Again, the revelation of socialism by the left. When will we as a county begin to fully understand what is so obviously blatant and fact. These liberal progressives want to re make America into a socialist nation.

May God help us all.

You better hurry, Comrade Obama. There’s not much wealth out here for you to steal. This is great. Let’s all have third world health care for twice the price and let our kids pay for it. You have a little over 7 months to completely ruin our country before we kick your butts out. You’re next. Fired up and ready to go!!!

We’ve been bleeding our liberty for a very long time and it’s time stop nursing and start levelling the field. Every day forward to November 6th, 2012 is one you should not waste. Educate and vote.

I believe the Communists are being contacted by their Dear Leader who is telling them to get the word out – THE SPREADING OF “OUR” WEALTH IS UNDERWAY.

Just like good little Nazis, they are complying with the Fuhrer.

RobUSMC4Christ   March 28th, 2010 - 10:24 pm

What’s wrong with spreading the wealth, sharing, and putting more money back into the pockets of hard workers? What’s wrong with cutting taxes on people who need more money? What’s wrong with making people healthier? What’s wrong with making sure the economy is stronger?

Basically, why was a Republican ideal of commonsense redistribution a good idea until July 2008? What’s wrong with fairness, neocons?

JoeKidd   March 28th, 2010 - 10:28 pm

Obama KNEW he was destroying the greatest economy in the world!

Obama on 2/12/2009: “You can measure America’s bottom line by looking at Caterpillar’s bottom line.”

Caterpillar on 3/19/2010: In just its first year, ObamaCare will raise insurance costs at least 20% and cost more than $100 million.

The debate was a referendum on socialism and they lost the public debate, and they rammed it down our throats anyway.

It would have been one thing if they had said, “We’re socialists, and this is socialism, and it will be good for you and here’s why….” but they didn’t, because they can’t win that debate either. Socialism is a lie and they prove it by starting it out that way here — for now.

Taking from one and giving it to another is immoral.

Jesus would tell you that.

Charity comes from the heart.

Taking from someone to give to someone else is called THEFT.

Guess you need to start working and THINKING harder.

victor t   March 28th, 2010 - 10:47 pm

To RobUSMC4Christ:

What’s wrong with spreading the wealth around? Do you think maybe that the “taking” of one man’s prosperity by a government is an American Ideal? Do you know that federal “income” taxes didn’t become a permanent fixture in the USA until 1913? And in 1913, there was no social security tax?

So not only does the Gov’t now tax the “earnings” of all men, and taxes those who earn more at a much higher rate, it does so with the explicit purpose to redistribute monies back to those who never earned it.

Let me ask you, do you also support my following proposition: Since we give our children a world where their success will be redistributed back to the less successful, then we should introduce this fact of life to kids in school. The good to excellent “grades” of high performing students should be taxed and some of their “points” given to those who scored lower on those same tests. Make American more fair. Don’t you think?

Why bring up our kids in a BS world where they keep what THEY work hard for and then have them join the workforce, that which school prepared them for, and have them realize that if they continue their hard work in adult life, they won’t be treated the same as they were in school?!

And I say all this a 5 figure, middle class earner. I’m a naturalized citizen of this country and I’m watching so-called “Americans” destroy it.

txmike   March 28th, 2010 - 10:51 pm

scott   March 28th, 2010 - 10:52 pm

RobUSMC4Christ

This is why:

We in the USA have the greatest standard of living ever in history. Our poorest of poor are wealthier than 90% of the world. Look it up! When you redistribute the wealth you don’t make the poor richer. It doesn’t work. It has been tried many times through-out many countries. Only when the free market, the law of supply and demand is left to work itself out do you bring up the standard of living for everyone.

Street people are making 1-200$ a day begging in this country. Children on welfare have laptops, stereos and tvs. There is no true poverty in this country. Our poor throw away more food every day than most of the world eats in a week.Want to see true poverty? Go to a third world country like India. How are they finally beginning to pull themselves out? By redistribution? I think not! It is by opening up the free market.

What’s wrong with cutting taxes on people who need more money? Poor people don’t pay federal taxes! So what are you talking about?

