"Reagan created the biggest economic expansion the longest in US history. I rest my case."

Static99   February 7th, 2010 - 8:47 am

Not that Mr. Williams is a harsh leftie (he’s not), but he had nothing after that comment by Mr. Krauthammer.
Well, he did have a blank stare, then a good chuckle as he knew he’d been beat with 1 sentence.
I like Juan, but nicely done, Charles.

Dougtherug   February 7th, 2010 - 8:54 am

And now thanks to liberalism, it’s over.

ed357   February 7th, 2010 - 8:56 am

Does Juan ever get tired of carrying OBAMA’s water?

Oh that’s right Juan is a NPR guy….sorry silly question.

ChuckyCheese1   February 7th, 2010 - 9:00 am

lol… silence.

thefedupamerican   February 7th, 2010 - 9:01 am

I saw that live and YES, Krauthammer ate his lunch. Juan didn’t have a comeback…nothing! It was great! http://www.thefedupamerican.com

ChuckyCheese1   February 7th, 2010 - 9:03 am

btw, that was hardly a “pouncing,” more like a courteous interjection.

Terry   February 7th, 2010 - 9:05 am

Reagan did so by deficit spending. He was a Keynsian.

Charles Kirtley   February 7th, 2010 - 9:11 am

Knowledge and facts (Krauthammer) vs. emotions (Williams).

Dick Sicario Las Vegas. NV   February 7th, 2010 - 9:15 am

Juan is no match to Charles…never has been.
The look on his face says it all !

CHECKERS   February 7th, 2010 - 9:24 am

If Williams were an honest objective journalist, he would have pointed out that the unfunded Medicare – Part-D Drug Plan was a centerpiece of Democarat candidate Gore in the lead-up to the 2000 election, and, that Republicans and Bush did a “me-too” on that issue to get elected. Doesn’t anyone remember Newt Gingrich cozying up to Hillary Clinton endorsing the drug plan as if it were a constitutionally guaranteed right? REPUBLICRATS -DEMICANS, there’s all alike – cut from the same cloth – spouting from the same corrupt hydrohead!

And the media, including FoxNews, have their own agendas, templates, and bias – Beware of the Government-Media-Military-Scientific Community-Educational Institutional COMPLEX! Don’t tell me Government granting GE huge “green construction projections” has not accentuated the bias at NBCU and its commercial and cable channels. Don’t tell me the middle eastern cross ownership interest in Newcorp has not impacted the Fox channels. Don’t tell me the Middle Eastern customer base has not influenced the bias of CNN’s reporting on such issues.

steffy   February 7th, 2010 - 9:28 am

Let’s NOT be PC here. The black guy hates the REAGAN way because ity’s considered The WHITE WAY, which works! They labeled it The White way and made it taboo. THEY DID THAT. The blacks are the ones who have put the WALL between what works and what their own culture have allowed themselves to fall into. They have done it in a political and racial way that totally functions and grows on emotion and NOT fact.

FinanceBoy   February 7th, 2010 - 9:31 am

…and the comparability is…

George Mellow   February 7th, 2010 - 9:37 am

Let’s not forget Mr.Krauthammer, our national debt nearly tripled under President Reagan’s administration. “The love of money is the root of all evil.”

Hillary   February 7th, 2010 - 9:50 am

juan is an idiot. he is in obama butt without any air. he is a die hard liberal that is too stupid to think

skipper99   February 7th, 2010 - 9:52 am

Mr. Krauthammer is usually spot on in his commentary. The rebuff to Mr. Williams ws simple and factual. Pretty hard, even for Mr. Williams to distort History.

Supply Side always trumps Keynsian   February 7th, 2010 - 9:59 am

Sorry Juan, stop propping up a failed President. America wants the guy gone and you just keep up your unrealistic defense of things in the real world that don’t and never will work.

Kyle   February 7th, 2010 - 10:02 am

Liberal/Progressive economics always collapse under the weight of unsustainability and are the primary reason that government-based economies fail. Their eyes are bigger than their stomachs.

CM Sackett   February 7th, 2010 - 10:06 am

Mr. Krauthammer is vibrant, rich and phenomenal evidence that being physically challenged and in a wheel chair does NOT make one “handicapped”.

For this outstanding Warrior of reasoned Thought and Wisdom, it’s just a stable position from which to take out the knees OR head of the idealogual (I know, I just created a new word… but it fits) DRAGONS he regularly S L A Y S! :O>

Reagan is the ONE I voted FOR!

