Jackson Memorial: Mariah Carey Sings ‘I’ll Be There’

LA Times: In the very first verse Carey -- in a black, glittery dress -- made it clear that this would be a more restrained, elegant rendition of the song. Singing through the emotions, Carey was at a near-gasp in the song's opening moments. Her partner on the 1992 cover, Trey Lorenz, made an appearance here as well, heightening the performance's gospel undertones. Lorenz, in fact, showed off more vocal dynamics than Carey. But a more subtle Carey is a more graceful one.

This was a huge orgy of self=promoting low lives and liars.Carey was dressed highly in appropriate for this…Everyone talked about ME and MJ…ME this..Me that. Sharpton even said he wasn’t weird..WHAT? The ignored all his victims and the fact that he obviously hated being Bl@ck…They will all run around like Rats now to get his money. Rep Lee even wants a National Day for MJ…an admitted Pedophile who endangered his kids(not really his kids at all) who slept with strange young boys and thought it was cool. Who lied about having relations with the Mothers of these WHITE kids…Who ripped off so many people and didn’t pay workers that the courts are overloaded. He was even being sued by John Landau who made the “Thriller” Video…MJ just didn’t pay him..It goes on and one…and Bl@ck leaders want a National Day for this creep? They called his the greatest prodigy since Mozart? Unbelievable! I guess they didn’t, for example. listen to Mendelssohn’s’ A Mid Summer Night’s Dream” which he wrote when he was just 17…and all the other TRUE musical prodigies…Even Charlie Parker was 100 times as great as MJ.Also Duke Ellington..the list goes on and one..And 100 years from now they will still be listening to Frank Sinatra…not “Beat it.”