The top 2% pay a huge portion of the US tax bill already. Your argument is a red herring.

Your argument is based on the assumption that redistribution works. Do some research and come back with one example of where it worked and I will vote for Obama and Pelosi in the next two elections.

That is a challenge to all you lefties. One example of where redistribution has raised the standard of living for the poor. I have already given you an example of the opposite! We in this country have a better standard of living than any other country and any time in history.

A   March 28th, 2010 - 11:01 pm

Judging by the way they have mis-spent everyone’s money in the last couple years I doubt the more poor will benefit by their arrogant and unrealiable actions. They are a disgrace.

Jenny   March 28th, 2010 - 11:08 pm

Anyone who DIDN’T know this was a “redistribution of wealth” either wasn’t paying attention, or is really dumb. They’re going to focus on the economy next, but don’t think for a minute you’re not going to be hearing about a “redistribution of dollars for education”! That will be coming along with the “immigration bill”… they will need those votes for 2012. I, up until recently, didn’t think SOME of this was going to be too bad until my son, who is #2 in his business school class, was told by one company straight out that they were only going to hire 4-5 MINORITY students for the summer. But if he wanted to “shadow” for a week or two, that would be ok. Wow, talk about an “in your face” moment. If this begins to happen, we will soon have the white males losing any incentive to continue their education. The beginning of the dumbing down of business to be politically correct. The dumbing down of education has left us with a mess, if this is the route for businesses….look out!

Malcolm Y   March 28th, 2010 - 11:09 pm

Punish success and reward failure, what could go wrong? It worked great for North Korea, Cuba, East Germany, USSR, and China. So what they killed 100 million citizens, but everything was equal.

Barack Obama open Marxist president, yet we do nothing. Hope and Change. Hope and Change.

To the 53% of Americans who voted for Obama as yourself are you greedy or were you not paying attention?

jojo   March 28th, 2010 - 11:22 pm

The Liberals/ Progressives keep changing the debate by high-jacking words, the latest: greed and hate.

To liberals greed is: Having the productive worker not wanting to give away more of his/her paycheck to the government so that the democrats can buy votes from the lazy.

The American definition of greed is expecting a free handout off the sweat of your fellow American. Or better yet having illegal immigrants, like Obama’s aunt, getting free stuff from the tax payer.

To liberals hate is: Not wanting to give your money to the lazy. You must hate the unfortunate (lazy) since you don’t give money to them.

Hey, Barry Obama hates his aunt illegally living in the United States receiving welfare, free housing, food stamps, etc. Why doesn’t rich Barry pay for his aunt. Why is she still here.

Time to buck up Americans, enough is enough. Impeach Obama and deport him and his aunt back to Kenya.

Not too worried   March 28th, 2010 - 11:22 pm

I was worried about things for a while, but I think in due time the pendulum will swing back. The classes will remain the same. But hold on to your bootstraps because the next frontier will be a push to “even out the education dollars”. There’s quite a stir going on in Chicago again, and I’m guessing since the administration cut their teeth there, it’s the direction they’ll be heading. But when I worry too much, I reflect on one thing….there was a gal who said when Obama won, “Whew, now I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car, or paying my rent”. I heard throught the grapevine she’s now walking home to her cardboard box!

1redcent   March 28th, 2010 - 11:23 pm

RonUSMC4Christ…………………..spreading the wealth”, by making everyone but Barry’s cronies, poor, is the destruction of this Republic !

Lots of Dem pols already don’t pay their taxes, Rob. Has THAT made YOUR life any easier or better?

With almost 1/2 of the populace NOT paying any taxes, they have no stake in this nation and are nothing but a pack of parasites.

And now, going after capital gains and even the paltry sum of interest, people get on their bank accounts, we are set to go into a depression far greater than the GREAT DEPRESSION………….all in the name of “social justice”, or the redistribution of wealth.

Wait&See   March 28th, 2010 - 11:23 pm

Obama has the demonic spirit of Hitler. Israel isn’t the only one at risk… America is as well! Pay attention! This is not fear mongering. This is very scarey! Obama is going to destroy us from the inside and Israel from the outside. And he’s already started. What can we do individually and as a nation?

