‘It Was Vile Jim Crow’: Exclusive Interview With Black Business Leader Insulted by Sen. Boxer

"It was like being in Mississippi in 1945."

National Black Chamber of Commerce CEO Harry C. Alford talked with Breitbart.tv editors Scott Baker and Liz Stephans during Thursday afternoon's live edition of "The B-Cast."

Editor's note: The original confrontation between Harry Alford and Sen. Boxer can be found in the related links section below.

Black Independent   July 16th, 2009 - 8:02 pm

This was not about a disagreement over “climate change”, it was Boxer telling a black man that if you go against the Democratic Party we are going to label you as an Uncle Tom and destroy you. The Democrats think they own blacks. She, and many white Democrats, are the most racist people in america.

two idiots   July 16th, 2009 - 8:03 pm

I think he and Boxer are both boorish rude people. They deserve each other.
I despise Boxer but this guy was a typically impossible black dealer in race.
Most white folks are tired of nasty behavior from militant blacks.

american   July 16th, 2009 - 8:05 pm

The Democratic Party has two groups. Good blacks vote Democrat; Uncle Toms vote for someone else. Racists

HHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA…. You libs crack me up! What comes around, goes around!

Krazy Kunt   July 16th, 2009 - 8:24 pm

Barbara Boxsmells put the NAACP report on the record to show him that “Black groups disagree with you, Mr. Alford.” Similar to when some folks say, “Some of my best friends are Black,” and libnuts find that offensive. Boxer is an arrogant, self-absorbed twat. BTW, he said “Yes maam,” and he wasn’t chewed out like she did the fine Brigadier General a few weeks back. Is she afraid of Black guys?

Barack On The Bottle   July 16th, 2009 - 8:31 pm

Cleveland Lives!

Barbara boxer’s husband was a civilian MERCHANT Marine! Veteran my ass!

Lord Dreadmore   July 16th, 2009 - 8:38 pm

he is right, boxer is a flaming racist and vile reprobate.

14th Colonialist   July 16th, 2009 - 8:45 pm

Boxer is ridiculous! But arrogance seems to be the path of righteousnous in the halls of power! We have no longer any substanative moral compass; no wonder we suffer with the likes of Barbara “Ma’am” Boxer.

Matt   July 16th, 2009 - 8:52 pm

Harry C. Alford the next Senator from California.

Proud Lefty   July 16th, 2009 - 8:55 pm

Boxer is an embarrassment. What happened to my party??

Clement R Knorr   July 16th, 2009 - 8:59 pm

Vladimir Lenin would have been proud to claim Babs Boxer as his daughter!

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   July 16th, 2009 - 9:01 pm

Mr Alford…thank you for standing up against the barbs of Senator Boxer who was trying to manipulate the record and your testimony before them.

You made us all proud today, as Americans!

Thank you for your service to our country while in the armed services and thank you for your tenacity in telling it like it is!

We need more men/women like you in America…thank you!

Andrew   July 16th, 2009 - 9:20 pm

She is a moron! This guy wanted to talk business and she said he should be “proud” because she quoted another black man. This guy had a point to make and she wanted a bunch of crap put in the record.

I agree with Mr. Alford 100 percent. Who cares about what other “black” organizations say? We are talking about ENERGY!

Steven   July 16th, 2009 - 9:47 pm

It’s about time that Senator Barbara Boxer was seen publicly for being the racist that she is. When Harry Alford came to testify before her sub-committee, she essentially tried to call him a “stupid black”, and shut him out. But, he would not stand for it.

Kudos to Mr. Alford for standing up to Ms. Boxer with facts not opinions, with truth not myths, and with courage despite her bitterly arrogant treatment of him! Before today, I had never heard Mr. Alford speak. But after listening to him for just a couple of minutes, he got my attention and my respect. Ms. Boxer, on the other hand, lost what grudgingly little respect I had previously accorded her.

She could not believe that an intelligent, educated, and well-spoken black man would have an opinion different from the liberal tripe that she spouts daily. She could not believe that he came prepared with facts, figures, and the ability to intelligently use them. And, she could not believe that he wouldn’t just shut up and go away when she tried to assert her senatorial superiority. It backfired. Harry came away looking like the factually prepared and intelligent man he is. Senator Boxer came away with mud on her face.

We need more Harry Alfords, men who will cite the facts even if the liberals don’t like them; men who will stand for truth even when it’s unpopular or not politically correct, men who are not afraid of the Barbara Boxers of the world.

Harry, I don’t know if you’ll ever read this. But you have my deep admiration and respect. Keep on fighting the good fight!

TruthTeller   July 16th, 2009 - 9:57 pm

I had the privilege of hearing this amazing interview live, and Mr. Alford is one incredible, ballsy guy.

He was determined NOT to be treated like a 2nd class citizen, or a 2nd class intellect by the moronic Barbara Boxer, who has no respect for anyone. She hates the military, and apparently still believes black people are three-fifths of a person.

Why, oh why is it that SO many who share his race blindly follow the left wing, acting like weak-minded robot pawns of the democrat party?

