Well it’s hard to say at this point. Several of the military leaders that have taken part in the military coup have been trained at the infamous School of The Americas — which has been re-branded in recent years as the
Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation — what a mouthful!

As you will probably recall, this is the school at Fort Benning, Georgia that teaches people to torture. The school has been connected with several central American death squads in the past.

The military that has taken over has also kidnapped the ambassadors to Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua in Honduras, as well as the Honduras Foreign Relations Minister Patricia Rodas.

This operation also appears to have signs of CIA involvement. We’ll see what develops.