1.) Confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior & Lord. The rapture is coming. The Body of Christ will soon be removed and lawlessness will abound. The tribulation described in Revelation is right around the corner. Let him who has ears to hear, hear! Act now before it’s too late!!!
2.) Seek forgiveness for the sins of our nation. Every true Christian out there needs to seek the Lord’s mercy and forgiveness for the abomination our God given country has become.
3.) Pray for restoration and protection from Almighty God for both the USA and Israel.

If you are unwilling to do these things…. PREPARE!! FOR THE WRATH OF GOD WILL SOON ABIDE WITH YOU!!

Harry   March 28th, 2010 - 11:29 pm

Thanks to the republicans wealth has been transferred from the middle class to the rich. Income disparity has grown tremendously. Don’t tell me that Wall Street hedge fund managers deserve to make 100s of millions every year, just for gambling with other people’s money. How can you justify that? Reagan and Bush gave tax breaks to the very rich but did nothing to control spending. Hence the deficits. Bush inherited a large surplus from Clinton and turned it into a deficit of well over a trillion dollars. The economy was almost ruined by his idiotic policies favoring the rich and the globalizers.

Obama saved America from another Great Depression. Have the decency to give credit where it’s due.

Which side of the fence   March 28th, 2010 - 11:50 pm

Harry, while I agree that Bush did nothing to help the poor, Clinton didn’t do too much either. And let’s remember that while Clinton was in office, Geithner, Emanuel and Bernanke were reaping all the benefits working on Wall Street. Has Rahm given back the $18 million he made in the Investment Bank he was with? Was he proactive to try to rein in the mess at Freddie when he was on the board? Did he even go to the meetings? While I do agree they were far too complacent when the money was good…redistributing then would have been much easier…it still comes down to personal responsibility. We’ll always have some poor and indigent to care for, and we should take care of them, but we have far too many “living off the land”, and the mere 41% of the people who pay 100% of the income taxes can no longer support the weight. We’re at the tipping point. And if we start to limit the pay of business execs, then I think we need to start to limit the pay of actors, athletes and tort attorneys.

scott   March 28th, 2010 - 11:55 pm

Harry,

You make the wrong comparison. Look at the income disparity for India, for Cuba, China, Russia. There will ALWAYS be rich and poor. You need to compare the poor of this country to the poor of other countries and the standards of living. You lefties always want to compare what the Smith’s and the Jone’s have. I am glad that some make millions in this country. They also spend millions. That creates jobs. They pay huge taxes. That spreads the wealth.

Obama has not saved us from anything. The drop in oil prices has done more to give us any economic growth than anything. It has already been proven that Obama and the Dems spending bills did little to spur the economy and that a lot was wasted and most hasn’t even been spent yet. Many Jobs “so called” created costed 100’s of thousands of dollars. look it up!

What caused this mess? The housing crash. What caused that? People taking mortgages they couldn’t afford. Who pushed that? The redistributionists!

Another challenge Harry. With the understanding that the ones who spend the money being congress and the Dems being in control since 2006, tell me exactly what was it that GW Bush did to cause the economy to almost be ruined. Be specific and explain how it worked!

Christ told Christians to be charitable. He didn’t tell the government to steal from the wealthy and give to the poor. If you think he did then you haven’t read the Bible. And BTW. The wealthy in this nation gove three times the dollars to charity as the US federal govt does.

THELATEGREATUSA   March 29th, 2010 - 12:34 am

Goverment Redistribution of Wealth is the Devils work.
Charity is for an individual to decide and to take credit for.
For goverment giving charity gives a person no credit for giving of their money.
Goverment is for offering services not Redistribution of Wealth.

Too bad you let the GOP get hijacked by Zionist traitors. You lost Middle America with that – your disgusting wars for Israel in the Middle East. So you have no one to blame but yourselves for Obama. If the gelded GOP puts forth another Israeli puppet like they did in ‘08 I will vote for Obama (never voted for a Democrat in my life so it will be a new vote they get). Stop being a de facto Israel party and you might win. Otherwise the whole lot of you need to be machine gunned as traitors. Your choice.