Scott and Liz- this interview was a 100% HOME RUN!
More Harry Alford, please. More… MORE!!! :-)

Black Independent,I would have to have heard Boxer say that to believe it.Don’t you read these comments here? What you think these Rethugs are?
Most Blacks are Democrats because we are welcome in that party. You are not welcome in the Rethug party. You had better wake up. These folks on the far right are old school racist. This guy sounds like a set up.

Morose Musician   July 16th, 2009 - 10:19 pm

Democrats like “Ma’am” Boxer fear people who deal in facts rather than emotions and wishful thinking.

Mr. Alford made the mistake of commissioning a study by a highly reputable firm in order to predict the impact of the Cap and Trade Bill on all businesses in our economy.

He came bearing facts, and the facts demonstrate that Cap and Trade would be a huge economic burden on our already teetering economy.

“Ma’am” Boxer freaked. She panicked. She played the race card and dragged out resolutions and opinions of leftist organizations whose members have never produced anything other than rhetoric. The NAACP, 100 Black Men, and the Pew Charitable Trust are leaches that nourish themselves with the wealth generated by entrepreneurs.

Mr. Alford represents people who perceive a need in the free market, creatively propose a way to fulfill that need, raise capital, and take enormous economic risks to pursue the American Dream. These entrepreneurs do not have the luxury of theorizing or pursuing pipe dreams. They must deal with hard, cold economic facts.
They know a ridiculous, destructive idea when they hear it. They know instinctively that Cap and Trade is Crap in Spades.

It’s a shame “Ma’am” Boxer has contempt for the very people who have the knowledge and skill to lead us out of our recession and who very likely will develop market-oriented solutions to energy and pollution problems as well.

Linda Mae   July 16th, 2009 - 10:26 pm

Mr. Alford needs to have Sarah Palin address the BCC.

It is all about energy and how cap and trade will destroy our economy.

I can see a poster with Palin and Alford stating “It’s all about energy!”

Black Independent   July 16th, 2009 - 10:50 pm

To A Real Black Person, how does it feel out on the Democratic Party Plantation. You are living in a dream world right where Boxer wants you. I’m writing this post from Los Angeles. Let me ask you a few questions brother/sister. How does illegal immigration help blacks? How does pathetic public schools filled with spanish speaking kids help blacks? How does closed or overcrowded ER’s filled with illegal immigrants help blacks? How does black kids being used for target practice by illegal alien gang bangers help blacks? How does not getting a job because you don’t speak spanish help blacks? How does being surrounded by latino anchor babies, who got their citizenship using an article of the constitution that was suppose to apply to blacks and legal citizens, help blacks? How does paying taxes through the nose to support illegals who pay little or no taxes help blacks? Do you know who LOVES LOVES LOVES illegal aliens, Democrats thats who. For every Republican who loves illegals, I’ll get you twenty Democrats. Keep drinking the kool-aid and believing everyone but Democrats are out to get you. If you want to be a happy slave go ahead, but I got my a** off the plantation. I vote for policies and individuals, not parties. I haven’t hit a female since the second grade, but if Boxer had pulled this crap – well sir, let me tell you what GOOD blacks think – with me, that might have changed. I’m out of here. Reply if you want; I won’t read it.

Ken   July 16th, 2009 - 10:56 pm

This Senator Boxer is one of the rudest Senators I have ever seen. She does not represent the great tradition of the U.S. Senate.

Julie Ann   July 16th, 2009 - 11:04 pm

Mr. Alford, thank you for so eloquently exposing what a racist Barbara Boxer is (as most liberals are).
Liberals, in the name of ‘helping to take care’ of minorities essentially keep them enslaved in order to
garner their votes. It is the Republican party, the party of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr., that
promotes opportunities for ALL Americans, regardless of race, religion, or gender. Wake up America,
Liberal elites like Barbara and Nancy Pelosi want to keep minorities down by making them dependent on the
government. If people depend on the government, they lose their will to work and achieve and they are
rendered powerless. Republicans, by contrast, want EVERY AMERICAN to succeed and work hard to obtain their share
of the American Dream. I have seen hundreds of my former minority students coming into my classroom with NO
DREAMS and NO HOPE because of failed liberal policies which have created generational poverty through welfare.
I, as a Republican, believe that each one of my students can achieve ANYTHING that they desire in this amazing
country. It is the liberal elites that want to keep minorities as second class citizens…just sit back and
we’ll give you a welfare check. Republicans want ALL AMERICANS to earn and achieve as much as they desire.
students can be successsful and

Dunwreath   July 16th, 2009 - 11:22 pm

If I were your son, I would hug you without stopping. As an American you give me hope for my country and renewed hope that the people of this country will stand up and be intelligent, courageous, thinking people like you, Henry C. Alford. You honor us ALL.

