Huntsman Spars with Fox & Friends Hosts Over Global Warming

Presidential candidate John Huntsman had sent a message out on Twitter stating he believed in evolution and global warming. The folks at Fox & Friends challenged Mr. Huntsman on the comment that was seen by many as an attack on Gov. Rick Perry.

Koropokkur   August 29th, 2011 - 4:33 pm

Evolution is a Theory! The Cambrian Period showed an explosion of life; this disproves the evolutionary "theory" that all things evolve over time and all come from a "COMMON ANCESTOR!" BTW… if you look into the Cambrian, notice the high level of CO2 which may have lead to the explosion of life. This also disproves Global Warming alarmists in their assumption that CO2 will be detrimental to life.

peteee363   August 29th, 2011 - 4:35 pm

evolution(rino), global warming(mega rino), perhaps he should run against obama, in the other primary?

people who don't think evolution is real are morons not worth talking to. Same goes for people who believe in global warming.

Pobbo©®™   August 29th, 2011 - 4:55 pm

Also, if you look at the Cambrian Extinction – 99% of everything then died – and somehow there were new animals that started the next epoch. Evolution falls apart when Darwin says that he can not find the linage for millions of animals.

And recently "scientists" (if we can still believe anything they say) have concluded there are 8 million animal species on the planet – yet they can only identify 1.8 million of them. Where are these other 6 million species? Hiding in plain sight – or just don't want to be discovered.

At least Bigfoot has a linage – or maybe it is not a linage – but still alive. Gigantopithecus.

And lastly, science has been wrong many times about extinction only to re-discover an animal that was *thought* to be long deceased.

Edit to add – there are some animals that are so rarely seen that they are the stuff of mythology. They do exist but in very very low numbers and generally not in the direct line of sight of humans due to the locations that humans inhabit versus the habitats of these very rare animals.

hairygujy   August 29th, 2011 - 4:55 pm

so now accepting evolution (a proven fact mind you uneducated folks) is RINO? jeez…

evolution is not a theory. It's been proven. And just saying that professors or collages or whatever are liberals and want to indoctrinate you or whatever nonsense you people say is a complete cop-out. Get an education and then come back and speak.

Manchops   August 29th, 2011 - 4:57 pm

Sorry, but, to be clear, Huntsman is NO Conservative.

palidin911   August 29th, 2011 - 4:58 pm

If you're a media elite, whats not to like about Huntsman. He comes off as erudite and sophisticated. The camera is kind to him, He believes in the same thing as the MSM, and most important of all, He's a guaranteed loser against the Loser in Chief. After he is "shown the door" so to speak, Huntsman will be on a "fault finding" mission on ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN and FOX against whomever the Republican nominee is.

Maybe he's just angling for a job with CNN now that Spitzer filed for unemployment.

peteee363   August 29th, 2011 - 5:07 pm

what makes you think i am uneducated? first off, it is a college, a collage is a group of things, such as a collage of prints. and these so-called educated college professors still cannot answer serious questions. such as, in a current species of pick the animal, they have very specialized parts of thier cells, that do certain functions, consider dna for instance. dna can mutate, and certain species can be bred for specialized features, think dogs. but, dna could not evolove from a single cell. dna is so complex, they still don't have a clue how it works. you are telling me, because you feel you are superior to me, i am too stupid to realize perhaps creationism may have played a role in these super complex mechanisms that are loaded up inside each and every person. computers may never be able to do what children with downs syndrome can do now. so please call somebody else uneducated, and perhaps you do not know all of the answers.

yes, you just proved my point. I'm not even going to try and explain why I say that because you probably wouldn't understand anyway.

evolution has a lot of problems, however it is the only theory at this time that we can make prediction with and do testing-until a new model comes forth we are stuck with this one, even with all the problems with it. The results from the testing of the theory does not disprove all of this might have been caused by a designer. As I look at the universe I see design while some choose to believe this all happened by nature alone. Neither one can be proven and both are based on reason-please quit calling those that believe in design stupid or unintelligent. Name calling on both sides is just childish.

Koropokkur   August 29th, 2011 - 6:05 pm

and your proof is?!

effinayright   August 29th, 2011 - 6:09 pm

You're talking nonsense. The Cambrian "explosion" doesn't "prove" / disprove anything about Darwinism. The "explosion" itself occurred over a period of just under 100 MILLION years; fossil records show that lower life forms had existed more than two billion years previously, and THESE early creatures had earlier ancestors. Evolution need not happen at a uniform rate; recall that the dinosaurs suddenly died off and mammals subsequently proliferated over a relatively short period of time [are you familiar with the concept of punctuated equilibrium?] as the result of an asteroid strike. Further, it's hard to see why high CO2 concentrations in the air back then could have had much to do with the proliferation of life, since all life Cambrian life forms we know of were marine plants and animals. maybe the water was more acidic as a result , but we don't know a helluva lot about the compositions of oceans then, except inferentially.

