IMO the reason that we have not seen wage inflation in this country can be directly related to the availability of cheep labor provided by the illegal aliens that have poured across our southern border. These workers have taken jobs considered entry level positions from our younger citizens. These jobs have now become jobs that Americans won't do, not because they are dead end jobs (no possibility of advancement), but because they now no longer pay living wage for an American.

It's not only entry level jobs but jobs all through the trades.

I can't tell you how many times I've attempted to hire someone to do craftsmen level work in a building or construction trade only to have the contractor try to roll in a truckload of OJT, non-skilled labor to do the job. A job that will inevitably need constant supervision and several re-do's and still will not be done to the standards of the displaced U.S. craftsmen. Sometimes you do not get what you pay for.

If you think it's only entry level jobs, ask the people who used to earn their living in the trades/construction fields.

I could also cite examples of off-shored software engineering projects where the winning bidder called the company that bid out the project, in mid-project, asking for, no make that demanding that some of the remaining software engineers from the company that bid out the project be assigned to the project to insure the successful completion of the project. I doubt I'm the only person who has personal knowledge of similar cases of such insanity in action.

If you think it's only entry level jobs, ask the people who used to earn their living in the Information Technology fields.

I believe that under current USA law if you break into my house I have the right under the US Constitution to defend myself by exercising my 2nd Amendment right.