Julie Ann   July 16th, 2009 - 11:25 pm

Liberal elites will NOT allow low income individuals to have access to private schools. Democrats work to stop
school voucher programs. Look at what Obama did to his own black brothers and sisters…he eliminated the school
voucher program in Washington D.C. Check out YOUTUBE about Obama and School Vouchers…
It shows how parents and students LOVE the school voucher program, but Obama and the Democrats decided to stop
the voucher program in Washington D.C. Why? It provided the kids with a BETTER EDUCATION for HALF OF THE
PRICE that it takes to poorly educate students in public schools. Democrats don’t want low income individuals
and minorities to have opportunites to attend the best schools. EDUCATION is the great equalizer, and the
Democrats are more concerned with keeping the teacher’s unions happy (and buying their votes)
than allowing each parent and child to pursue the BEST EDUCATION that they can. Thus, low income and minority
students who are being forced by Democrats to attend failing public schools are NOT being given the opportunities
to succeed. It’s another way that Democrats can keep thier “wealth and status” and doom minorities to
less successful lives.
Check out the voting records: Republicans support the school voucher want EVERY AMERICAN to have access to the
BEST SCHOOLS, and do not think that low income individuals should be forced to send their children to failing
public schools. Minorities need to research this issue and realize that Republicans are the party of equal
opportunity and the democrats want to keep minorities permanently in the lower class.
EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESSIN AMERICA and the Democrats failure to support school vouchers sentence low
income and minority students toreceiving a substandard education. Liberal policies are crafted to keep
minorities down…Wake up Black America you deserve much better than the empty promises that the Democrats keep
pedeling.
Former President Bill Clinton, Democrat, sent his own daughter to the expensive Sidwell Friends private school,
but would not allow school vouchers to be given to low income and minority families so that they could make a
choice to send their children to the best school as well. President Obama, Democrat, sends his two daughters
to the same exclusive Sidwell Friends private school, and he ELIMINATED the school voucher program in
Washington D.C. effectively denying anyone but the wealthy to attend the same school that his daughters get
to attend.
The secret is out, the Democratic party was and still is the party of slavery.

WTF??   July 16th, 2009 - 11:31 pm

I find it astounding that the trollies are all pouncing on Boxer. No one can know if what she did was racist except her. No one knows why she used the NAACP as an example, you are drawing your own conclusions because you WANT so desperately to catch someone on the left being a racist.

Yet you same trollies have spent 4 days whooping it up when racist rethug senators and reps use racist and misogynist!c language with and attacks on Sotomayor.

What a stunning bunch of hypocrites.

Jose Fuentes   July 16th, 2009 - 11:35 pm

I used to be a Democrat until I realized that the Democratic party is the real home of racists in the US. I am a Republican now because they want the government to lower my taxes and get out of the way of my hard work. My family is proud and hardworking and all Democrats seem to say these days is how we in the minority community cannot make it without them and government. Boxer should be chased out of office by Californians for making this racist argument. The witness was correct that she was trying to pit one minority member against another. We are all Americans, not the Democrats’ split-up groups. They are doing divide and conquer- keep the rich and poor, brown, white, gay, straight fighting so they can keep power. I am proud to have become a citizen the legal way and I am angry with people like Boxer who keep offering the fruits of others’ labor in exchange for votes and power. Wake up minorities… these people only want our votes, and to keep us dependent on THEM. Be PROUD of your hard work, don’t demand a politician give you want others have worked for, and NEVER apologize for wanting to keep what you earn!

out-the-door-poser   July 16th, 2009 - 11:38 pm

WOW and while your at it ask Pelosi if she can get her Puppet Obummer to produce his “REAL” Birth Certificate
If I were a Black American. I would be demanding to see the supposed Certificate that proves where he was born, what Hospital and the attending Physician..
Otherwise he is just a Mulatto puppet for the Dems.. Period

He is termed the first African American President..
Not the First Black American President..

Actually .. The Military rescinded their order to deploy when a Soldier defied the order without proof of the Presidents Birth..
ENOUGH Said
Now how do we kick the poser out of the White House? Maybe throw enough shoes at him.. maybe that he will understand..

Ashamed of myself   July 17th, 2009 - 12:00 am

WTF, thanks for the post. It’s textbook liberal condescension with an angry abbreviation – rethug – thrown in.
A wise white man is a racist, but a wise latina woman is not. How does a liberal spell double-standard. It’s too bad you weren’t born early last century in Berlin. You’ve already got blind hatred for another group, a brilliant mind (sarcasm) and a inflated opinion of yourself. Once you got the goose-stepping down, you would have fit right in.

Marcus   July 17th, 2009 - 12:17 am

“Most Blacks are Democrats because we are welcome in that party. You are not welcome in the Rethug party. You had better wake up. These folks on the far right are old school racist. This guy sounds like a set up.”

It is true that blacks are welcomed in the democrat party. The only thing is that they have to be blacks with a certain mindset, i.e. believe in big government and government control of all aspects of life, or else, you’re far from welcome in the democrat party as this video proves. In fact, you’re not only not welcome, but you’re not even a real black as you put it with your screen name. You’re some kind of heretic who doesn’t conform and dares to think as an individual. The republican party also welcomes blacks, but just like in the democrat party, you have to be a black with a certain mindset that believes in the party line first. So i’m not sure what your point is except to say that all republicans are racist and all democrats are wonderful folk even though they’re the ones constantly playing the race card, constantly pitting one race and one class against another.

Dunwreath   July 17th, 2009 - 12:25 am

Among the many highlights of the senate hearing and this interview I find the three items below particularly interesting:

1) Ms. Boxer rebuked Mr. Alford after he stated that he was a veteran of the United States army and she then claimed that she is married to a veteran. I understand that Ms. Boxer’s husband is NOT a veteran. Reportedly Ms. Boxer’s husband was a CIVILIAN merchant marine!

