Sounds like this Mexican President along with Obama are on the wrong side again!! Our government is supposed to Protect the People of the United States of America. Just because past Presidents and Congress over the last 30 years or so have ignored the borders, doesn’t make it right. The states in our Union have to deal with the issue’s and problems that occur on a day to day basis. The police officers are there to protect and serve the people and the communities where they work. So to those in charge in our government, Mexico and Canada if you are not going to ENFORCE THE LAWS that are on the books, then get out of the way of those States that will.
So when the federal government refuses to enforce its own law, Arizona takes responsibility. It isn’t going to sit around and cry and wait for the federal government. It isn’t going to stand by and watch its citizens be murdered and its taxpayers be drained at their expense. It is going to do what a government should do – protect its citizens. What is so wrong with this concept?? I cannot, for the life of me, understand why this is such a terrible concept to liberals.
If the purpose of government is not to protect its citizens, then what else is it there to do? If you are a liberal, the answer to that question is as follows: write entitlement checks, make everything and everyone equal, and redistribute the wealth. The last four presidents of Mexico have come to the United States and preached openly to Mexican audiences the mantra that there is no Mexican-American border. They claimed time and again “the border is wherever there is a Mexican.” Former president Fox insisted we should pay for illegal immigrants’ healthcare, welfare, housing and other benefits. Their lobbying has had an effect.
Poll after poll has shown that 65% of Mexicans in Mexico and almost as many living in the USA believe the United States “stole” Mexico. This inflammatory rhetoric surfaced recently when a California history teacher was shown on a U-tube tape advocating “revolution” by Hispanics against “Whites” and urging young people to “take back the stolen ground we are standing on.” He was tracked down by Fox News and says he was “misquoted and misunderstood.” He was unapologetic for urging his students to join the socialist revolution that is sweeping South America and now seems to have gained a foothold in the United States.
For the sake of saving this country from the Mexican government-promoted invasion, such anti-America speeches by Mexican politicians should be banned in this country as part of our allowing them to come here. Such rhetoric amounts to “hate speech” against this nation and tends to incite the military-age illegal aliens in this country. (The numbers of which exceed the totals for our entire military and National Guard available on U.S. soil should such an upheaval occur.
There is no place in our public school system for programs such as the one just terminated in Tucson. However, the school kids who were part of this indoctrination staged a “Guerilla Theater.” protest that has caused uproar in the community. When questioned about their motives, they, too, claimed they were “misunderstood.” It seems these pro-open borders students haven’t been getting an education that allows them to makes their point without being misunderstood. It is not the Arizona taxpayers’ job to teach Mexicans about Mexican history or culture. It IS our job to insist our schools teach students the necessary skills to prepare them for their futures.
It is interesting to note that a recent poll respected nationwide poll showed 66% of Americans agree with the new Arizona illegal immigration law. There may be hope after all.
I’m as liberal as they get, and even I know that the immigration situation is beyond messed up. The problem is that in this country, you have two political parties that need to take opposing views on things. You’re for this? Then we’re against it… It has to stop. We need to be united on this issue. Unfortunately, it’s in the interest of the Democrats to court the Latino vote. I think they’re just putting on a show and feigning outrage. They know as well as the conservatives that it’s a drain on the country and that Americans are (relatively) united on standing up against this double standard.

If the Presidente of Mexico is so concerned about his people, why is it that he does nothing to stem the flow across the border? Simple – it gets them off of his expense account (and on to ours), and it provides a source of US dollars flowing back into his country tax free (for the most part).
Rather than fix Mexico’s problems (their economy kind of sucks, does it not) it is easier to turn a blind eye and hope the people who are most dependent on government dollars move north.
While I think it would be cold-blooded to shoot them at the border before they can cross, our current catch and release system is not working too well. Deportation is the only answer; we can’t afford to store them in our prisons or just turn them loose to remain (as Obama put it) in the shadows in our country where they become a drag on our economy and increase our cost of law enforcement. However, there must also be some means of discouraging border crossing, and enforcement of our existing laws (including completion of the fences) would be a good start.
Kudos to Arizona! Let’s force our President and Capitol Hill to do something for America (for a change, pardon the expression) and enforce and strengthen our current immigration laws.

