Dave, unless your part of a union, a retired federal employee, or are still working beyond the age of 65, seniors don’t have much choice about being on Medicare. By law, they have little choice. They can go on “Advantage” plans, almost 3 million seniors have, however part of the Obamacare plan does away with these plans. Talk to any senior that has JUST Medicare, they will tell you it sucks! Without suppliment coverage provided by PRIVATE insurance carriers, your out of pocket $ exposure is enormous. Do you know how many Dr’s will not treat people covered by Medicare? Don’t you have to wonder why? Why do you think AARP has become such a large organization, approx. 40 million members? The MAIN reason is to take advantage of discounts on their Medicare suppliments! If Medicare was such a good plan, why would seniors need suppliments?

First of all genius, there’s a good chance that he had NO CHOICE but to be on Medicare, because his employer or private health plan dumped him when he hit 65. It happens all the time. They say “sorry, but you have Medicare now” and cancel your plan. Incidentally, that’s EXACTLY what will happen if the “private option” comes into play. That’s why the CBO says over 100 million people WILL lose their private insurance under this plan. Oh, and the fact that nobody will be ALLOWED to sign up for new private plans if they change insurance for any reason.
Second of all Mr. Mind Reader, how do you know he doesn’t know? He probably knows very well. Unlike your side, conservatives actually read bills and know what’s going on.
Third, he DESERVES his government-run Medicare……..he PAID for it. I know this is an alien concept for a liberal, but generally when one pays for something, they expect to get it. WE don’t expect “free” health care, because we know better. On the other hand, most conservatives would be more than happy to sign papers exempting us from both Social “Security” AND Medicare if we could stop the government from taking that money out of our checks against our will.

They will be deciding WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT SENIORS CAN HAVE, BASED UPON A GOVERNMENT FORMULA–OR WHETHER THOSE SENIORS WILL BE GIVEN TREATMENT AT ALL! Obama’s plan would require CUTTING Medicare benefits, deeply, in order to pay for the free entitlements of the lazy bum youth generation. In other words, Obama’s plan would have robbed this guy of what little he has now. And as we all saw, from the bill, it wasn’t very generous to the elderly. In fact, so “unfriendly,” they actually removed the “death squads” clause.
Tort reform is the ONLY way to get health care costs down, but as Howard Dean recently said, his party doesn’t have to backbone to go after tort reform because his party is OWNED by the sleaze bag ambulance chasing lawyers that file frivolous lawsuits that drive up the cost of malpractice insurance and health care in the first place.

obama’s healthcare reform isn’t the nazi’s 25-point program, for chrissakes, it’s not even close to FDR’s new deal.
the people who make these comparisons should take a look at the civil rights of other countries and realize we have it better here than almost everywhere else… the fact that americans can talk openly so much trash on their government officials is strong proof of that.
if you think america is anything resembling dictatorship you should actually read up on what dictatorship actually does to a society… what you’re protesting is chickenfeed.
40% of the country is on government health ins. The Military, the seniors ect. Those seniors will take out FAR MORE than they ever put in when you combine Medicare and SS. I say IF THEY COMPLAIN give them all a refund for what they put in plus interest and TAKE THEM OFF THE PROGRAM. I bet you wont have many takers!!!. These right wing repukes make me ill. This was the worst interview I’ve seen in awhile. He should have started with the facts. I’m still not sure who started the fight or why. According to the victim, he threw two punches before the guy bit his finger off. Why did he punch the guy twice? Did the biter intiate the altercation? Why did the biter pick this guy? What words were exchanged? It didn’t help that the guy was a smart ass with his curt, non-descriptive answers, but Neil could have done better getting specifics.
Note in the comment how the Obamites use the old Communist tactic of stifling debate by saying this guy had no right to protest because he is on Medicare.
Then… by that logic The Iraq Veterans Against the War and the whole Winter Soldier/Anti-war groups can’t protest because they were in the Military and fought in a war?

There are alot of people protesting government run health care that are on medicare. and i think they know that medicare is government run. Medicare is for people over 65 or people that are disabled “aka people who cannot work” the reason people are protesting is that obama and the libs or progressives “communists” would like to expand this type of program to everybody. medicare is broke and can be restrictive and government run healthcare would make it hard for insurance companies to compete. there is alot of questions but no answers over a thousand pages of confusing rhetoric that people are having a hard time understanding. What is the motive how is it going to be paid for will there be rationing how is this all justified an answer to reference medicare as an example which is broken. unemployment is on the rise and the majority of citizens get health care thru their employer why not kill 2 birds with one stone this should be the number one issue. remember bill clinton its the economy stupid!!!

He was "PROTESTING GOVERNMENT RUN CARE" and HE WAS ON MEDICARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an idiot. It's too bad about his finger, but if he knew he was already on government run care maybe he wouldn't have gone to this rally in the first place.