2) Among several other discrepancies, Mr. Alford points out in his interview that Ms. Boxer strayed far from the truth in her actual testimony. When asked for a specific example Mr. Alford did not hesitate to recall the following “She claimed that the EEI, that the Edison Electric Institute supports the Waxman-Markey (“climate change” formerly known as “global warming”) bill. She didn’t realize that EEI principles help me write my testimony and she is up there lying . . .”

3) Mr. Alford, who was born and raised in California states, “Let me give you a stat on San Francisco. When I was growing up, San Francisco was about 40% black. Today San Francisco is about 8% black and of that 8% – of that black population -more than 60% are unemployed or on welfare – that’s Barbara Boxer’s San Francisco.”

kadams   July 17th, 2009 - 12:47 am

Yeah Mr. Alford! The truth will set us free!

Sanity   July 17th, 2009 - 12:48 am

Watch the Boxer video — the intellectual debate of energy was lost on her when Mr. Alford, a Black man, was talking. She wanted to focus on how “proud” the Black participant and groups must be!! that she gave them an opp to participate in her show. Also — listen when she says “your” community and “my” community. Normal stuff for Liberals. Few in the Black community seem to notice.

Regular Guy   July 17th, 2009 - 12:52 am

Mr. Alford needs to run for public office, we need his clear thinking, pragmatic views to lead our country.

Jason S   July 17th, 2009 - 1:00 am

two idiots – you are deaf. did you even listen to the guy talk? boorish?

julie ann – you are an angel and i dig every word you said. i hope liberals mean well, but we know their policies are terrible for minorities and Americans in general, so I abhor them anyway.

Proud American   July 17th, 2009 - 1:06 am

It was a pure joy to see Mr. Alford put that Leftist Rag in her place. The voters of California should be ashamed of themselves for electing Boxer.

Dunwreath   July 17th, 2009 - 1:36 am

Among the many highlights of the senate hearing and this subsequent interview mentioned below, I find the three items below particularly interesting:

I know Americans heard Henry Alford today. I can only hope Californians will listen to Mr. Alford and shake off the last forty years of toxic “old-ways” dust that Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi so vividly personify. If Californians do so, they have a chance to no longer be people held hostage by these self-serving, millionaire politicians who act like they care about the very poor so that they can pay no more than “lip service” to ‘The Forgotten Man’ – the working people (now many of whom are the unemployed) of California – whatever their respective salaries might be or were.

After forty years, NOTHING, has improved in San Francisco and EVERYTHING has worsened. Poverty is greater, diversity is less, education is worse, small businesses are closed or on life-support. Without a twist of fate, the rich remain rich and those who would like to become rich find it is impossible because they pay out their incomes in high housing costs and higher taxes with nothing left on which to become “rich.” People who earn salaries are taxed at 40% and 50% and 60%. This is an insult and isn’t the least bit fair, it is just an effective way to insure that no one will ever join the “rich” they are just labeled as “rich” because they actually earn a living. Indeed the Boxer/Obama/Pelosi policies insure no one will become “rich” except for those who are already wealthy. That’s why Sen. Boxer, Rep. Pelosi, Sen. Rockefeller, Sen. Kerry (okay he married money), Sen. Snow, and the list goes on, don’t flinch at the programs they advocate – they have already accumulated their money. Notice that none of these folks propose that the IRS reach into a rich person’s net worth and levy taxes on that amount. Notice that these taxpayer paid congress people have exempted themselves from Obama’s plans to take over your medical care and medical insurance. They and their families will still have access to doctors and medical insurance that will not determine and ration their healthcare. TAKE NOTICE. They know that if they can incite black to hate white, democrat to hate republican, middle to class to hate the rich, the poor to hate the middle class, and on and on – they will win. LET’S COME TOGETHER INSTEAD. This is the idea the Mr. Alford advocates and personifies. LISTEN AND LEARN – TAKE A BETTER PATH.

Mom of 2   July 17th, 2009 - 2:25 am

God bless Harry Alford.

Stop the RACE-BAITING!   July 17th, 2009 - 4:02 am

Way too MUCH RACE-BAITING is going on at all levels in this current administration.

AMERICA NEEDS TO PUT A STOP TO THIS BULLSH*T BEFORE WE HAVE AN OUT-AND-OUT RACE-WAR, THANKS TO THIS RELENTLESS RACE-BAITING, FROM THE TOP ON DOWN. they are pitting us, one against the other, to detract our attention away from the money-grubbing, money-grabbing POWER PLAYS going on at the top!

IF YOU ARE FED UP WITH ALL THIS RACIAL B.S. BEING SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROAT ON AN HOURLY BASIS, SAY SO! CALL OR WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMEN & REPS AND DEMAND THAT THIS RACE-BAITING *CEASE & DESIST*!!

