Answering a reporter's question in the White House rose garden, President Obama asserts that the economy is moving in the right direction and stands by his administration's "Recovery Summer" campaign.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:34 am

Why would he ? he tried to fix the Bush disaster but the GOP blocked him at every turn. The GOP had a vested interest in seeing america fail so they could gain seats in the 2010 election and thats what the neanderthols of this country are going to give us. The Veto pen will get some good use when the corporate paybacks start flowing from the tea party teats.

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:34 am

No problem. The Obama inspired thousand points of regret across America more than make up for Obama's own inability to empathize with the pain and suffering he's caused.

What is up with the multiple logons? You have as many aliases as Obummer himself…

BarryYugobama   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:41 am

Agreed. Obama's inability is pathological. The silver bullet strawman is pathetic. We can, however, start by effectively firing his sorry Kenyan ass this November.

DEFUND EVERYTHING THIS SOB HAS DONE.

AmericanParch   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:41 am

WAIT FOR NOVEMBER, HE MAY NOT REGRET IT BUT THE DEMS WILL.

Look at everything that happened over the past few weeks. The Dems will really regret it when the Tea party candidates win most of their elections. Look at the list of Tea Party candidates that have already won the Senate races – http://www.americanparchment.com/archive/2010/sep...

flytiegoode   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:42 am

Surely he didn't say that today. This must have been like a month ago or something. Please tell me this was pre-recorded a long time ago. This pecker gnat has no common sense and is so out of touch with reality there's absolutely no hope for him. (I'm finished with my rant now.)

"They're just not being created fast enough given the hole we…. experianced"

Ok, so does that particular turn of phrase strike anyone else as insanely amusing? Gee, I wonder what made us experiance such a… hole…… Hmm… Whose non-attempts to right the economy with keynesian stimulus would that be…. Oh right, Bush!
;)

knobby05   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:45 am

it was the Pelosi, reid disaster. Bush got the DOW back to13000 then the dems took over and let Barney Frank and Dodd kill housing market

wimperwimper   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:46 am

He is a pathological liar – that is what they do – lie so much they believe it themselves. THE BASTARD IN CHIEF is lower then scum. There have been Presidents that I did not really care for but I absolutely detest him for what he is doing to our Country, our children and our Grandchildren. AGAIN, I SAY, AT WHAT POINT DO WE IMPEACH THIS MORON/MARXIST.

BrendaC   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:46 am

That sounded like Major from FOX news that ask the question. It had to be because if it would have been MessNBC, CNN,ABC, or CBS the question would be something real important like, Mr. President what color underwear do you have on and do they match your suit. Sickening!

kmichaels   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:49 am

Right, that disastrous 5% unemployment under Bush was a real killer.
Obama's 10% unemployment is so much better for our economy, he he he.

And of course you, being a drooling liberal, will fail to acknowledge that
dems were in charge of the purse string during the last two years of
Bush, which happens to be when the economy turned sour.

Brer_Rabid   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:49 am

Veto Pen? You think he knows how to read and write? Don't forget the parlimentary processes that if enough votes are there, Congress can stick that veto pen up bammy's O-hole.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:50 am

Really ? What national economic policies did Reid, Pelosi, or any Dem get past the fillibuster loving GOP and the Presidents newly found VETO pen that changed the fine course Bush had us on to the disaster we are in today ? I cant wait to hear this gem of wisdumb

Remember Frank and Dodd were in charge of NOTHING until 2007 well after the demise started.

Hard Worker   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:51 am

The election in November is going to be the best thing for our economy.

When the progressives loose the majority, you will see a whole new wave of justified hope.

Down with communist.
Down with socialist.
Down with liberals.
Down with progressives.

Did I forget anyone?

When the business world feels safe to stick its' necks out, the economy will boom.

BarryYugobama   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:55 am

Zerorez left my house about 25 minutes ago. I got them to come in and clean the living room and stairs carpet. Cost me $159 even. Fantastic job as usual. I used them two years ago, and it was the same tech that came out that time. I asked him as he was leaving how business was faring. He told me it was slow, and whereas they would normally expect 4 to 6 calls per tech per day, now they are working off 1 to 3 calls, and the techs are rotating days off (lack of work) as well.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:55 am

Hard Worker   September 3rd, 2010 - 11:57 am

If the corporate paybacks start flowing from the tea party teats, I hope the Veto pen does get used.

