Big deal…he called the guy an asshole. So what? That doesn’t make him a potty mouth at all. To tell ya the truth he showed some restraint if you ask me. Nobody wants to have their past rehashed on television. Dean Richards should have known better. It was rude.

I’ve always liked Mel Gibson. He’s one of the (increasingly) few celebrities that I have any respect for; Clint Eastwood being the only other one I can think of.

So Mel simply called this guy what he is. Big deal.

That reporter deserved it. He was there to promote his movie and what was the reason behind the reporter to talk about his past? Well done Mel! Spoke like any human would…

Mel was SO ambushed in that video. Interviewers lead with their line of questions, they create the over-all tone of the interview. For the guy to bring up “emergency topic” no-nos was a clear #Fail!! Mel Gibson is a great movie actor, he’s good at his craft and he deserves a better interview then this crap. Negativity doesn’t win.

Mel didn’t lose it.On the contrary he kept total control even when he was being verbally abused with the repeated questions about his past,a past that he doesn’t fill ashamed of,and he shouldn’t.Worse things are covered up by the MSM about their favorites.Mel it’s not one of them since The Passion of the Christ.Also he was there to promote the new movie not the Larry King or Ophra shows.Asshole was a very mild comment but totally on the mark.Good for Mel!!!

Oh you guys are funny….so we should all move on since it’s been 4 years, right? Not too mention that you idiots act like Dean Richards is the only reporter bringing it up when in fact he isn’t AND he refused to interview Mr. Perfect Gibson as he knew how childish Mel acts but Mel’s people were the ones who CALLED DEAN BACK AND ASKED FOR THE INTERVIEW WITH SPECIFIC PERMISSION TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES!!! So now what do you have to say for your golden hero who thinks he’s above all? Why resort to name calling yet again when his people were the ones who set it up? Try knowing what you are talking about before spewing lies on message boards……and again, that is only the rude comments – what about the drunk driving where he could have killed innocent people? Why should that be forgotten just cuz 4 years passed? To start, I just want to say that the journalist WAS wrong to go into specifics about the question that he asked, but I think the initial question was perfectly fine: how Mel has grown as a person and actor in the past four years. Seems pretty harmless to me, and I don’t understand why he didn’t just answer the question and leave it be. He is the one guilty of bringing up his past and delving more into it. All he had to say was that he is the same person and that he does not wish to bring up past events. Simple.
Secondly, I find it kind of ridiculous that a 54 year old man does not have the self-restraint to keep comments like that to himself. Frig, I’m 20 and I’ve learned to keep thoughts like that to myself, no matter how tempted you are to say something. I simply do not understand people like this and frankly, never will. I feel like as an actor, he has subjected himself into the media and into the spotlight and journalists DO ask these types of questions. Deal with it.