The rest were votes AGAINST the opposition.

Goldwater would have been much like Reagan, but I was only 10, I couldn’t vote FOR Goldwater :O)

My opinion and yer welcome to it!

realoldpatriot   February 7th, 2010 - 10:32 am

Terry: Please note that the President cannot spend, only Congress may spend. Reagan’s congress was much like the one Bush had – drunken spending.

Under Reagan’s tax cuts the Federal Treasury brought in more money then ever before and the drunken congress spent more than ever before.

Earnest T Bass   February 7th, 2010 - 10:45 am

That’s my boy, I rest my case.

kmichaels   February 7th, 2010 - 10:48 am

“Juan” the Black Guy is trying to get twice the Affirmative Action points. Do you want a burrito with that watermelon?

Vic   February 7th, 2010 - 11:07 am

Juan is actually black hispanic, born in Panama. He’s there presenting the other side, it’s his job. Definitely not a hard lefter.

You nailed it Buddy. Keep it up!

claspur   February 7th, 2010 - 12:01 pm

One thing I’ve seen with Juan is, sure have seen him getting more tame on issues and His hardcore liberal stance on many, since being at FOX.

He has real problems trying to defend the indefensible with-what Maobummercorn and His people are trying to pull-off, is why.

Calvin&Hobbes   February 7th, 2010 - 1:11 pm

Charles Krauthammer rules !

bulldawg   February 7th, 2010 - 1:28 pm

GEORGE MELLOW

You say that Reagan tripled the deficit, OK I’ll give you that, but what does your boy Barry got to show for his total destruction of the deficit. I rest my case. :)

Snailmailtrucker   February 7th, 2010 - 1:43 pm

It’s fun to watch the liberal progressives try to deal with facts.
Silence, confusion, blank stares, etc….
Then they usually fall back to the old reliable…IT’S BUSH’S FAULT!
lol

Happens every time!

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   February 7th, 2010 - 1:44 pm

America…Charles Krauthammer is correct and Juan Williams is always “left” in the dust when trying to debate him!

Juan’s thinking is always in defense of the Nation of Islam’s Messiah…his esteemed leader!

I really, really like Juan…but I really, really, think he is just another ‘mentally unstable’ Democratzi mouthpiece!

He refuses to acknowledge what “is…is”!

Thank you, Charles, for speaking our mind in the public forum of televised debate…you speak what millions of us think!

Terry, Reagan wasn’t a Keynsian. How old are you? Reagan was a sheer Supply Sider. Reagan had to spend alot on Defense to make up for the neglect of Defense under the 2nd worst ever, coward Jimmy Carter (Obama 1st worst). Yep, Supply Side economics = Freedom. Keynsian economics = Marxism.

StuartH   February 7th, 2010 - 2:37 pm

What more do you expect from Juan. Another progressive that is on the government payroll. How is the fed funded thing working for us NPR. It should be shut down and save a little money. If it can’t make it on it’s own then we don’t need it. Next they will be funding Air America. Keep your eyes open.
Just hope Fox wises up and get idiots like him off the air. I usually change the channel when he and Gerardo. are on..

john   February 7th, 2010 - 2:38 pm

.

Juan Williams is OK, his job is to give the liberal side of the argument — and then get destroyed every night by Krauthammer and Stephen Hayes.

Reagonomics   February 7th, 2010 - 4:45 pm

Reagan…

1. Trickle-down economics.

2. Little regard for civil liberties

3. Supported political lobbyists.

4. Hated conservation and conservationists.

5. Was a racial bigot; also attacked gays.

6. Nearly removed or weakened workplace safety measures.

7. Found people who labored for a living as repulsive.

8. Hated unions and labor.

9. Stongly supported dictators–Pinochet and Marcos especially.

10 Created a secret military and secret government, much like Cheney did.

11.Courted Sadam Hussein and furnished weapons, even chemical ones.

12.Wanted a evangelical form or rule–a theocracy.

Hey Obama, it’s the Economy Stupid! The Real Unemployment Rate is 17.4%.

