I’m not surprised an intellectually vacuous POC like Bill Press would have someone just as vacuous fill in for him. Doesn’t want to be upstaged, which explains why my adjustable wrenches never get called to fill in for him.

I had a severely disabled best friend for several years. (He died a few years ago.) His disability was being dwarfed (a little shorter than Gary Coleman), in a wheel chair, and havign a brittle bone disease (like Samuel Jackson’s character in the movie Unbreakable). The amount of mental torment he went through for being considered less than others, not worthy of girls’ attention, and being stared at by small children, etc. was overhwhelming for him. I suppose it may be technically OK to laugh at a comedy routine with Gary Coleman in it, but his actual life situation is no laughing matter. We will all be accountable to God for how we treat such people–hopefully how we would want to be treated. I find it ironic that a liberal, who is supposed to be a model of compassion, could be so cruel. How would he react if he had a disabled child that was made fun of by other kids. Would he join in mocking that child? Or would he just euthanize him/her in the womb? I hope we will go out of our way to protect the dignity of those in our society who are weaker than others.
