A special person’s wettest dream..."

Why FOX allows this show to stay on the air is beyond me!! I have never watched it and never will! There really isn’t anything funny in the clips that I have seen on here!

Snailmailtrucker   February 20th, 2010 - 2:02 pm

This kind of garbage appeals to the juvenile Obama voters,
and their lack of moral values will be their downfall!

Guest   February 20th, 2010 - 2:09 pm

Time to abandon Fox and even FoxNews until the Moloch dispatches these dopers.
Of course it might be that the Moloch enjoys making fun of Palin. After all, he was a bit Hillary supporter.
No matter, I will no longer support ANY sponsor of ANY Fox show and will let the sponsors know that if they advertise on Fox they are supporting mocking Down syndrome children.
It’s that simple. boycott Fox until the toss out the doped up trash.

That sums it up nicely!

A bit further though, I never watch ANY fox krap shows, ‘cept football, kinda forced to tune in if I want to watch a particular game. Then I see the krap ads for fox krap shows…YUK!

Hey it pays to let white liberals use you as the spokesperson for their “assigned groups”

if   February 20th, 2010 - 2:47 pm

The funny thing is people like the shows creator always have thin skin when the spot lights on them! What a weak little fool he is! Liberals are responsible for every sick, morally bankrupt thing in modern society.

SubjectofUSSA   February 20th, 2010 - 3:04 pm

Seriously this is the best thing this group has to argue about? Nobody cares about Palin, she’ll never be President, even tho I like her. And nobody cares about this tard argument either, people make fun of other people, it’s always been like this, it always will be. The actress herself came out and made fun of Palin, that should show you how dumb all of this is.

I thought freedom of speech went both ways, if you don’t like him, don’t watch Family Guy. I have never liked that show, but if it gets you people so damned riled up I may just have to start watching it. If the conservative movement is going to sweep everything in the near future they better get off their moral high horse and start accepting some of the younger generation that doesn’t take stuff like this seriously.

You say people need to grow up, when if people like you all had just not said anything to begin with, none of this would even be happening.

Michelle   February 20th, 2010 - 3:18 pm

This was so pathetic it can’t even rise to poor taste, and it not funny in any way shape or form. Very sad.

women are objects to be used   February 20th, 2010 - 3:29 pm

But wait, I thought it depicted the mentally challenged (whatever the term is these days) in a good light. That’s what some were saying on the other video. Maybe this girl was depicted no different than any other girl, so some think it was a fair depiction — but that depiction is of all girls as little “who re$” So if the Palin joke doesn’t offend you, should depicting a woman as someone’s “wh0 re”? No… not when liberals do it, then it’s o.k. : /

JonnyHero   February 20th, 2010 - 3:44 pm

This clip does not seem all that out of line relative to the shows standard fare… I’m not sure I understand the fuss. It was a well written and well sung song, certainly not offensive to the ears…

I’m not a big Family Guy fan, the show is very hit and miss, but it does do some things well and one of those things is music. Isn’t watching this out-of-context clip and getting outraged just as ignorant as getting outraged when a group like Media Matters cherry-picks a line from the likes of a Rush Limbaugh and tries to display it as evidence of some misgiving?

As far as any of us who have not watched the episode know, the whole thing could have been wrapped up nicely. There is no reason to be upset over this… once you lose the ability to laugh you’ve already lost.

gjc   February 20th, 2010 - 3:45 pm

The only people benefiting from this feigned indignation over TRIG is FOX and the producer of Family Guy.

FOX is happy to keep stirring up the scandal – as FOX rakes in the bucks. Who knows, Palin may be on the take.

Time to just move on, and let this thing quietly fade into history.

Gorio   February 20th, 2010 - 4:25 pm

I wonder if all of the suprters posting here would be so forgiving of the song had it been making fun of blacks, hispanics, or gays? Somehow, I doubt it…

Buffy Marie   February 20th, 2010 - 4:35 pm

Try substituting “Fine American Girl” or “Cool Alaskan Girl” for “Down’s Syndrome Girl” and what do you get? Nothing, zero, zip, nada. The song could be written about any girl. There was absolutely no put down of a Down’s Syndrome child in that song. If anything it highlighted the unhygenic mess of a young man. When you watch the whole episode and see how fairly the young woman’s character is treated, you come away wondering what all the fuss is about. It certainly isn’t any put down of Palin’s child. It is a put-down of Palin herself. The actress herself said she was not happy with Palin looking for votes and pity by carrying her son around under her arm like a loaf of French bread. This episode was produced well before the lastest Palin dust-up over the word “retarded” used last August by Emmanuel and the word “retard” used repeatedly last week by Limbaugh.