AAAAANDRE   July 17th, 2009 - 4:41 am

The race baiting goes both ways… (Boxer is still the worst)
So, the guy from the BLACK Chamber of Commerce gets upset when confronted with reports from other BLACK institutions and calls it racism? What the **** is the BLACK Chamber of Commerce? A RACIALLY Based organization. What does he expect? Where is the plain ol’ U.S. Chamber of Commerce? Where is the Mexican Chamber of Commerce? The White Chamber of Commerce? The Chinese American Chamber of Commerce? (I’ll stop here, you get my point). If BOTH of these bozos cared for ALL Americans we might all get somewhere.

scott h   July 17th, 2009 - 5:16 am

This story is on fire in the blogs. Do a Google news search for Boxer and Alford. The only *national* media stories regarding this as of this message are Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. Imagine if this type of exchange had happened with a Republican Chair and a minority hearing witness. He also called her ma’am. He guess he didn’t get the memo. lol

Far Right Wing Wacko   July 17th, 2009 - 6:58 am

claspur   July 17th, 2009 - 7:02 am

Funny how this guy mentions Jim Crow. I wonder if He’s bright enough to know that was instituted by democrats?

The upshot of this whole thing, excluding these two, is blacks are catching-on now to what the Dems have done to them over time since Johnson.

Carlos   July 17th, 2009 - 9:48 am

This white Mississippi conservative boy says we need more leaders like Mr. Harry Alford. You are my hero Mr. Alford!

Rick   July 17th, 2009 - 10:14 am

The senator is a public servant, if an apology is owed it is to both Mr. Alford and to the American people. Ms. Boxer deserves neither the title nor the office. She is a divide and conquer politician not a statesperson. Barbara Boxer is a really disgusting individual. The title senator is not a title of nobility it is the title of an elected public servant. It is time for Barbara to begin conducting herself if she is to have any credibility.

Dunwreath   July 17th, 2009 - 10:33 am

Mr. Alford sees America as I do. It is not a divided mix of masses who hate each other as people like Boxer and Obama would have us envision our country. LET’S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK FROM THESE CARPET-BAGGERS. LET’S REPLACE THEM WITH INDIVIDUALS WHO LOVE THIS COUNTRY. Judge them by their character as demonstrated by what they DO and not by what they SAY. Do this and the reality of 20% of our country controling the other 80% of our country will disappear like “hot air.”

Sean R.   July 17th, 2009 - 10:37 am

Black Independent, I totally agree with you dude, EVERYBODY knows that illegal
immigration is NOT helping black folks across this country. And your also right
about the situation in Los Angeles where you currently live, from what I’ve heard
illegal alien gangbangers are targeting black citizens and other groups of folks
out there. Black Indpendent, I currently live in New York, and there are too
many illegal aliens in the state I live in, especially in New York City (I live just
outside of NYC BTW), I’ve gone to alot of places in both NYC & NYS and there are alot
of foreign languages businesses, schools, etc., it’s a complete “chamber-pot” here
in New York, the samething can be said for California, New Jersey, Florida, Arizona,
Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, etc. And as for A Real Black Person, man get your
head out of your ass stupid, you do know that white-socialist-liberals are using
black people and minority people in order for them to vote democrat and be dependent
on the government, etc.

Liberalism is a Mental Disorder!!!!!

Obama’s new healthcare plan is titled:

QAHCAA, (Quality, Affordable Health Coverage for All Americans)

Am I reaching here, or has anyone else noticed…

QAHCAA…is pronounced…CACA*

(*…ca·ca f. 1) colloquial (excremento) poop; 2) (defecto) defect, error; 3) (porquería) crap, junk…)

Surely, this was not intentional…or, was it?

Dave   July 17th, 2009 - 12:16 pm

“Jooz” like Barbara Boxer are now experiencing the backlash of 45 years of racial hustling, victimization, identity politics and aggravation tactics that have divided this nation so effectively.
But hey, isn’t it perfect timing for all of those “hate speeech laws” that will put a lid on people discussing their tactics in a public forum?.
Just the fact that I have to mispell the very first word in this response to help keep it from being censored shows how bad things are getting when it comes to speech and debate.

kadams   July 17th, 2009 - 12:16 pm

Mr. Alford is the bomb! Can’t he run for something. He is sensible and centered. I like Mr. Alford’s chances as a senator and then president.

Hey “real black person”, ignorance is bliss; wake up and smell the reality of the democratic party: they exist to grow their control over ignorant people like you who think they have your best interests at heart when the fact is they couldn’t care less what happens to you. Do yourself a favor and research the civil rights history of this country (supported by Republicans and voted against by Democrats) and the rich history of blacks in the early Republican Party. Equip yourself with knowledge and then judge again what “welcome to the party” means to democratic leaderships today…

erik   July 17th, 2009 - 12:38 pm

White Liberal Compassion is always condescending, no matter who the (unlucky) recipient may be…..

GaHusker   July 17th, 2009 - 12:49 pm

Wait aminute, don’t you all know, liberals’ bigotry is alright because it is all for a good cause!! People who vote a straight Democrat ticket should wake up and know their party has been and will continue to be more harmful to their best interests. The Democrats live for one thing and that is how can they acquire and keep their power. Their ’causes’ are just fences to cover for their need for POWER!!!

mako   July 17th, 2009 - 12:50 pm

Whaaat? She didn’t insist that the CEO address her as ‘Senator’?

