This guy is pathetic, okay, so if a person moved into a house, they KNEW they could not afford, ie hey I make $25,000 a year, lets buy a $200,000 house. America…all you have to do is watch HGTV programs about “first time home buyers”, etc. to find out where the problem lies on these foreclosures!

Time after time after time when viewing these programs about first time home buyers…the majority of them went to buy a home for the first time and did not have to have a down payment to do so!

At the end of the shows they show how much they paid, what interest they paid and what their monthly payment would be!

Most times…their monthly payments were $1500 and up!

America…I could not even imagine coming up with this kind of money on a monthly basis! And that will only go up from there because taxes go up and it is reflected in your monthly payment.

So I watch these young, naive couples buying huge homes! And they not only bought huge homes…they wanted 4-5 bedrooms…on suite…baths…media rooms, etc.

What…what…what?

When my parents started out, when we started out…when we went to buy a house…we were ecstatic to get 3 or 4 bedrooms and maybe 2 baths…nothing fancy…nothing huge…just a home for our families that we could call our own!

Today…these kids want more than we could ever dreamed later in our years to buy!

And they sacrificed nothing in putting away money to purchase a house in the future.

Many of them were not even married…but were about to be married and wanted to buy their first home before the wedding!

What…what…what? When my parents and I got married, we lived in an apartment we could never even dream to purchase a home at that time until we had been married several years and “saved” for a down payment.

Now…these same young people who put no money down and bought these huge homes…cannot afford the payments!

And since they put no money in…they can easily walk away!

Most people who have saved anywhere from $10,000 to $35,000 and put it into a down payment on a home are not about to walk away from their investment!

That is what the problem is…these loans should have never, ever be granted to someone who had not made a sacrifice to purchase them!

Everybody should not own a home…everybody cannot own a home!

It takes sacrifice and it takes commitment and it takes alot of money to own a home!

So don’t punish the rest of America…who did it the right way…by now making us pay for their mistakes.

They need to learn the hard way…and without anymore help…they have had enough help!

I purchased a home in 2005. I read every word of the contract and the mortgage broker answered any questions. Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae’s paperwork required a record of every penny I had. I also had to show employment records to show how I expected to earn money to pay for the home. They were asking me how short my hem was and requiring proof of it.

38 years ago my wife and I both worked 2 jobs each. We saved everything except paying for the essentials. I drove a 15 year old car and wore the same boots for 3 years while we saved. I would have worn them longer but our dog eat the top half of one boot down to the heel. Bologna sandwichs and peanut butter were the main staple. We put 10 thousand dollars down on a $37000 dollar home. We live with the same frugality that helped send 2 kids thru college and pay the house off 8 years early. There are people unwillig to sacrifice to get what they want.

Double jeopardy does not apply to such circumstances–e.g., Brown and Goldman v. OJ Simpson, Geimer v. Polanski etc. etc. So, yeah, CrackHead is still a fookin’ idjit. I have been a Mortgage Banker for over 20 years and for 4 of those years I owned a bank and sold to Wall Street and banks did not rape anyone, ( a few Loan officers may have) but the fact is. Politicians (democrats) wanted the banks to loosen lending so more people could have home or the opportunity to try and get one. I believe your friend Barney Frank and his friends at Fannie Mae had more to do with it than anything.
Being a Banker for 20+ years, I think I might know a tad more than you about the industry Mr. Moore. When we give loans we asked for a great deal of info on clients, you would think we would have asked for DNA testing we asked for so much.
I would not say the borrowers got raped, I would say the banks got raped, because Fannie and Freddie lowered their standards for approving loans and what would be sellable or not.

There were loan products that allowed people to STATE their income and STATE their assets ( liar loans) and get a home. How were bankers supposed to help people that would lie on an application when the product all but told them to lie?
The product was not designed so banks could foreclose later and own a bunch of properties to sell later, the product was put out their bay Freddie and Fannie so people could have a chance and because they lied on their app. You say they were raped, by themselves maybe.

Also, it was not subprime as all the media keeps talking about; there was a product called ALT-A and it was for self employed people who made a lot but wrote off everything and would not qualify with the net income (another liar loan) there was a product; If you had a 680 credit score ( I am not kidding) you could have been homeless and gotten a 100% loan.

I had clients or potential clients tell me all the time why their 1st mortgage was on time but they had heard if they don’t pay their 2nd that the bank in 2nd position would not come after them. Are these the same people who you say were raped by banks and because they lied to get a loan from a product that was put out by the government to lie so you could get a loan and yet when it’s time to pay, These same rape victims that were given an opportunity to own a home don’t pay because the income they stated is a lie and the banks are the bad guys.

I watched this last night. The first five minutes consisted of Hannity hounding Moore about how much money he makes and how his fat ass rides around in chartered jets. Moore was visibly uncomfortable by these questions and would only admit that he has a house in Michigan and an apartment in New York. He obviously doesn’t want his cult-like followers to know that he’s worth about 50 million dollars and doesn’t use union labor when he makes his films. This man is 100% hypocrisy, and in this interview he again repeated his belief that capitalism has done nothing for him. I normally respect another person’s views, even though I may disagree, but Michael Moore is the exception. I want to vomit every time I see this man’s fat, disgusting face on television. If someone isn’t smart enough to buy a house, it’s no one’s fault but theirs. Chances are great that many people who cannot read a contract also hated Reading class in school. You have all (including Hannity) missed the REAL culprits in the mortgage mess: the Clinton administration. They are the ones who passed the laws making it impossible to refuse a mortgage to people who traditionally would never been approved. For more than 10 years, lenders stuck with these dirt-bag loans have slid them into packages of attractive loans that other institutions wanted to buy. To get 90 good ones, you had to take 10 crappy ones. Then it was 11 bad ones, then 12 then 13.
Just like mixing impurities into animal feed, it won’t hurt them at first, but before you know it they have mad cow disease.

The Primary responsibility for the mortgage mess is Clinton’s fault. Bush, being a charlatan conservative (RINO?) missed the mark and made his own contribution by NOT undoing Clinton’s mess. What this bill is is a means for the democrats to have an illegal bill of attainer directed specifically at Halliburton in order to punish Halliburton. It is cheap partisan democrat politics and everyone knows it. There are some serious constitutional issues for companies to be picked out specifically for governmental punishment and governmental abuse. There is nothing illegal or unwise nationwide to have arbitration rules for settling disputes. This saves everyone huge legal fees and ends up with wiser solutions. But since democrats are into kissing laywer’s arse for decades now it does not surprise anyone. Democrats love lawyers making millions off of rape cases and medical cases since of course the lawyers suffered the damage, apparently in spirit only.

Michael Moore is destined to really hate capitalism, for his new movie “Capitalism: A Love Story” appears to have totally flopped at the box office.

The fact is that Capitalism: A Love Story looks like its domestic total will fail to crack $20M and end up his worst performing film since his Oscar-winner Bowling For Columbine in 2002.