oi812   August 29th, 2011 - 6:13 pm

If you look at ice cores and tree rings you will see that the earth has been going through 500 year cycles for a long time. Also CO2 has followed the warming and not preceded it. We have been coming out of a mini-ice age from the mid 1800's and now for the last 12 years average global temps. have not gone up, while we have kept pumping CO2 into the atmosphere. We were warmer during the medieval warm period than we are now. that is why you could grow grapes in the northern UK which you can not now. So let's just say the theory of AGW has a lot of problems and the science is not settled, just because Al Gore wants to make billions selling carbon credits. Let's test everything and hold onto that which is good and stop name calling those you disagree with

PraiseTheLowered!   August 29th, 2011 - 6:17 pm

Koropokkur   August 29th, 2011 - 6:17 pm

Pobbo©®™   August 29th, 2011 - 6:18 pm

I choose intelligent design because that is what is most logical. How can someone rationally explain DNA or the use of sex when those genetic mutations do not necessarily prove adaptation but possibly a step backwards or many steps backwards.

From Ann Coulter's article of the 24th.

Most devastating for the Darwiniacs were advances in microbiology since Darwin's time, revealing infinitely complex mechanisms requiring hundreds of parts working together at once — complex cellular structures, DNA, blood-clotting mechanisms, molecules, and the cell's tiny flagellum and cilium.

Darwin's theory was that life on Earth began with single-celled life forms, which by random mutation, sex and death, would pass on the desirable mutations, and this process, over billions of years, would lead to the creation of new species.

The (extremely generous) test Darwin set for his theory was this: "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down."

Thanks to advances in microscopes, thousands of such complex mechanisms have been found since Darwin's day. He had to explain only simple devices, such as beaks and gills. If Darwin were able to come back today and peer through a modern microscope to see the inner workings of a cell, he would instantly abandon his own theory. http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2011-08-24.html

PraiseTheLowered!   August 29th, 2011 - 6:20 pm

Yes, probably.

NonPartis   August 29th, 2011 - 6:20 pm

First Global Warming and Evolution don't go hand in hand. There are people who believe in one and not the other. Second they are not all evil. Just the ones who observe the evidence of both sides of the MMGW debate and still claim that MMGW is irrefutable so that they may continue getting cash from the people trying to push their ideology upon others with the false and misleading data.

effinayright   August 29th, 2011 - 6:21 pm

Since Darwin published "The Origin" in 1859, hundreds of thousands of scientists have continued his work. Recall that Darwin didn't even have a genetic mechanism to explain inheritance; it was only forty years later, after Mendel and another generation of scientists, that the idea of genes and a mechanism began to be understood. Through such continuing advances has the "theory" been confirmed, both by observation and empiricism.

You make a fallacious argument when you claim that "scientists", apparently ALL scientists, believe there are 8 million species on Earth. Says who? Are you talking "consensus"?

Bigfoot is a myth. Ever ask yourself why people never see a Bigfoot family, only one individual. Bigfoot skeleton? Bigfoot scat? Bigfoot nests? I'll tell you why, because nests and scat would yield DNA, which would determine once and for all if such a creature were non-human.

As for being "wrong" about extinction: say what? How does that disprove anything about evolution? Your own edit offers a reason why some organisms are seldom seen.

You sound like a callow youth. Next time you visit your doctor and get a dose of antibiotics, you can ask yourself where the medicines and the theories behind them come from. Free clue: from scientists and Darwinism.

oi812   August 29th, 2011 - 6:21 pm

no they are just drawing different conclusion from their testing than those that believe differently. One can look at the evidence and come to a conclusion on both evolution and AGW. This makes no one either evil or stupid-test everything and hold onto that which is good

tntimjarts   August 29th, 2011 - 6:22 pm

well said Libtard

Pobbo©®™   August 29th, 2011 - 6:25 pm

The problem evolutionists have is they can not explain how millions of new animals sprung from nothing. I can't explain it either – so therefore I conclude it was intelligent design and not a random event that was nothing and became something.

They also can not explain how millions of different animals sprung from no previous beings during the Cambrian Explosion.

For example – using the Cambrian explosion as a standard in the last 2 million years – there would be 100's if not thousand of different humanoids running around. Each with different abilities and adaptive skills.

PraiseTheLowered!   August 29th, 2011 - 6:27 pm

HURRICANEPAUL   August 29th, 2011 - 6:33 pm

I believe in Darwin's theory of Natural Selection because it shows how stupid Liberals can be.

The typical Liberal Tribe give food stamps and wellfare checks to their weak and the weak in their herd multiply. Over the years and generations… there comes a time when there are way too many weak in the herd who are slowing down the overall herd and the worker animals in the tribe are getting weaker and weaker and pretty soon, a bunch of the strong are now hanging out with the weak eating all the food that the strong are hunting and catching.

Sure enough, a Conservative herd comes along and all the members of the Conservative heard are big and strong and they KILL all of the members of the weak Liberal herd.

There ya go…Darwin's theory of Natural Selection.