I think you have found something we can all agree on.

The GOP blocked bills full of self interest. Nothing wrong with that.

Mr. Obama,

I would probably have a little respect for you if you would quit lying and just tell us the truth we already see.

You want a socialistic society and will do anything to collapse the economy, keep people on unnemployment, kill the free market and the other thousands of America killing philosophies you have. Why don't you try the honest approach?

billyjean100   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:03 pm

Wrong, dumbass. It was your Dems who thwarted the Repuplican attempt to curtail/regulate Fannie and Freddie and it was Clinton who decided that these cool new things called derivatives don't need any regulation. It was the Dems who mandated that banks give mortgages to poor/minorities who had no way of paying. Both are responsible for turning a normal recession into this depression. Facts matter, moron.

Hard Worker   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:03 pm

President Obama's mind is not in sync with America's best interest. Of course he has no regrets. He has caused a lot of damage. Exactly what he intended.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:10 pm

Look up trends and see how they work. Bush's average over the 8 years might have been 5, but his policies created the dramatic drop at the end that was losing over 700,000 jobs per month. there is no way Obama could stop that the second he got into the seat.

DrEdu   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:10 pm

Of course he doesn't regret this….HE WANTED THIS!
because -at this rate- more people will feel the need to ask the Government for help…which is the Dems end game!

BobSalem   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:10 pm

This crisis started during the Clinton's administration. The subprime mortgage crisis was a decade-long housing boom of low interest rates and excess liquidity. Mortgage brokers enticed by the lure of big commissions, talked buyers with poor credit into accepting housing mortgages with little or no down payment and without proper tax documentation and credit checks. And so the groundwork was established for the mortgage meltdown. The Republicans in Congress introduced a bill to regulated Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. With Barney Frank and Chris Dodd leading the way, the bill was killed. On June 27, 2005 Barney Frank stood up on the floor of the House of Representatives and told America that there is undue concern about the housing market and even though prices were growing very quickly the housing market is not like the Dot.Com industry, the housing bubble would not burst.

i am sure that the libtards would be all over this if we simply change all the names to BUSH.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:10 pm

Down with America fits into your post nicely.

He talks….tells us what he knows we want to hear…but can’t you sense the fickle attitude behind it??? He acts just like a Union Organizer.

NunChucks   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:13 pm

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:14 pm

So you can blame Clinton for something that started 7 years after his presidency, but we cant blame Bush for something that happened well before the changing of the seat and continues still today ? Are you guys for real ?

How does barney and dodd lead the way when they were in the MINORITY in 2005. Seriously !

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:15 pm

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:22 pm

It's just implied . I got ya.

NunChucks   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:22 pm

Why yes, you forgot DOWN WITH BARACK HUSAIN OBAMA and his entire administration. The next president in 2012 should rip everything out of the Oval Office, fumigate the entire White House, Senate and House chambers and start over. The Germans outlawed the Nazi party after the death of Hitler and the end of the War. We should outlaw the Democrat, Communist and Marxists.

billyjean100   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:25 pm

First of all – you should really learn how to write one day. There's this thing called grammar!

If you knew anything about how gov works, and paid any attention the past year, you would know that the minority in the Senate can stop anything.

You can spew out all the crap you want, but the facts remain. The housing bubble was created by the Dems and they STILL defend their actions and would not include any reform for Fannie / Freddie in the financial 'reform' law they passed.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:27 pm

If the Democratic party walked in nazi like lockstep with every move, then yes. Too bad that we are a big tent and coulfd not get a 60 vote majority on 99% of the bills that the fillibuster loving GOP blocked on a daily basis.

You will certainly see how hard it is to get 60 in the next two years, thats for sure.

Now back to the reality of the bush economic policies that got us here. de regulation , ignoring warnings of economic disaster, two unfunded wars, unfinded tax cuts to the rich, unfunded prescription drug plan, and pure ignorance.

kmichaels   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:30 pm

One should deal with specific issues on a case by case basis.
If you want to correctly blame Bush, then do so with specific
facts. When you get down to specifics then it makes sense
to trace the history of the specifics. For example, if the problem
you are discussing is sub prime loans, then you go over its
specific history, which goes all the way back to the creation
of Fannie and Freddie and the Democrat party pandering
to the poor voters.

kmichaels   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:31 pm

Which polices would that be, troll?
Just generic policies or specific ones?
The economy went bad specifically due
to sub prime loans. Which specifically ties
in with Fannie, Freddie, and the Democrat
tendency to push for more loans for people
that could only afford to vote, but not afford
to buy a home.

kmichaels   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:32 pm

If? Funny stuff, dufus troll.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:32 pm

Nice try simpleton .

kmichaels   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:33 pm

I remember all the impeach Bush signs
and bumper stickers. Did you say
impeachment for what back then too, dufus troll?

