She preaches against pork barrel spending/earmarks, yet she did not return the $233 million that Ak. received in federal funds to build the Gravina Island Bridge/”Bridge to Nowhere”, wich was never build. Where did OUR money go? Also, did you know that in 2008 alone, with Sarah as govenor, Ak. was the largest per-capita recipient of federal earmarks, requesting nearly $750 million in special federal spending over a period of two years!…And what about the fact that she supports John Mc Cain’s bid for reelection as senator of Az. and/or the reelection of governor Perry of Tx…these people are RHINOS! So, is Sarah Palin A REAL CONSERVATIVE…I think not, as actions speak louder than words!!! Please educate yourselves before supporting another RHINO like Sarah…knowledge is power…power to the people!

true conservative, are you looking for perfection or do you want to make some headway? Palin deflected the money from bridge-to-nowhere to more valid projects. Yes, I wish she didn’t keep the money and had returned it to the federal treasury. Instead, the money probably would have been spent on some other state’s entitlement program instead of paying down the deficit. Also, as governor, she has responsibility to her constituents and felt that the money could help make some progress.
This is different than the Ben Nelson $100M or the Mary Landrieu $300M who used it in exchange for a senate vote.
Just so you know, I am a Sarah Palin fan, but at this point, I don’t support her run for president. I think she is an excellent spokesperson.