Harry   March 29th, 2010 - 12:45 am

“That is a challenge to all you lefties. One example of where redistribution has raised the standard of living for the poor.”

FDR’s “socialist” redistributionist policies greatly enlarged and enriched the middle class and America in general. Republican policies of giving tax breaks to the rich have widened income disparity and led to the current problems where the middle class is shrinking while billionaires are increasing in number and getting richer.

It is time for the rich who have benefited too much in the past three decades to begin paying at least as much taxes as they used to in the prosperous 1950s and 1960s.

martifr   March 29th, 2010 - 12:50 am

I earn a fair wage for a fair day’s work. It is NOT some useless politician’s right to reach into my pocket and steal it. It’s tantamount to holding a gun to my head and shaking me down. I worked very hard to get to the point where I am, and will NEVER support having to give up my income to illegals and those too lazy to work and sacrifice. There is AMPLE opportunity here to succeed. It’s not my responsibility to take care of those who refuse to take care of themselves. This will all start to turn around this November.

scott   March 29th, 2010 - 1:11 am

Harry:

The median joblessness rate throughout the New Deal was 17.2 percent and never went below 14 percent. FDR prolonged coming out of the great depression. He also created the credit society we still live in. Look at what the repercussions were to the farmers. The economic and Job boon in the 40-s and 50’s can be directly attributed to the war and growth in technology. More people work..more people in the middle class. More on welfare..less in the middle class. Now show me an example of a country that uses redistribution as its main goal that has a better standard of living for the poorest of poor than we do.

For the rest I will wait for my comment that is waiting moderation to appear. It addresses your mis-comparison of the rich and poor as opposed to comparing the standard of living of our poorest to the poorest of the rest of the world.

scott   March 29th, 2010 - 1:30 am

You lefties always make the wrong comparison. Look at the income disparity for India, for Cuba, China, Russia. There will ALWAYS be rich and poor. And believe me, I was also angry when the Republicans were overspending. However some of that was 9/11.

And how can you say:

When Obama tripled that deficit in 1 year.

Cowboy   March 29th, 2010 - 1:41 am

“FDR’s “socialist” redistributionist policies greatly enlarged and enriched the middle class and America in general.”

Actually, FDR’s “socialist” redistributionist policies are what turned the recession/depression into the Great Depression. The economy would have recovered mush more quickly on its own had it not been for FDR.

If you think that worsening and extending the worst depression this country has ever had “greatly enlarged and enriched the middle class and America in general”, that pretty much models progressive thinking. Bring everyone down to the lowest co,,on level to be ‘fair’…

Calvin&Hobbes   March 29th, 2010 - 2:36 am

Karl Marx would be so proud of these idiots.

Why can’t we start by redistributing the anti-capitalist, socialist, progressive, liberal’s wealth FIRST.

We’ll see how that works out.

People who want to redistribute wealth will get their wish and people who don’t want to redistribute wealth will also get their wish.

It will be a win-win situation for both socialists and conservatives.

For the sake of Obama’s new era of bi-partisanship, I say let’s give it a try.

Harry   March 29th, 2010 - 2:49 am

“Actually, FDR’s “socialist” redistributionist policies are what turned the recession/depression into the Great Depression. The economy would have recovered mush more quickly on its own had it not been for FDR.”

Complete BS. The economic crisis of the 1930s occurred precisely because the economy was left “on its own”. Just as the financial crisis of Bush’s presidency occurred because of lack of regulation as Alan Greenspan himself was forced to admit. You are prescribing the cause of the economic crisis as the cure for it! That is insane. The Great Depression of the 1930s ended because of govt involvement, in Hitler’s Germany, FDRs America, government takeover of a war economy etc not because of free market principles.

And iIt took “socialist” intervention by the governments of America, China, Europe etc to prevent the recent financial crisis from turning into a second Great Depression. Note that Bush the reaganite free marketer was himself forced to intervene in the crisis caused by his own deregulatory polici

Harry   March 29th, 2010 - 2:55 am

“Look at the income disparity for India, for Cuba, China, Russia.”