This law wont promote any more hate than there already is… The average American already hates that the taxpayers have to pay all of the freight for as many people as they bring. All the while they just sit back, sponge and demand more while waving the flag of a different country and speaking some other language. We already hate people who come here illegally and kidnap our children, kill our citizens and provide illegal drugs. How can you drum up more hate than that?
The law wont promote any more discrimination than the federal law since they are very close to the same. The only discrimination I see is some Mexicans wait to get in using the proper channels, but the US Govt. lets the lawbreakers in automatically if they walk across. That’s not fair to the Mexicans legally puruing immigration status is it? I would say that *not* passing this law creates real discrimination not just the potential discrimination sited by the usual suspects.
About profiling: In order to stop the flow of illegal alien Mexicans who crossed our border against the statute of law, presumably one would need to look for what else? Mexicans! So to say that we can’t profile means that we can’t do anything about them showing disrespect to our sovereignty and laws. Which is the plan the illegals want. So put away your white-guilt and support this law. BTW – There is no hyphen in the word American.
Oh yeah one more thing, these jobs that we *need* Mexicans to do in the face of 17% unemployment?!?!?! Why don’t we just let the legally immigrated Mexicans do it instead of the illegal ones? There’s yer guest worker program, and… here’s yer sign.

Why weren’t you people on the right this upset when Reagan was pres and gave AMNESTY to millions of illegal mexicans? Oh that’s right because it wasn’t convienent then. Hippocrites!

First question, what is a hippocrite? Is it like a rhinoceroscrite?
Secondly, probably are not aware of the fact that fact that the conditions were very different:
1. Reagan gave amnesty for 1.7 million illegal aliens. The number that we are talking about today is 10+ greater.
2. The law that gave amnesty provided for the control of the border to stop the chaos. The only problem was that these provisions have never been enforced.
Do you homework. The next time you might be able to answer your own question.
Calderone felt he could trash Arizona because he felt he had the approval of Obama and his entire administration. They have knocked America every chance they had, so you really can’t blame Calderone for what in most circles would be contemptible rudeness. Guess his momma didn’t teach him any manners, but then, a Country that has millions of its citizens rudely entering another Countries sovereign borders, without so much as a “may I,’ probably missed out on all the lessons of etiquette . He and all the millions of HIS people need to go home, and if they want to take the current administration with them, so much to the better. Boycott Mexico and its enabler suburbs… LA and San Fran…..Support Arizona. It is time for all good Americans to come to the aid of those who are fighting to preserve America for Americans and not the invaders from the South.

People “on the Right” and otherwise WERE upset with Reagan for his amnesty deed.
And so was Ronald Reagan who quickly realized he’d made a huge mistake in issuing that order.
“Massive fraud” ensued afterward. Reagan and Administration immediately recognized the “error” and admitted they’d been wrong in ordering the amnesty. Do a search for Edmin Meese who admitted that he’d and Regan “gotten it wrong”.
“Massive fraud” ensued after the Reagan order for amnesty – Reagan had NAIVELY expected his amnesty to address something like a million (maybe two) illegal aliens, but instead, something like ten million applied and used OBVIOUSLY fraudulent documents to do so.
The government was “unable” to control or even deal with the onslaught so they ridiculously decided to just allow all/any to apply with obviuosly forged documents, NAIVELY EXPECTING THE ONSLAUGHT TO CEASE EVENTUALLY.
They NEVER anticipated the fraud (d’oh) that ensued. They NEVER anticipated the overwhelming millions who exploited the good graces that they’d granted to what they’d anticipated was a million or so people (that burgeoned quickly into ten+ million).
So Reagan and Administration did, indeed, get it entirely wrong and Reagan admitted that he was wrong to have issued that amnesty as he had.
*BUT* if that amnesty illustrated and proved one thing and one thing only, it was that amnesty is not productive: it results in the opposite effect desired. With ANY amnesty, you get MORE ILLEGALITY, A HUGE INCREASE IN ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
So amnesty doesn’t work. Reagan, at least, proved that it didn’t.