Rnigh   July 17th, 2009 - 12:51 pm

Barbara Boxer has clearly seen too many episodes of South Park. She is cleary under the impression that Jesse Jackson is the Emperor of black people and apparently the NAACP is the Senate. She actually thinks that because the NAACP approves this program(and is apparently willing to pretend that there are all these “Green Jobs” all over the place) that this guy has to approve too because he is black. It show the insulting paternalism that is at the core of left-wing liberalism.

ddavenport   July 17th, 2009 - 12:52 pm

I am still waiting (but not holding my breath) on when the major media outlets are going to pick up this story.

Boxer is an ignoramus and California should wake the hell up and bounce her out of office.

Three cheers for Mr. Alford!!!

"a real black person" sounds suspiciously like a liberal stereotype   July 17th, 2009 - 1:00 pm

Hey, “a real black person,” you sound a lot like someone’s sock puppet. Typical condescending lib poseur.

Defend the liberals’ bigotry and hypocrisy, there’s a good brainwashed thrall “self-appointed operative.”

Oh, how you *hate* to see that the man in the video can think beyond some tragically misplaced loyalty to the truly racist, race-baiting Democrat party, which has continually *played* the minorities in this country for their vote. It’s condescending, for sure.

Ricky D   July 17th, 2009 - 1:01 pm

Typical libs. Boxer should resign.

Tony   July 17th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

re: WTF??

Nothing is funnier than someone being hypocritical about someone being hypocritical. Go suck an egg.

Dennis   July 17th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

This is very refresh to hear and is confirming to me what I’ve felt coming from “Senator” Boxer for a very long time.
Jim Crow, thank you and go get them

Bay Area Ex-Pat   July 17th, 2009 - 1:09 pm

I used to live in the Bay Area years ago, and I can remember when Barbara Boxer was on the Marin County Board of Supervisors. Back then, most Bay Area folks considered her “crazy liberal”, even by the standards of Bay Area politics (so was Nancy Pelosi), in contrast to mainstream Democratic politicians like Dianne Feinstein, who was (and is) universally respected. I am stunned that both Boxer and Pelosi have reached high office, since they always seemed like strictly local talent when they were starting out.

Achilles   July 17th, 2009 - 1:09 pm

Thank-you Mr. Alford. Boxer, like all of the big ticket democratic fools are vile racists. They along with the self appointed leaders of the black community thrive on the misery they have inflicted with their insane policies and programs that have all but destroyed the people they profess to look after. Until these charlatans are silenced by the likes of Mr. Alford,Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Bill Cosby etc., our nation wil never make significant progress in real race relations. They are nothing but hate mongers. Fulfilling the historic democratic party role. Again, hats off to you Mr. Alford. PLEASE run for public office.

kevin   July 17th, 2009 - 1:10 pm

this guy was looking for an oppurtunity to make a comment on racism in any fashion he could, those who look for RACISM ARE RACIST, THATS A FACT. LISTEN TO HOW HE ANTICIPATES FOR THE THE OPPURTUNITY!!!!!!!!!!

Irving Stark   July 17th, 2009 - 1:11 pm

oliver,

in response to your comment that Ms. Boxer’s husband was a merchant marine and not a veteran:

The merchant marine is a civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Navy, but not a uniformed service, except in times of war when, in accordance with the Merchant Marine Act of 1936, mariners are considered military personnel. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed a bill into law granting veteran status to merchant mariners who served in war

Gilby HI   July 17th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

Please Mr. Harry C Alford except our apology for the behavior of California Senator Barbara Boxer. I also was born and raised in the Golden State, educated and exposed to this behavior by so called public servents. As you know Environment and Public Works is a big money committee and Senator Boxer need to be exposed for here real interest in your comments.
Thank you for your bravery and strength on this issue. California will never come out of this downward economy until the Barbara Boxer in Government are brought to light.

Mary   July 17th, 2009 - 1:13 pm

The contempt I’ve always felt for “Ma’am” Babs Boxer was just magnified when I read this story. What a moronic, classless, arrogant, rude, imbecile. She should resign but she won’t. In 2010 if the voters in SF don’t kick her out, they’re the imbeciles. Kudos to Mr. Alford for his intelligence and standing up to her. We need more people like him to ‘lead’!

demoncats   July 17th, 2009 - 1:13 pm

the only ex-Klan member serves on the party with a “D”… and in the past it has always been that party that stood against equal rights…

Jim Kress   July 17th, 2009 - 1:14 pm

Democrat “Town Hall Meetings” are populated by “citizens” by invitation only. So, anyone who might ask Boxer about her attitude would never be included. That is the Democrat method for setting up “Town Hall Meetings” that are deliberately populated only by Democrat supporters.

Terry   July 17th, 2009 - 1:15 pm

Great interview. Mr. Alford sir, you are a great American. I agree, she was not debating the merits or the facts, she was just saying oh – I have other black people that agree with me, so there. She is ignorant, racist, insulting, and arrogant.

Also – thanks Breitbart.tv for giving us real news.

Hussein Obozo   July 17th, 2009 - 1:15 pm

It’s perfectly ok to be racist if you’re a Democrat. Nothing here… Move on…

the Angelus   July 17th, 2009 - 1:19 pm

Dear Sen. Boxer:
We noted with great interest your “green energy” smackdown match with Mr. Alford on YouTube under: “Sen. Barbara Boxer accused of racism by head of Black Chamber of Commerce”
We fear that your tete-a-tete with Mr. Alford was quite revealing. Must all black people think alike simply because they have black skin? Did you actually believe that Mr. Alford was going to adopt a “I wanna be your house slave” mentality as you so liberally condescended to him?
Perhaps we could be a minor prophet and predict that you are in big trouble if California voters learn what the rest of us already know.