It is even worse in Africa and Latin America. Is that your vision for America? It is not mine.

Now look at the much lower income disparity of Japan and western Europe. Which is a better model, Africa and India, or Japan and the EU?

scott   March 29th, 2010 - 3:01 am

Harry,

The only thing unregulated that caused the crash of 29 was people being able to borrow to invest in the stock market. That was the driving force.

Alan Greenspan said:

“It is important, indeed crucial, that any reforms in, and adjustments to, the structure of markets and regulation not inhibit our most reliable and effective safeguards against cumulative economic failure: market flexibility and open competition.”

I’m still waiting for you to show me a country that stresses redistribution as a major system that has a standard of living for their poorest of poor as we have here even in a bad economy.

scott   March 29th, 2010 - 3:02 am

Our poorest in the USA are in the top 10% of wealth of the world. Look it up!

scott   March 29th, 2010 - 3:36 am

Just some fun figures for you Harry to show you what kind of standard of living this “bad capitalist system” causes us to live in:

- 1.3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on US$1/day.

- 3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on US$2/day.

- 1.5 billion people worldwide DO NOT have access to clean drinking water.

- Percent of U.S. Poor Households Owning VCR/DVD: 78%

- Percent of ALL Swedish Households With VCR/DVD: 46%

Yes Harry, There is a gap between rich and poor in the US. There has been a great gap between rich and poor in every nation in every period of history. But here in the US, that Gap widens not because the poor are falling into the pit. On the contrary, they have a better standard of living because of the free market than any poor at any other time in history and in any other country. That gap is the wealthy getting wealthier. You would say that’s a bad thing. I say those people spend lots of money strengthening our economy. They Pay the heavy majority of taxes. That wealth is EXACTLY why we have the standard of living we do.

Cowboy   March 29th, 2010 - 3:39 am

Re Harry…

““Actually, FDR’s “socialist” redistributionist policies are what turned the recession/depression into the Great Depression. The economy would have recovered mush more quickly on its own had it not been for FDR.”

Complete BS. The economic crisis of the 1930s occurred precisely because the economy was left “on its own”. ”

LOL!!!! Is that what you learned in progressive school ???

The market in/by ‘29 was a bubble waiting to burst because of irrational optimism leveraged by margin buying. That irrational optimism extended into other areas of the economy as well.

But the depression was increased and dragged out by FDR’s tax and spend policies that were not only a complete failure, but drove the country’s economic situation further into the hole. Granted, extremely poor fiscal policy by the FDR administration helped contribute to the depth and duration of the Great Depression as well. Just like Obama.

Free clue… Id the FDR policies were as wonderful as you claim for Americans, we wouldn’t have that event referred to as “The Great Depression” that took WWII to get us out of.

“Just as the financial crisis of Bush’s presidency occurred because of lack of regulation as Alan Greenspan himself was forced to admit.”

Actually the financial crisis of the Bush Presidency was caused by the economic bubble driven by the “anybody can have a mortgage whether they can afford it or not” progressive policies. Banks were forced by law and Democrat extortion into writing writing bad (aka subprime) mortgages).

Oversight would have helped, which is why the Republicans proposed legislation for more oversight, and Senator McCain even introduced such legislation. However, Democrats blocked the legislation while telling the American public that there was no problem, and American taxpayers faced no risk.

Don’t bother to deny it… The Democrats are on video saying it.

“You are prescribing the cause of the economic crisis as the cure for it!”

Absolutely not. I am opposed to forcing banks to make bad mortgages to support a socialist agenda. Yet, that is just the kind of thing that Democrats continue to use. We are throwing many billions of dollars at trying to save mortgages that couldn’t be afforded in the first place. That is why 79% of renegotiated mortgages are winding up in default again just months later…’

But none of Obamanomics is actually about mortgages and healthcare anyway. Like FDR, it is all about ‘redistribution of wealth’…

“The Great Depression of the 1930s ended because of govt involvement, in Hitler’s Germany, FDRs America, government takeover of a war economy etc not because of free market principles.”

