How Government Buys Votes

Barack Obama will have one billion dollars to spend on his re-election in 2012. Bill Whittle says that is "chump change." Watch this video to see how Big Government spent 2200 times that amount on buying votes in 2011 alone!

Nice lecture. Do you think you could show Obama how to get to the point that fast?

I am gonna email this one around.

Obama gives money to his supporters, they file for bankruptsy and they give it back to the DNC so Obama can be re-elected.

Very nearly every person who accesses public assistance of one sort or another is–by definition–a bought vote. This national problem has been predicted. All democracies fall under threat when those amongst them realize they can vote stuff for themselves. We've got a serious problem here folks and the solution is not BHO.

Oregontea   January 27th, 2012 - 3:16 pm

That scares the obama right out of me.

Outstanding presentation. Sadly, Americans won't get rid of their entitlements, even if it destroys their economy and the dollar. Whether it's Obama or Romney running things, it makes no difference, the only question is whether they drive the car off the cliff at 135 MPH or 40 MPH.
We'll be lucky if the US ends up only like Argentina and not Zimbabwe.

At this point the only thing to do is to buy gold, silver, ammo, food, and single malt whisky and learn a essential skill or two to place yourself in good standing after the collapse.

With Stuff.

It is always about the Stuff.

leslie_gaea   January 27th, 2012 - 3:55 pm

The federal government in every way is pushing for greater socialism at the expense of our economy and our future.

Massive handouts keeps the masses solidly behind the socialists, huge increases in the number of federal employees furthers dependency, and the demographic war against white america insures that illegals and poor third worlders will continue to swamp the country with needy people dependent on handouts-and create a racial and lingual divide.

The Feds will ultimately kill this country,

I suppose we should also call all loopholes corporations and wealthy individuals use to reduce tax liability "vote buying" as well, just to be consistent. Right, Billo?

This, amoungst other things, is what Ron Paul is trying to tell you.

And believe me if you think Romney or Gingrich are going to do anything other than tinker round the edges then you are not much more intelligent than an Obamanoid.

Dismiss me if you want, but ask yourself.

Have you read and understood the constitution?
Do you know what money is and how it is created?
Do you know what the business cycle is?
Do you know what is the federal reserve is and it's function?
Do you know what government bonds are?
Do you understand the philosophy of government?
What is the differance between democracy and a constitutional republic?
Have you investigated the question of wether it is immoral to initiate violence?
What should the role of government be?
Do you know the differance between Keynesian economics and Austrian Economics?
What is the differance between a sunni muslim and a shia?
Who are Al-queda and what are their origins?
Who are the Taliban, what is their goal?
If you were born in a prision, how would you know it's a prision?

People on here that critise Ron Paul miss the biggest charge against him. He's calling you stupid.

When he talks about an intellectual revolution what else do you think he means. Maybe you'd like to think it's the other people that don't get it and they need to be smarter but could you answer all the questions above?

Our ansestors had to pick up weapons and fight for Liberty. What are you going to do for yours?

Tax breaks "cost" nothing, spending trillions to pay for morons like you to suckle the government teat does.

When taxes go down tax revenues go up but then you failed your third or fourth go round of remedial math apparently.

Lower taxes = more tax payers = more revenues = a lower percentage of GDP required to fund a smaller more focused government.

As government expands its scope and reach individual liberty retreats and withers under its weight.

Go read a history book dummy.

muirgeo1   January 28th, 2012 - 12:09 am

Your black hole did NOT exist in 2001. It was created by the Bush Tax cuts, the two unfunded Bush wars, the Bush hand out of prescrition drugs to the elders, the massive loss of revenue after Bush tanked the economy and the increased interest debt from said irresponsible Bush policies. That is where the black came from.

Thotman   January 28th, 2012 - 1:35 am

Bill Whittle is fast becoming the real voice of reason in the USA. I have yet to see any of his well prepared and well thot out presentations that should not become mandatory viewing in our high schools and universities.

Millions, billions, trillions … A million seconds is about 11.57days. A billion seconds is about 31.69 YEARS. A trillion seconds is about 31,688 YEARS… Our national debt is about 15 TRILLION dollars, and the yearly deficit is 1600 BILLION (1.6 Trillion) each year. I wonder when the weight of the debt will crush us and NO one will get their expected check from the government. Then what?

Still thinking in cliches, eh Don? You Paulbots don't seem to understand that there are a lot of people who have fundamental disagreements with Ron Paul on numerous issues or just dislike him for other reasons. For me, it's a combination of his ideology-driven isolationism, his do-nothing record in congress, his unwillingness to criticize extremists, his love of pork spending (while hypocritically voting against his own pork), his unwillingness to take responsibility for his writing, and, most of all, the insanity and fanaticism of his followers.

Your posts aren't a "message," and Ron Paul isn't a "messenger." That is religious thinking. Ron Paul is a POLITICIAN. Do you understand that word, Don? Even if you support him, a politician is never to be trusted.

You are a fool, Don. Ron Paul is using you.

Evil_Otto   January 28th, 2012 - 4:41 am

Note Don's reply, Doc… it's not that you disagree with Paul, it's that you don't understand. If you watch a video, you'll understand, and you'll come to support him. Once again, his adoration of Ron Paul is religious in nature.

Don is a cult member, nothing more.

Evil_Otto   January 28th, 2012 - 4:42 am

Evil_Otto   January 28th, 2012 - 4:43 am

Duuuuh   January 28th, 2012 - 5:23 am

Ummmm… Thats a little disingenuous don't you think? From 1998 to 2001 Republicans controlled Congress and the budget was balanced. Clinton signed off on it. When Congress is split controlled or completely controlled by Democrats… is when the deficits run rampant. Democrats have not balanced the budget in 40 years.

Might want to rethink that one…. and get a clue…. the President does not control the purse strings and Democrats have no desire to balance the budget. That's a fact.

muirgeo1   January 28th, 2012 - 11:22 pm

ok so since the repblicans hold congress then the current budget is there fault. So is his point we should get rid of the wasteful republican congress. You can't have it both ways.

muirgeo1   January 28th, 2012 - 11:25 pm

Also …all the points I made about the hole getting made occured when Bush and the republicans held congress together. YOU need to take responsibility for your parties desruction of our budget surplus and stop blaming it on Obama.

KJinAZ   January 29th, 2012 - 8:38 am

It's time to clean up our election process. There is one simple way to accomplish this. Take the money out of the game. With all of the media outlets we have that will willingly allow these people time to talk and debate there is no need for massive campaign funds. The media will gladly do it for free.

Let them all have a few months to speak on TV, and then have a national primary that would pick up to 3 candidates per party. Then when the election happens the one with the most votes wins, which would eliminate our screwed up electoral college. This would allow ANYONE to run for office, without the need for huge sums of cash. No more super PAC's, and no more big money or big business control.

Duuuuh   January 29th, 2012 - 9:58 am

Since when is 2 years greater than the 3 and a half that Obama has been in office two of which were with a D/D Congress? You can't have it both ways either.

It takes a little time for a pothole to be filled in… I don't call a couple of years that much time considering the Dems have had almost 6 years now to fill it and it has become a sink hole now. Obama has increased the size of that hole to almost double since he took office.

Responsibility? You've got to be effin kidding me? YOU need to take responsiblity for your parties unwillingness and lack of any desire to balance a budget, going on a wild spending spree and stop blaming it ALL on Bush.

When I see people like you taking a hard look at the Barney Frankey Mae's & Mac's that you have in office… I may be able to take your arguments a little more seriously.