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:33 pm

Now we're going that far back to try and justify Bush's incompetance. Desperate stuff.

kmichaels   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:35 pm

The problem was sub-prime loans, shitfaced troll.
So you go back to the beginning of sub prime loan
problems and what caused them and what party
pushed for more of them and what party enabled
the majority of them. Simple logic always works
best.

billyjean100   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:47 pm

Not worth discussing with 'it'. So typical – no facts, just spew out crap. There is a reason that as education level goes up, voting pattern goes from D to R.

nomname   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:52 pm

Maybe he.means the hole in his head

soildude   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:54 pm

Drill – Are you unable to respond with facts? I know it takes some intelligence to do so, but give it a try!!

tatankachief   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:54 pm

Once again we just don't understand him. What he really means is that he and his 'frugal' bride have used this summer to recover from the vacations and parties from the Spring.

I'm sure 'Fantastic Fall' is just a few weeks away to recover from the summer vacations.

Let's just hope we can make it GOOD BYE NOVEMBER for the whole stinking boatload of swamp rats.

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:56 pm

No facts? I am the only one putting facts into the debate. Barney and Dodd were not in the majority or in any leadership postion in 2005. Is that wrong fact police ?

soildude   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:56 pm

Drill – again, please reply with specifics. What caused the melt down? What actions by Bush or previous administration lead to such?

Believe me, I am very critical of Bush for a LOT of things he did, but throwing it ALL at his feet is both naive and wrong!!!

Drill_baby_Duh   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:57 pm

Show me one so i can respond. no name calling, no OPINION, just facts. you can even provide a link if you would like

Greatnesslegend   September 3rd, 2010 - 12:57 pm

It took about half an hour to fully digest numbers "crunched" by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Not since FDR has a Washington Bureaucracy been so politicized. About a month after Obama assumed offices BLS.gov numbers began to skew.

Do you know instead of adding 130 to 150,000 new entrants to America's workforce each month as indicated by US demographic data is should be, BLS.gov has removed an incredible 2.3 million from it? Instead of adding 130,000, Obama's controlled minions have been cutting 120,000 a month on average. It is notable the month workforce # shrinks the most is a month of poor hiring.

Look at weekly applications for unemployment, averaging 476,000 for the month of August. This combined with a 130,000 gain in workforce size it means unemployment should had increased around 220,000 last month, not the 54,000 reported. Gets worse. Buried in BLS's PDF file is references to 20 year and older men and women. That indicates a 645,000 reduction in these numbers, not seasonally adjusted. ( 242,000 more men and 887,000 fewer women in the workforce) Apply this to the report unemployment could have increased by about half a million.

Where are journalists? It is easy to get this information, the Bureau just buried it a little deeper. The reason the Administration is doing this is clear. They must keep people consuming while the real world continues to erode around them. It may work by reason there are 94.5 people working for every 100 during the last employment peak. Average weekly earnings are up for those still working. If Obama can continue to spin without scrutiny confidence may rise enough to bridge the gap until the next big things everyone wants commences the next long up swing here and around the world. That said, you have to consider America has the highest corporate tax rate on the Planet (effective) and is about to enter the top three for upper income marginal rate. Regulation compliance cost, adjusted for inflation will be double that of 1993 on January 1st 2011. On a macro scale Obama's bureaucrats are picking winners and losers. Concentrating on forms of energy production averaging three times more expensive than nuclear, N-Gas, Micro Hydro, and Cleaner Coal. These factors assure capital will more likely stream into India, China, Brazil and Eastern Europe than America. Obama's spread the wealth around economics is slitting America's throat at a time decisions on systems and manufacturing needed to produce the next wave's consumer products are being made.