P.S. Why didn’t you erupt as Mr. Alford continually addressed you as “ma’am”? Gotta luv the guy!

Daryl   July 17th, 2009 - 1:20 pm

We Democrats have the best deal going. Our politicians are millionaires who pretend they’re for “the little people.” We’re so good at fooling the little people that the blacks and Latinos who we control vote for us uncritically time after time after time. You Republicans control a bunch of rednecks whose birthrate is declining. Democrats contol all the minorities, who have high birth rates and are streaming in from Mexico so fast it will make your head spin. We will control American government forever by virtue of demographics. So we have to scare blacks in order to keep them in line…our party line.

Hahaha…suckers.

Margie   July 17th, 2009 - 1:21 pm

THANK GOD FOR MR.ALFORD. Our wonderful family looks like the UN, in our family we have just about every color (white/black/Hispanic/Native American) every religious background (Catholic/Baptist/Muslim) and life style (Straight/Gay), and I’ll bet a majority of the people who read this have a similar family structure. I thought America was moving forward nicely on its own and WITHOUT intimidation of any kind. It might not have been going as fast as some people wanted but it was moving forward. Now it’s REGRESSING not progressing all because of people with agendas. Fighting for their “race” is a way to separate us all, and it scares me to death what they’re doing. But what scares me even more is just about EVERYONE is complaining and/or posturing and not a single person out there have a plan or suggestion on how to stop it from disintegrating even more. Please let’s stop complaining; think of a peaceful solution and move on it. I have faith we can make a difference in 2010 if we work together, but people will splinter or worse yet disengage if they feel uncomfortable. I’m sure the majority of us want to come together to make a difference. I, and I’m sure many more would like to join up/follow anyone that has a solution that will stop our country from falling apart even further, and I agree we need someone to lead us right now! GOD HAS BLESSED OUR COUNTRY AND THOSE WHO LOVE IT, and there are a lot of us. Neither I nor any of my family/friends/co workers/church friends have ever been polled so therefore, I don’t believe the polls have ever represented us accurately, just look at all the surprises at the last election cycle. HAVE FAITH WE ARE STRONG IN NUMBERS, 2010 is coming and WE CAN START THERE! We as individuals may not be able to (or want to) lead an entire movement, but we can stop letting others motivate/indoctrinate our young family members to blindly vote for inappropriate politicians/issues. We have more influence over our children than we think or realize but if we don’t talk to them others will. My child told me she would not have voted the way she did had she’d known just a LITTLE more, she got caught up in the “hype” just like her friends! We all have to get off our bums, educate our children and VOTE! If anyone wants to step up to the plate, I’m ready to follow/help!

Vaughan   July 17th, 2009 - 1:23 pm

God Bless Mr. Harry C. Alford CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce for standing up to that arrogant “Senator” Boxer. It’s about time people started to push back on these nasty government officials who think they own you and everyone else.

Keep up the good work Mr. Alford.

Barbra Boxer   July 17th, 2009 - 1:24 pm

Hey, I don’t have anything against black people – as long as their left wingers. But if you’re not a hard-core leftist like myself, then you’re not really black. You’re just an oreo.

Scott b   July 17th, 2009 - 1:25 pm

Hey, scott h. Calling fox news “comedy” is priceless. Just because they are reporting it doesn’t make it less true. Does that mean you condone Boxer’s statements? If you can’t attack the message you libs attack the messenger. Just like with Joe the Plumber.

What What What   July 17th, 2009 - 1:28 pm

A racist calling a feminist a racist. Affirmative Action leadership in action.

John   July 17th, 2009 - 1:29 pm

50 years ago a black neighborhood looked pretty much like any neighborhood. There were – well to do, middle class and poorer people. There were nice shops, restaurants, cleaners, hotels, movie houses, etc. All owned by black people. There also were schools and churches and they went to those, too. Fast forward 50 years of social engineering by fools that have no sense much less any business running other peoples lives. That would be the federal government and the socialist groups that say they want to help. IT IS A LIE – A BIG FAT LIE. LOOK AT THE RESULTS OF 50 YEARS OF SCREWING ALL AMERICANS. LOOK AT THE TRUTH.

Evan B   July 17th, 2009 - 1:31 pm

If you take a moment to watch the original video on youtube, you will notice that Mr. Alford clearly instigated the confrontational attitude.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE_jGD5nZ6U

All Barbara was attempting to do was build diverse support for the case and Alford just jumped on the race-bandwagon. He has totally blown this out of proportion.

If anyone had some sort of racial attitude during that altercation, it was Mr. Alford.

Joel   July 17th, 2009 - 1:32 pm

WTF:

“I find it astounding that the trollies are all pouncing on Boxer. No one can know if what she did was racist except her. No one knows why she used the NAACP as an example, you are drawing your own conclusions because you WANT so desperately to catch someone on the left being a racist.

Yet you same trollies have spent 4 days whooping it up when racist rethug senators and reps use racist and misogynist!c language with and attacks on Sotomayor.”