LOL!!! If it ended by government involvement, it wouldn’t have taken some 12 years until WWII LOL! Go get your progressive talking points straight and try again…

The following are facts about persons defined as “poor” by the Census Bureau, taken from various government reports:

* Forty-six percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one and a half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio.
* Seventy-six percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, 30 years ago, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.
* Only 6 percent of poor households are overcrowded. More than two-thirds have more than two rooms per person.
* The average poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.)
* Nearly three-quarters of poor households own a car; 30 percent own two or more cars.
* Ninety-seven percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions.
* Seventy-eight percent have a VCR or DVD player; 62 percent have cable or satellite TV reception.
* Seventy-three percent own microwave ovens, more than half have a stereo, and a third have an automatic dishwasher.

Quite an eye opening article. Yeah, lets redistribute to fix our terrible poverty problem so our poor can live like they do in Cuba or Venezuela!

SHAME on anyone who complains about the standard of living of our poorest in this country. A country, where you can, like my brother in-law did last year, start mowing lawns and make $85,000 in one year.

RobUSMC4Christ March 28th, 2010 – 10:24 pm
What’s wrong with spreading the wealth, sharing, and putting more money back into the pockets of hard workers?

RobU wants to know what is wrong with robbing Peter in order to buy the votes from Paul.
Listen, when people like RobU are that god damned stupid, you wont be able to convince
them of the most glaring and obvious truths. You just can’t explain stupid to stupid people.

That is why the scriptures explain “Wo unto those that call night for day and day night. That put evil for good and good for evil.”
In other words, there are certain sort of people (liberals) that will get issues ass backwards, and “WO UNTO THEM” since
they are unteachable and will never learn.

The important thing to do for these sort of morons is just make sure you don’t vote them into positions of power
and if you did accidentally vote them in, the purposely vote them out.

kmichaels   March 29th, 2010 - 10:30 am

Harry March 28th, 2010 – 11:29 pm
Thanks to the republicans wealth has been transferred from the middle class to the rich. Income disparity has grown tremendously.’

This is your typical moron’s view of the economy. Again, Harry is one of those unteachable sorts that has been taught a lie
and has been a big enough goober that he can at best, repeat the lie. He can’t quite explain himself on how his theories
of economy actually work, but he can pat himself on his dumbass back and feel proud that he hates capitalism.

So then, if you make lots of money, and you are good at it, you will get richer. However, with riches comes this one little
economic aspect. You have money enough to spread it around, by choice, using your free will to do so. What you typically
do is you buy things. You buy things generally from people that make less money than you do. This allows those people
to make more money from people they generally buy things from. And then you hire others to make more products that
you can sell to other people. This allows everyone to have a higher quality of living. And that is what happens in
these kind of free societies. More people get rich (more millionaires and billionaires now than ever before) and the
quality of living goes up for all.

Now the bad way to run an economy (let’s call it the moron socialist Harry Obama plan) is to take the riches away from
those that know how to make it and spend it wisely, and give it to a dumb ass socialist, that uses it to encourage
lazy people to stay lazy. This encourages a slothful life style, makes it hard to hire more workers, and loses the
incentive for smart hardworking people to continue working.

In every time and place that has tried socialism, it has failed miserably.

But don’t blame Harry (Obama, Pelosi, Dean) for being such dumb asses. It is strictly their nature. They were
born dumb asses and they will die dumb asses. But don’t be a dumb ass yourself and vote these dumb asses
back into office. That would be, well, DUMB.

Harry March 29th, 2010 – 12:45 am
“That is a challenge to all you lefties. One example of where redistribution has raised the standard of living for the poor.”
FDR’s “socialist” redistributionist policies greatly enlarged and enriched the middle class and America in general

Not even remotely true. Most economists conclude that what he die was slow down economic recovery.

Social Security has been an utter failure. If we invested the same amount of money that we are forced to give to SS into
low risk investments we easily would have ten times more money at the time of our retirement.

