It is a lot worse than you think. Look closely at the photos of the cadets who were holding books….notice any medals? At least one cadet has a “Combat Infantry Badge” and SEVERAL campaign ribbons. This means that this cadet was an enlisted man, probably made the rank of Staff Sergeant or better, and was RECOMMENDED TO ATTEND WEST POINT because of probable excellence in leadership and bravery, fitting an Officers Commission, via West Point. Not only did Traitor Matthews impune all of West Point, a military Engineering Academy, he impugned the good reputation of our COMBAT VETERANS. As a medical perswon, I try not to recommend violence, but as an Army Vet, would someone please take him out to the woodshed and “learn him some respect”.

As a West Point grad, I appreciate the passion of the messages on this board. I found Mr. Matthews comments after President Obama’s address so offensive that I sent a message to NBC News yesterday, registering my displeasure. However, I found his apology last evening to be welcome and sufficient. I am often opposed to Mr. Matthews’ politics and world view. But in a time where few pundits and “journalists” own up to errors and apologize, I found his expression sincere and complete. I sent an email to NBC News this morning telling them that I accept this apology as a graduate. For your consideration.