1. Do you think if the witness were white she would have brought up some stupid NAACP comment? I know you’re a lefty but even you can’t be idiotic enough to think this was brought up for any reason OTHER than race.

2. I had no idea that asking a woman to defend comments she made was “misogynistic.” Just curious, what was your response to Condi Rice being called an “Aunt Jemima” on a left-wing radio talk show?

TOJ   July 17th, 2009 - 1:33 pm

Many thanks to Harry Alford for standing up to the likes of arrogant liberalism personified by Ms (call me senator please) Boxer.

liniie   July 17th, 2009 - 1:39 pm

When enough people finally figure it out, they will go after the left with pitchforks. They have almost ruined the real America. But not for long.

Pelosi   July 17th, 2009 - 1:39 pm

To: “Irving Stark “. So her husband is a veteran based on a technicality rather than actual military service. How Quaint! here we go again trying to figure out what the meaning if “is” is.

Mambo Bananapatch   July 17th, 2009 - 1:40 pm

This is too funny.

A guy heading up the “Black Chamber of Commerce” sanctimoniously denounces a woman for being “racial”. That would be funny enough by itself, but as it turns out the woman—who indeed is highly “racial”—cannot credibly respond, having herself helped to create the political environment in which the guy feels comfortable enough to be openly “racial” and critical of the woman for being “racial,” knowing the woman can’t point out his hypocrisy because she’s white and he’s black, and it would be racist.

I don’t know how Alford kept a straight face. Bet he fell down laughing after he left the hearing room.

richard   July 17th, 2009 - 1:40 pm

BOXER is terribly embarassing…no wonder the world has contempt for the USA. She is absolutely/unquestionably a racist. The stupidity of California voters, voting in a capetbagger who has gotten rich forwarding her husband a Port to the Chinese and far greater items. All you have to do is take on look at her 6th street San Francisco properties to know she cares less about the poor and only about helself.

BRAVO….Mr Alford. Hopefully more will rise from his presence.

John   July 17th, 2009 - 1:45 pm

MARGIE at 1:21pm—
I too am ready to step up to the plate. And I know many, many that feel the same. There is a huge ship turning around and there will be political h*ll to pay in 2010.

Bwahaha   July 17th, 2009 - 1:46 pm

Yeah Hoover did nothing which is why we had projects like the Hoover dam during the Depression, check your history before you spout facts. Blame Bush is only getting this government so far before the people realize what a mess they voted into office. That 51%deserve everything that happens as a result…

Carl Parsosn   July 17th, 2009 - 1:50 pm

Does it surprise you that Democrats are always shown to be the biggest bunch of racist thugs on the planet?

The KKK was a creation of Democrats to punish blacks who voted for Lincoln’s Republican party.

Barbara Boxer thinks the only good black is a black that does her bidding…cleaning her clothes, tilling her fields, giving her votes. Leave the plantation, and she’ll go after you and lynch you!

Lee   July 17th, 2009 - 1:51 pm

There are notable exceptions, however, most of these are true of the typical liberal black.

As an aside, ODuma is NOT Black or African America. In order to be Black, he would have had to have at least one parent who was the descendent of African slaves in the US. Instead, his lineage is made up of African, who ironically not only sold our descendents into slavery, but also think VERY little of African Americans.

Terry   July 17th, 2009 - 1:53 pm

Those caught up in the whole left/right, conservative/liberal, republican/democrat thing really need to wake up. It just makes you closed minded. Life isn’t that simple. No one can be stuck into such simplistic labels. The powers that be sell us coke/pepsi when they really aren’t that different so we don’t notice the real us vs. them is the people vs. the “elites”.

They even use the same color branding scheme – red/blue.

This technique is ancient because it works. Neither group is on “your” side, but once you pick one” and start identifying storngly with it – you stop really noticing, learning, and processing information for yourself – instead you wear the filters they give you, and misdirect your energy.

Notice how most politicians, if they aren’t already rich, become rich while in office.

Carl Parsons   July 17th, 2009 - 1:56 pm

People like Terry need to grow up and quit trying to make peace with evil.

Blue State   July 17th, 2009 - 1:57 pm

More blacks wanting handouts, what’s new?

richard10516   July 17th, 2009 - 1:57 pm

In light of her support of Sotamayor, one would think Boxer would understand that a wise old black man with a wealth of business experience would have a better understanding of the effects of energy legislation on commerce than an silly old arrogant white women vested interest in the success of this bill.

Fact is, she thinks we’re all idiots!

Nashville conservative   July 17th, 2009 - 1:57 pm

Harry Alford for President!

Terry   July 17th, 2009 - 2:00 pm

Your very mistaken Carl. Reread what I said. Identify the real evil. I said nothing about “making peace”.

American   July 17th, 2009 - 2:02 pm

The thing that irks me is how democrats are constantly calling everyone that they disagree with racists. But democrats, as is clearly shown in the video exchange, are the biggest racists of all. Just who were the fools that got duped into voting for them?

James   July 17th, 2009 - 2:03 pm

Boxer and her elite buddies are all racists. They use minorities as pawns in a game of power. Keep them poor and keep their vote. Do you really think that “cap and trade” is going to help only poor person of any color? We need to stop them or we will all be poor.