Harry is a complete and utter moron.

kmichaels   March 29th, 2010 - 3:46 pm

Here is the trouble with idiots like leftist Harry.
Since they have no confidence in themselves
they are destined to be poor, and not partake
of the available wealth. Because they simply
decide that they can’t handle the workload.
So they sit in mommies basement and complain
against capitalism, saying what good has it
ever done for me. Well, lunatic Harry, you
never even tried it, so how the hell would you know?

itsJustice   March 29th, 2010 - 3:47 pm

The biggest gap is not income, but the one between Harry’s left ear and his right ear.

kmichaels   March 29th, 2010 - 3:51 pm

Social Security was estimated to cost 50 million each year, by it’s promoters.
Today, it costs 700 BILLION each year. This monstrosity continues to
give people about 1/10th of what they would have had, had they invested
the same money stolen from them into low risk private investments.

Even if you make adjustments for the changed value of the US dollar
compared to when SS was started (1935) and today and the change
in population (125 million in 1935 and 300 million now) then
Social Security still costs aprx 1000 times more per capita
than it did when it started.

obama_supporter   March 29th, 2010 - 4:09 pm

Mr. Dean isn’t calling for total redistribution of wealth. Clearly any non-flat tax is redistribution of wealth. He is saying that increased redistribution of wealth is needed, as the system is out of whack, I assume based on the disparity between the very wealthy and the very poor. He even says that it’s a matter of tuning the system, and that too much redistribution will remove incentives. This is not communism, merely enlightened capitalism. But it seems to serve the right’s interest to mis-characterize his statement as redistribution of all wealth. Unless you’re in the top 3 % income earners, you may be taxed less. And affordable health care and improved standard of living for the very poor will help them get on their feet, and actually make the country and the economy stronger.

God gave me free will. I will do what I want, I am free, it’s my will, to give or not to give! It’s mine until I decide (through my own free will) to give it away. No one can take it from me, that’s stealing, and is against the law! If someone tries to ‘force’ me to do something I don’t want to do, that’s a violation of my free will and freedom, guaranteed by my Constitution.

God trumps man, Saetoro isn’t god, he’s not the president, his laws mean nothing to me. I live in America, I am free – and if anyone tries to take my freedom, or my belongings, or my wealth, is in for a court fight!

The battle cry: REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

thruths   March 30th, 2010 - 11:28 am

It’s understandable how Harry and RobUSMC have misguided well intentions: We have been fed a steady diet of progressive ideas for decades. Progressives have become very adept at how to promote their ideals and appeal to our hearts. I really don’t believe executive and legislative branches are evil, there’s just a majority of misguided intentions, thinking social justice is an honorable goal. The debates we are having now are wonderful because people are starting to sit up and pay attention.

To Harry and RobUSMC: Americans are among the most generous ever in history. We give of our hearts, sometimes til it hurts. Here’s one from our history books all but forgotten:

In 1887, Texas farmers were suffering a catastrophic drought. Congress passed a bill to appropriate funds to these farmers. Grover Cleveland (a DEMOCRAT) vetoed, saying, “I can find no warrant for such an appropriation in the Constitution, and I do not believe the power and duty of the General Government ought to be extended to the relief of individual suffering which is in no manner properly related to the public service or benefit. A prevalent tendency to disregard the limited mission of this power and duty should, I think, be steadfastly resisted, to the end that the lesson should be constantly enforced that though the people support the Government the Government should not support the people.” (source: George Frederick Parker, “The Writings and Speeches of Grover Cleveland, p 450)

What happened to the farmers? Private citizens donated TEN TIMES more than Congress wanted appropriated.

Americans don’t mind giving. We mind the taking.

What is wrong with redistributing wealth is it is being redistributed to people who DO NOT deserve it! If you collect a paycheck your wealth is being taken and put in someone else’s pocket. I am all for social security and paying rightful taxes, but the people who worked their whole lives are not seeing the benefits of it because people who know how the system works have been stealing from all of us! This healthcare bill is bull****. It will not benifit people, it will make everything worse. The cost of healthcare and medication will go up, companies that do supply healthcare will be fined, taxes on things not even relating to healthcare will increase, jobs will be lost and companies will go overseas. For what? If they wanted to take care of healthcare go after the freedoms of the insurance companies, not the American people.