Employers won’t hire and bankers won’t lend because they don’t know how much Obama’s socialist agenda will cost them.
1. Health Reform Bill’s real cost is $2.5 trillion over 10 years.
2. Cap and Trade Carbon Tax will cost everyone $2,000 to $3,000 more for electricity.
3. Stimulus Bill $787 billion plus interest equals $850 billion democrat slush fund.
4. Omnibus Spending Bill is $410 billion with 9,000 pork barrel projects.
5. Obama tripled 2009 spending from $467 billion to $1.4 trillion.
6. 2010 Defense Spending Bill is $636 billion with 1,800 pork barrel projects.
7. Obama’s 2010 spending budget is a record $3.6 trillion.
8. Obama’s 2011 spending budget is a record $3.8 trillion.
9. Obama wants to freeze some 2011 spending for discretionary programs. This is around $13 billion. Not much of a spending freeze, just smoke and mirrors to hide spending increases and to confuse people. Obama is very good at that.
10. The national debt is $12.3 trillion. Can our children and grandchildren repay it?
11. Congress voted, December 24, 2009 to raise the debt ceiling to $12.4 trillion.
12. Congress voted, January 28, 2010 to raise the debt ceiling $1.9 trillion to $14.3 trillion.
13. Obama’s administration is made up of 1960s leftist radicals, big government socialists, Chicago thugs, union bosses, liars, and incompetent boobs.
14. Investigate ACORN, SEIU, CZARS, Apollo Alliance, Van Jones, Jeff Jones, Anita Dunn, Mark Lloyd, John Holdren, Susan Crawford, Kevin Jennings, Valerie Jarrett, Ron Bloom, David Axelrod, Wade and Dale Rathke, and Andy Stern.

To the idiot “reagonomics” troll.

So, you leftists prove once again that all you are good for is lying your dumbasses off.
Your list was so blatantly wrong and stupid that it makes you look, well, liberal.

Whatwhatwhat   February 7th, 2010 - 6:24 pm

LOL at the reich-wing kool-aid drinkers. Due to rethug policies we now have biggest deficit since…Ronald Reagan.

Please stop the revisionist history. Juan was probably stunned at the utter BS coming out of Sauerkrauts mouth. I’d like to see Sauerkraut back that up with facts to prove it.

kmichaels   February 7th, 2010 - 6:55 pm

Nutnutnut still drooling his spittle on mamma’s basement floor again. God, grow the hell up you subhuman troll.

Guest   February 7th, 2010 - 7:05 pm

It’s so unfair – Krauthammer taking on the wimp and hammering him like that :)
Anyone who makes their living from NPR no longer has an independent mind, heart or soul. They belong to the company store.
Fox uses Williams just to show how silly the leftwingnuts are. You could replace Williams with Colmes and never know the difference. They live the same talking points. So predictable that it’s funny. You really could replace Juan with a preprogrammed Disney audio-animatron and never know the difference.

kmichaels   February 7th, 2010 - 7:15 pm

The liberal claim that Bush got us into a financial mess has a couple of big problems.

1) Dems were controlling the purse-strings during the time that they economy turned bad.
2) Dems under Obama have spent record amounts more money for absolutely no positive return.
3) Obama’s current ideas are guaranteed to cost and waste even more massive amounts of money, health care and cap and trade.

Dems must have their heads securely up their respective dumbasses.

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   February 7th, 2010 - 7:25 pm

Dear Terry…aka…Trent…aka Abdula at 3:23 pm…yes Bilderberg Bush-Obama will be held accountable along with his in power ‘mentally unstable’ Democratzi!

He and his henchmen, and all who voted with them, have put America into trillions and trillions of dollars of debt to a COMMUNIST PARTY that will be passed onto our children and their children!

When they come for repayment, what should we do, Terry, give them our children?

What the former administration did under the power of the ‘mentally unstable’ Democratzi for the last eight years…is nothing compared to what Bilderberg Bush-Obama has done with this Congress in the last year!

So please don’t even make the comparison…it is foolish!

The deficit doubled during Regan, but the drunken Democratic Congress increased spending by three fold. It was the economic recovery that was able to fuel the spending spree that our beloved Congress enacted. Congress is the culprit. Always have been. they spend like there’s no tomorrow with no regard for what is right, good, or sensible.

Whatwhatwhat   February 7th, 2010 - 10:49 pm

You’re not allowed to tell the truth or even half-truths Mark if you’re a nutbag conservative. You’d better take another swig of kool-aid.

I seem to recall from history books (I was a youngin back then.) that President Reagan signed those drunken Democratic Congressional budgets into law with nary a veto in sight. So ummm. What does that say about Reagan?
