‘Mad Money’ Host Cramer Likens Bonus Outrage to Lenin in 1917

"I was a Spartacist when I went to college and I took a, went for a Master's Degree in Communism and we learned these things. Don't mock it - I took seven courses in Communism. Lenin, when he came in, in 1917 felt that the bankers were making much too much money. He confiscated all their wealth. The peasantry felt terrific about it. The peasantry reacted positively. ... It traced out well and the peasantry was rejoicing and the bankers - many of them were killed - and there was a terrific, terrific surge of opinion that Lenin was a great man."

Well it is refreshing to see all these closet commies and socialsts feeling comfortable enough to come out and expound their true opinions. One question if capitalism is so bad, why don’t thye quit their TV jobs, and gather togethe and live in a commune. They can grow their own food and take nature walks and meditate all day.

It’s always encouraging to see people on the Left (like Cramer) who don’t buy into Marxism. They’re a rare breed these days.

Momma6   October 16th, 2009 - 12:04 pm

Right on. Socialism doesn’t work. Capitalism with moral restraint works. Sadly, there is less and less moral restraint in the U.S. We need to model and teach our children about hard work, entrepreneurship, ethical behavior, and giving to the less fortunate. We do.

Those who are less fortunate who have financial problems need to look first to themselves for help, then their spouse, then their families, then their friends, then their church, then their community, and lastly to their government for help.

Business can be good. Good business provides valuable products, services, and information for folks who are willing to exchange money for valuable products, services, and information.

Bravo Cramer! He’s got great courage and nerve, doesn’t he? How many people in his position would admit to having lived out of their car, been suicidal, destitute, and flirting with communism? Cramer is a certifiable genius, and is now spreading a wonderful gospel of financial freedom and liberty for the common man. His energy and insight are phenomenal. He’s helped me tremendously.

Rahm will send Jimmy a dead fish booyah next week. Mr. Cramer has been offering the elites tips for months on how to proceed, but they have the Saul Alinsky playbook out and are running it by the numbers.

Observer   October 16th, 2009 - 9:10 pm

People really are worked up about all the arrogant bankers and others taking their tax money and getting multi million dollar bonuses after running the big companies into the ground through greed and dishonesty and sheer stupidity.

This needs to end soon or it could turn really ugly. Now we have a whitehouse full of communist radicals ready to use it as an excuse to overturn our representative republic form of government for socialism or communism. These are the things they use to accomplish a commie takeover. They tried it with MLK and the civil rights movement and might have succeeded if MLK had been around longer.

PA Citizen   October 16th, 2009 - 9:11 pm

Cramer will cave like he did last time and Obama will continue with his outrageous Communist behavior.

matt colver   October 16th, 2009 - 9:26 pm

The Soviet Union was an economic experiment that didn’t work. Taking all the wealth away from the rich, and giving it all to the politicians in power sucked as an economic model.
It’s nice that people like Kramer remind us of that.

It’s not like Obama blamed the recession on bankers. It’s not like Obama blamed the failure of a car company on an executive and then fired that executive. It’s not like Obama vilified business owners for making a bunch of money and flying on private planes. Its’ not like Obama wants a large national civilian (domestic) military force as well funded as our existing military. It’s not like Obama has Marxists people in the Whitehouse. It’s not like Obama is trying to silence the media opposition. It’s not like Obama is in bed with Labor Unions trying to grow their power. If Obama were trying to do any of those things he would be operating just like Lenin. Stop worrying we still call Chicago, Chicago it isn’t Obamagrad yet.

Early Cuyler   October 16th, 2009 - 10:38 pm

Obama is a fraud.

You hear all of the time about “separation of church and state” which we know does not exist in the constitution, but we understand congress shall make no law abriging the right to worship. How about congress shall make no law abriging business? Some say capitalism with a moral ethic. Why? If the market wants to only buy from the morally ethical, that will win the day and those that choose to do otherwise will go out of business. The market and “government” regulation are incompatible. Government wants to control a behavior that the market wants. It will not stop it, it will only force it underground where the abuses can be covered up.