Result: America no longer dominates the global economy, and the world becomes a much more fractioned dangerous place.

gwgn02   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:02 pm

So in other words, Mr. Obama has no regrets about putting the American public 3 trillion dollars into debt, rampant unemployment, having failed to stimulate the economy and steamrolling a partisan agenda of wealth re-distribution that has every investor, small business owner, home owner, foreign trading partner, and non-Union citizen WISHING for Mr. Obama's early departure from office.

If this is Mr. Obama's no regrets…I shudder to think what he has actually regretted not doing more of!!!! This man probably would act even further more recklessly and radical if he could only take away all those "bitter people clinging to their guns and religion".

YOU are the key. Get your friends and neighbors to vote anybody but Democrat in November.

nomname   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:04 pm

I think you mean the Democrats.

soildude   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:05 pm

unfinded tax cuts? I know you meant unfunded, but how exactly do you unfund a tax cut?
Next, deregulation, what specifically are you referring to? please expound.
Regarding warnings of economic disaster, do you understand that right now the repubs are warning of upcoming economic disasters if congress does not address Freddie and Fannie, and if the debt is not reduced immediately, but I am sure you don't want to listen to any of those warnings. Plus, Bush made nearly 20 different pushes to reform Freddie and Fannie, but Dodds and Frank repeatedly stated that both were just fine!!!

nomname   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:06 pm

I just read that he's off to Camp David, poor, overworked man!

86-44   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:09 pm

You do not know in which you speak.

What took Bush 8 years, your weak president has increased three-fold in 18 months. DUH. this doesn't even include the additional cost that will come with obamacare and the next 2 1/2 years of his term

Explaine that dipshit.

You guys are going have to stop blaming Bush and GOP soon.

Come November obama's ignorant leadership will come to a halt.

The bad thing about that is when the GOP takes over, it will actually help obama and his ratings.

Subsalior   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:10 pm

Unfortunately for our Country much damage has already been done….

Unfortunately too, he will not relent in his efforts to "fundamentally change" us by first destroying and then rebuilding into Socialism….

soildude   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:12 pm

Sub-prime loans. Who is responsible?

soildude   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:13 pm

You were aware that there was a recession at the end of Clinton's presidency that Bush inherited, aren't you?

HunterAyers   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:21 pm

He' a true believer and a liar. "Moving forward," to him apparently means more government, more taxes, and more spending.
That's Keynesian and has never worked. It's an illusion of a theory tried first by FDR but it was the war that brought us back after the depression.
Taxes must be cut, drastically. Spending must be cut, drastically… the only way and the best way.

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:22 pm

Obama didn't veto that million dollars from BP, now did he? Or any of the other corporate and Wall Street money that gave him the biggest campaign stash in history. Let him be the President of "No" with that fancy veto pen, the President of no recovery, no jobs, no national security, no competence.

Obama very effectively made Bush's shortcomings negligible. It's almost like Obama is trying to cover for Bush by being 10 times worse in those areas where Bush did fail us all, but Obama overshot and failed us in all areas.

The drop at the end of Bush was called "Democrat Congress". Notice we still have a Democrat Congress and America still has droopy drawers? Not long after this November, the Congress of recovery will start to work, undo Obama, and the lights will come back on in that shining city on the hill.

billyjean100   September 3rd, 2010 - 1:26 pm

I cited the most important facts before and, of course, you avoided them. Derivatives and Fannie / Freddie and the Dems' push to give mortgages to those who could never afford them. Are you going to say it was Repubs?? Impossible – Republicans hate minorities and poor people, right?!!

We'll fight them at Mass, and in the Confessional, at Adoration and Benediction, we'll fight them outside Planned Parenthood and with the Rosary, we'll fight them by fasting and other mortification, we'll fight them by remorse for our own sin and joy in unmerited mercy, we'll fight them by praying and sacrificing for them and by obstructing their father's perverse will wherever it creeps within and without the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. The Church herself, the Church miltant, the Body of Christ temporal, must herself be cleansed of the progressives, the heretics, the apostates that have devastated her.

troll is trolling, don't give him the satisfaction of a confused look just move along and respond to comments that impart an opinion, rather than trying to reason with the bile that trolls call posts.

And by full employment, he means everyone works for the government.

Is that lie you just told one of your facts?
Because it sounds like something
you pulled out of your ass again.

First off, Barney and Dodd have been in positions
of influence in the financial arena for quite some time
before 2005. They don't need to be THE LEADER
in order to be a substantial influence.

You just sound so very stupid whenever you post something.