Buffy Marie   February 20th, 2010 - 4:42 pm

Gorio — the song did NOT make fun of the young girl. If anything, it made fun of the sloppy young man getting ready for his exciting date. If the words “African American Girl” or “Red State Soccer Mom” were substituted for “Down’s Syndrome Girl” it wouldn’t have made a bit of difference. It was just a reference to the girl that the sloppy boy was going to see. There was nothing said about the girl.

Guest   February 20th, 2010 - 4:48 pm

I have to apologize. This episode was about Seth’s family. I feel bad for them. Boo hoo.

jujubee   February 20th, 2010 - 4:56 pm

@ Gorio…

Now be careful, you don’t want to make them look in the mirror now. It may scare them a bit.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

mightyrighty   February 20th, 2010 - 6:09 pm

last time they had a problem was when they used sexual term ‘glory hole’…. this show is bad taste and worse humor at an hour when kids are watching….pieces of trash who made this show have no class.

dobbs   February 20th, 2010 - 7:33 pm

@Gorlo..

I’m a fan of family guy.. I’ve watched it for years and i can tell you for a fact that they have made fun of blacks, hispanics and gays.. And everybody else.. I’m not arguing, I’m just informing.

djfox   February 20th, 2010 - 8:52 pm

Snailmailtrucker-

i voted for Obama, but find the clip so offensive and disgusting that i wish i hadn’t watched it. your comment shows that you yourself have an immense bigotry and uncritical approach to your views. because you lump all people who voted for Obama into a category for your own convenient finger-pointing, you prevent yourself from seeing how you can become part of the solution. please reconsider the way you over-generalize so that you can make a positive contribution to society, whether that be pro- or anti-Obama or whatever issue about which you feel strongly.

FJ   February 20th, 2010 - 9:13 pm

I just read that Fox has canceled Family Guy and American Dad.

rachel peepers   February 20th, 2010 - 9:14 pm

Seth Macfarlane, creator of family guy, has introduced a new low to the political landscape.
I call it the politics of toddler destruction. Since Obama hasn’t denounced it, I’m left with
only one conclusion. He thinks it’s funny. But he won’t think it’s so funny when Michelle and his
kids become the butts of some loathsome comedy. Or will he?

Yeah being accuse of being racist is so rare and carries so much weight these days. Why I think it’s been at least 30 minutes since a resident of the Pro Regressive Plantation played that card and that’s only in this forum.

DrEdu   February 20th, 2010 - 9:54 pm

Did I hear right? Did they (the script writers) just used the word Who_e and Down Syndrome Girl together?

I think we should know the names of the script writers…and we should demand they be fired and make a stink about them!

MikeNad   February 20th, 2010 - 10:12 pm

Vile crap from psycho-libs. I am done with this show! I will never watch it again! I knew this dirtbag would make a joke like this and am done with Family Guy. O’Reilly was right for calling Fox out for this vile crap! Family Guy used to be one of my favorite shows! I am done with it!

GoreBane   February 20th, 2010 - 10:34 pm

Seth McFarland, you’re big and tough. Do something big and tough, like attacking Obama’s terrorist mouthpiece Rashad Hussain instead of innocent kids. Oh, you say it’s less dangerous to mock handicapped babies than ruthless Islamists? How liberal of you.

Boxurian   February 20th, 2010 - 11:29 pm

As anyone who watches South Park knows, the screenwriters are actually porpoises. (See Cartoon Wars) The screenwriters don’t have names.

muggins   February 21st, 2010 - 12:41 am

Katie Couric should even be able to get better ratings than this dung heap.

Family Guy is a sick, perverted show so I never watch, except those segments attached to web forms to file complaints to the FCC.

Htos1   February 21st, 2010 - 9:40 am

SubjectofUSA seems to know something here,I too, fail to see the issue, satire is an old tradition, freedom of the press,AND the younger generation DOES call it like it is on some social/moral issues.I bet that really torques off some on the left(this WASN’T suppossed to happen).I have no problem with Family Guy,and knowing a little of Mr.McFarlane’s background,it’s even funnier. It seems to be quite fair in the satirical approach to all aspects of society.

