The one question I have if it is in fact a Canadian decision, does it establish some sort of global precedence that can be used by liberal judges in the US to cause grief down the road. (by grief, I am not insinuating that how America currently addresses our native inhabitants is just or correct. Far from it, but does the native American need this.)

Answer Man could you explain in a little more detail how the American Native needs this. Also would suggest you read a book out about the Carlisle Industrial School for Indians. (I think it was titled The Real All Americans). Interesting read about football, but better background on how the gov viewed the Native American. Might also give an insight on today’s welfare system, who,what,and how. Also success of good intentions run through politics.

Patently untrue. American Indian tribes were not peace loving, earth worshipers. They warred amongst each other for generations and many of the early white settlers were murdered and enslaved by the alleged noble races.

My children were born in the US. I was born in the US. My parents were born in the US. My Grandparents, great grandparents and great, great grandparents were as well. I am a Native American. If we go back far enough I suppose I could say I’m African American since that is where homosapians are traced back to.

People who have darker skin need to get over the fact that they are not victims just because they choose to believe they are.

If the US was as racist a nation as we are led to believe every person of color would have been rounded up and forcibly removed from this country and there are enough white people here that there would have been nothing blacks, browns, yellows or what ever other color could do about it. Nothing. Whites in the US are the most color blind people in the world. The reason people of color or “natives” think about color is because they are raised to believe in race first. Whites aren’t.

I was at an Indian Reservation in the 4 corners. Talked to a woman who was proud of her independence from taking government welfare simply because she was native American.

She said her brother married a woman from another tribe – and that tribe was eligible for a higher government entitlement than the tribe he was born in.

So not only did he get married, but he was able to register himself with the government as a member of his wife’s tribe so that he could get more free government Obama handout money.

Isn’t that some sh.!t?

So we punish the descendants of those who committed horrific acts, punishing today’s innocents to benefit the descendants of yesterday’s victims…creating tomorrow’s victims and yet more innocents to punish. When will we stop visiting the sins of the fathers upon the innocent sons? I’m pretty sure everyone has someone in their distant ancestry that did something wrong. We must break this vicious cycle if we are to ever live together in peace. It is creating racism and discrimination, fueling anger and resentment of those who are being punished for sins against those long dead committed by those long dead. Why can’t we just leave it buried, where it belongs?
