we are voted in.
