Hume: Reid’s Remarks Amount to ‘Accusation of Racism Against the American People’

"The suggestion here is that the American public, being racist, would not accept someone who talked like an African-American and who was particularly dark-skinned. That really does amount to an accusation of racism against the American people."

I agree Britt – he might as well have used the word “macaca”!

Richard Henry   January 10th, 2010 - 12:46 pm

Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and all politicians (Ds and Rs) in office more than 10 years should be forced by term limits to step down. Gaffs by Reid and Pelosi show that after a period of time in office they no longer live in the real world.

Rexter   January 10th, 2010 - 2:01 pm

Please get off your high, horse, Brit! LOL! Hey, Brit, you saying some people talk like “4frican-Americans”? You think it is ok if you use the PC term?

john   January 10th, 2010 - 3:07 pm

When an individual, such as Harry Reid make broad statements about the “thoughts” of entire groups of people… the observation is usually based in his own “thoughts,” clearly exposing the bigotry, racism, fear, or anger whatever the case maybe that the individual has hidden in their own dark psyche.
Phony People, like Reid, Polosie, and Obama given the opportunity, will sooner or later sink themselves to the lowest levels of civility.

Sage   January 10th, 2010 - 3:10 pm

Harry Reid is a racist douche!

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   January 10th, 2010 - 4:03 pm

America…GOD bless Brit Hume.

It shows he is finally fed up with what is going on…like millions and millions of us!

Keep up the good work Brit!

Counting down:

January 19th – 60 slug votes
January 20th – 59 slug votes

HISTORY will be made! We all know how the ‘mentally unstable’ Democratzi like to make ‘history’ and we are going to help them do it!

Massachusetts is, once again, going to make HISTORY by repeating their patriotism of old and sending the ‘VOTE’ heard round the world!

Like, Brit, we are going to continue speaking out and speaking up the truth of what “is…is”!

————————————–

THE REVOLUTION OF THE SILENT MAJORITY BEGINS ON JANUARY 19TH IN MASSACHUSETTS!

1. WE ARE INFORMED
2. WE ARE INVOLVED
3. WE ARE GETTING OUT THE VOTE!

WE WILL REMOVE THE ‘SLUGS OF 60’…GUARANTEED!

IMPEACHMENT OR THE ‘ORIGINAL’ KENYAN BIRTH CERTIFICATE…IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME…AND 2010 WILL BE THE TIME!

Thor   January 10th, 2010 - 8:06 pm

Very insightful statement by Brit Hume.

NEOFREEDOM   January 10th, 2010 - 8:16 pm

America you are SCREWED unless you wake up!

Terry   January 10th, 2010 - 8:17 pm

Hume is such a detached dolt. Most Americans wished he had stopped shorter and simply said “No Negros.” Put the sign up on Congress. No, we will not be paying for your car and house, Black Obama supporters.

This story is BS. You have ideological gatekeepers appearing to slightly cross the line though they are funded by elites in search of monetary power and control and get the people to believe insignificant nonsense is significant. The bottom line is if things do not improve one group will eventually be pitted against another group for evil purposes and these stories become moot.

Sorry, but these folks seem to be a wee bit full of themselves!

I’d sure like to hear a body language analyst’s review of this clip. It seems to me that the only straight shooter was Brit!

I hear the sound of crickets comming from the black community.

mark destefano   January 10th, 2010 - 8:50 pm

so according to reid it’s ok to be black as long as you’re not that black and don’t sound like one. steele is right, dems set the standard with lott

youFOOLEDmeONCE   January 10th, 2010 - 8:52 pm

these lousy excuses surfacing that obama has no choice but to accept echos the recent defense of the woman at PUBLIX SUPERMARKET who removed PEARL HARBOR DAY and replaced it with happy Islam New Year./ her shield?? “i ven have a brother who served…” WHAT THE?????

this is who harry is – plain and simple. so much so it ended up in PRINT WHERE HE HAD THE ABILITY TO REMOVE I AND PRETEND HE IS WHAT HE ISNT.
obama likes 1960s mentality so now he gets a chance to swallow what he bit off?

youFOOLEDmeONCE   January 10th, 2010 - 9:00 pm

Anti Stupid   January 10th, 2010 - 9:21 pm

Again, it is Brett and Fox to TELL THE TRUCH. Where are the liberal attacks on Fox now?