Buford   February 21st, 2010 - 9:42 am

Why do they keep showing a down syndrome white victim instead of a low IQ or retarded black thug? I guess the liberal writers dont want to get kicked off the air. No black jokes or Muslim jokes because the writer would be labeled a racist.

doc   February 21st, 2010 - 12:02 pm

For the record: I regard “Family Guy” airing Down’s Syndrome persons in this manner deeply offensive and I hope the producers pay the supreme penalty
As a practicing Neurologist I cared for many persons with Down’s Syndrome during my career.
I made an number of observations pertinent to the “Family Guy” representation.
1) Down’s Syndrome girls are vulnerable targets to those who would sexually abuse them. They are generally eager to please and seek validation and approval. Unless parents or other caregivers are hovering these girls, and I presume the boys as well, are at special risk to predation.
2) Older Down’s Syndrome individuals are prone to develop early onset dementia, similar to Alzheimer’s Disease. This also diminishes their ability to defend themselves.
The “Family Guy” episode clearly exploits these vulnerabilities, trivializes them, and seeks to render humorous a condition that parents and caregivers of
Down’s Syndrome individuals deal with in loving and selfless terms. “Family Guy”’s producers are not merely a shame. They are a damn shame.

rachel peepers   February 21st, 2010 - 9:34 pm

I was walking past the White House, and detected a foul smell coming from its direction. Upon asking a security guard about it,
he told me it stinks so bad because we have to wait another three years to take the trash out.

caroline   February 21st, 2010 - 10:41 pm

Anything wrong with boycotting these people? What are you so afraid of? I’m not buying from any of the advertisers on Family Guy. My own personal political statement. No threat. Just fact. Join me.

JohnnyHero said this: “As far as any of us who have not watched the episode know, the whole thing could have been wrapped up nicely. There is no reason to be upset over this… once you lose the ability to laugh you’ve already lost.”

Relly? Whenever a progressive makes something vile such as this we are supposed to laugh but if a conservative does it we are to be re-viled? Nice double standard. As that old sage Bugs Bunny would say: “What a maroon.”

waterman61   February 22nd, 2010 - 10:55 am

Come on people Its a TV show If you don’t like it change the channel and just don’t watch it. No viewers – no advertisers – no show – its a pretty simple formula. Freedom of speech works for all in this country including those such as Larry Flynt Seth McFarland Keith Olbermann etc… You may not like it or find it personally disgusting and stupid, but they do have the right to say it. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing and no one is forcing you to watch the Family Guy. As the old saying goes, I may not like what you have to say, but I will fight to the death to protect your right to say it. Works both ways folks not just for Left wingers such as those crawl out of sewer at MSNBC or the far right wingers such as those idiots in the Westboro Church in Kansas. Freedom of speech applies to all Americans and there is no comprimise on that, so if you really believe in the equal application of Constitutional rights get over it, don’t watch or publicize their idiotic statements and they will just go away eventually. Stirring up controversy just fuels the fires

Greg   February 22nd, 2010 - 1:55 pm

I actually like Family Guy, but when watching this episode I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I know McFarland is a lib with disdain for anything right of Ted Kennedy, but much of the show is still clever and funny. But making fun of downs syndrome? I don’t think even South Park would do that.

Nathan   February 25th, 2010 - 1:31 pm

Honestly guys pull this big ol’ stick out of your hole. This is simply an animated cartoon… Getting so riled up over a few harmless jokes is a major waste of time, and yes I do have a downs syndrome sibling, and to be honest with you he loved it. Laughed his A** off. Why not instead of posting hatred for a cartoon (Which a LOT of people adore) go and do something creative.

ps, I am from the uk so I can honestly say I don’t understand most of the politics behind your arguments… But still… They are drawings

Kad   February 26th, 2010 - 12:58 pm

I don’t see what the big deal is, its a show. If you don’t like it don’t watch it, its that simple.

Markus Aurelius   March 3rd, 2010 - 5:44 pm

Typical Leftists Garbage.

Remember when algore made fun of people with autism by calling the republicans “the extra chromosome” crowd?

Its no different here with this stupid, brain-dead show.