FastFacts   October 16th, 2009 - 11:45 pm

It is funny how many people are calling conservatives facists, racists, and nazi’s. Yet it is those on the left that emulate these groups. You have those that want to take away all the freedoms that we have and mandate things like swine flu vaccines, health care, and government control of businesses. You have those in Hollywood, entertainers, those in power who use the N*** word or like Jimmy Carter calling Obama the “black boy.” Then you have the civilian force to fight the problems of National Security that is just as funded and just as strong as the military. Has anyone ever asked Obama what he really meant about that. A well funded civilian group to help in our national security. What are we suppose to think?

Dear mr Cramer   October 17th, 2009 - 9:13 am

CRAMER…you need to get all your Wall Street Cronies and begin the attack against the kind of tyranny this administration is promoting toward the US financial and executive sector. It reminds me of Lenin too…

Let’s not get to a place on the slippery slope where we find we cannot climb out. I know you voted for Obama but right is right and fair is fair. Taking people’s pay packages away is neither right nor fair. Don’t worry–we are all behind you 100%.

Steve, please watch the whole video.

JP   October 17th, 2009 - 10:06 am

He is and was your MAN Cramer!! What did you expect from Obama and what did you base your support for him?
You lost all credibility! What did OBAMA say or do that made believe he was going to be good for our economy?
Maybe it was thise NBC parties made you feel like you belong.
I can’t tell you how many people I talk to that stopped watching you. Phony!

AntiBernankie/Geithner   October 17th, 2009 - 3:07 pm

THIS Cramer is a maniac, Here’s whats really coming! http://www.infowars.com

James K   October 17th, 2009 - 4:28 pm

Cramer, the liberal, didn’t go far enough. Did you hear him? Yes he said “[Communism] didn’t work” but right after that he said, “sure we can do it here.” WTF? He said he wanted it to happen in the USA for 10 years and that he thought it would have be gratifying! How sad these liberals, they think the death of productive members of society is gratifying. But we already see this: remember the other day how Chris Matthews wanted Rush dead? I pity liberals/communists for their sinful ideologies.

Benji   October 18th, 2009 - 8:50 am

Cramer’s a complete moron, he thinks he can get away with a straw man argument.

Congress gives Wall Street TRILLIONS of TAXPAYER’S money to “get rid of toxic assets and prop up mainstreet” (pretty unCapitalistic if you ask me), and when the scam is shown for what it is; the greatest Ponzi scheme ever conceived, Cramer paints critics as COMMUNIST. The guy is a retard and a shill for the Bailout regime, people are catching up -you “I studied Lenin” piece of crap.

norespect   October 24th, 2009 - 9:40 pm

I do not agree with socialism or any of its tenets. I do believe in retribution though. When the greed and lack of any morals cause so many to suffer, there must be pain suffered by the perpetrators. We allowed the people with money to write their own rules. They bribed/conned congress, and the SEC to allow practices that were prime causes of the depression. If they do not fear the law they should fear those who they screwd.

RUFUS LEVIN   October 25th, 2009 - 12:51 am

The red phone just rang at 3 AM at the White House. Obama rolled over and said, “michelle, you answer it…tell them I haven’t decided yet whether to fight or run. If that doesn’t satisfy them, transfer the call to Rahm so he can call them mofos.” Gnite

greyfox   October 25th, 2009 - 7:55 am

OK. let’s take all bonuses away from top executives, but only if they aren’t making any money for their firms. I agree that stimulus money should not pay for executive bonuses, no argument. Nor do I believe that
the government has any business telling the private sector how much their executive should be making. It’s none of their dam business. Politicians vote themselves increases and they spend and lose money big time.
This, redistribution of wealth, has already been tried and failed, which is the definition of madness, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. What you have or don’t have doesn’t affect me one bit. If what you have is taken away, how does that make my life better? It’s a political game to gain votes and power not to make the country better. The indigent among us, and there are for too may, do not have the sophistication to see through these political games and they vote for their “perceived” benefactor(s). Maybe the next target is high paid athletes, I love Tiger Woods and what he does, should he be capped at a certain income level? Where is the line and who will decide? You voted for him I hope it’s working for you.