fulljump   January 10th, 2010 - 10:40 pm

So Reid is a racist calling the American public who would vote for obama racist, meaning that obama is light skinned and does not talk like a negro making obama more acceptable. And the American public who would vote for a democrat with Marxist friends would be other democrats. Man if I was a Democrat or an independent who voted for obama I would be ticked off about that. I myself would not have voted for him no matter what color he was or no matter how he talked.

reda   January 10th, 2010 - 10:46 pm

Smell you! Harry Reid can smell you when coming to the capitol too so HE said, yes what he and B.Clinton said ARE RACIST, yet they tey to claim aveerage Americans who attend tea parties are the racist ones???? People don’t like their plans for this country and are called racist, yet when racism is hitting them upside the head they deny it. Saddddddd. Most people(few acceptions) are not racist, had nothing to do with the 50,60s attitides, yet we are accused of it as if those same things are happening today. Just simply not true. Dems try to keep people on the Gov.t “rolls” and everyone else no matter what “Party”(if any) or “color” are called racist if they disagree with a Dem.The whole time Repubs have actually done more FOR equal treatment. Really is sad and people I know DO feel Pres. and Reid being racist, Reid for saying and Pres. for dismissing it so readily.

My take   January 10th, 2010 - 11:22 pm

Yep, Reid was pointing out that he is enlightened and the rest of us are knuckle-draggers. Been hearing this from the Democrats since this last campaign for President started and before. And it won’t stop with this comment.

Senator Harry Reid   January 11th, 2010 - 1:27 am

Now if Barry Obama would tone down his Negro/Colored “shout outs” and “fist bumping”, and at least consult with Michael Jackson’s dermatologist, the racist American people would embrace His polices.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Signed,
Senator Harry Reid

P.S. Brit Hume is a racist.

===============================
Can someone explain why Brit Hume gets thrashed by the “media” for referring to Jesus Christ and Harry Reid gets a pass for accusing all Americans of being racists?

Liberalism is so bass ackwards

That is so lame.

I agree with Brit! Phooey to Harry Reid and the Democrats for always pointing fingers at others, when they are the ones who offend!

JOJO   January 11th, 2010 - 1:55 am

REID IS TRYING TO PUT THE KLAN BACK IN ‘AMERIKLAN’

What is it with this guy?

cc   January 11th, 2010 - 9:13 am

Brit Hume hits the nail on the head (again!)

What REID was saying with his remarks is that American people are bigoted, uneducated, rednecks and that Obama has to suppress his blackness in order to be accepted. He’s alluding to Obama “acting white” to get himself elected which is offensive to both white & black Americans. Consider Oprah Winfrey is the wealthiest female celebrity and was made so by white female Americans. REID has insulted not just middle class “white” America but has backhanded black America. (And isn’t it interesting that it’s the democrat party that wants us all divided into neat little boxes?)

Milt   January 11th, 2010 - 9:56 am

What a double standard. But the one I like is when Bill Clinton said that Obama a few years he would be serving him coffee. Democrats use race all the time and are by far much more racist.

Ray   January 11th, 2010 - 11:32 am

It’s interesting that Juan Williams doen’t think that “I would not be sitting here if Strom Thurmond would have been elected President.” Sounds as thought he thinks that his employer is of the same mind-set as Strom Thurmond.

Mark   January 11th, 2010 - 12:01 pm

The Democrats, by supporting each other with this double standard, make themselves look very bad– they will bury themselves in the end because they are the bottom feeders. I say let them keep each other company with the sickness, it will be funny when they all fail.

Tony   January 11th, 2010 - 1:39 pm

This is the Problem with this Country, If your in the opposing party your going to demand the idiot to step down, Now being a Independent I also think he should step down, but not because I’m not a Democrat, but I believe all these Office members, Senate or Congress think they are so much better and smarter than us. If you say something stupid and wrong, take the punishment, and if you can’t live with it resign altogether. What this Country needs is Term Limits on these positions of Public Service, after all they all say they do to serve their Country, Or maybe Pay them with Pay scale as the Military, they do it to serve their country also and don’t paid like our congress, or get the benefits and Perks the congress get. Yes it’s time for Term Limits ad For Reid to Step Down.
